New PFS DM Question

GM Discussion

I _just_ finished DMing "First Steps, Part II: To Delve the Dungeon Deep" with four players. I am a PFS member, who has only played at DunDraCon. None of the other players are PFS members as of yet.

The question is, Can I get DM Credit if none of the players are PFS members?

You can download numbers and assign them to the players ... you would just keep track of whose number is whose ... then if they ever want to have a pfs number, you have it and can give it to them.

Thank you for this information.

One question, how do I DL numbers for four non-PFS people?

- Go to My Pathfinder Society (and sign in if asked)
- Click the 'GM/Event Coordinator' tab
- Set up an event if there are none listed (you'll need one so you have an event number for the home game you ran)
- Go to the bottom of the page
- Click the button to reserve ten Pathfinder Society cards
- Print and hand out

Godsend answer! TYVM.

Unfortunately, that scenario is retired. I'm glad you had fun, but neither you nor your players receive any credit for it.

Heh, good point! The steps above apply if you want to run any currently-sanctioned PFS material for your friends though.

Gah! Why is would a perfectly good introductory scenario to PFS game play be canceled?

One reason is that it introduces at least one faction that is no longer available to select, so it's confusing for new players.

it was replaced by the season 5 introductory scenario

As a personal note, I agree with you, Shain. I think that "To Delve the Dungeons Deep" is probably the strongest section of the three First Steps adventures. As PAz says, the campaign leadership withdrew it from active play because it highlights the Lantern Lodge, a closed faction.

I looked for it in the store, I can't seem to find this scenario. Where can I find it?

It's titled, "The Confirmation". It's scenario #5-08 I believe.

#5-08: The Confirmation

I really like this module, it will be timeless in a way first steps can't be. For starters it is faction agnostic, but that there is a random element in the encounters, and it encapsulates the history and feeling of being a pathfinder so well, giving both a complete introduction to both Pathfinder the game, Pathfinder Society the organized play structure, and Pathfinder Society the in game entity.

Destiny of the Sands is also shaping up to be my favourite series scenarios, the first one is a gem of mixed RP/action and the second a solid dungeon.
