Pathfinder Actual Play Podcast -- any interest?

Liberty's Edge

Would there be any interest in a new actual-play podcast? I have some equipment lying around that would work well and I thoroughly enjoy actual play podcasts like WOTC's Acquisitions, Inc. and Beer & Battle. I would likely record an 8-hour session and break it up into 8 separate hour-long episodes. Makes it easier on me (and whoever I can find to join).

If so, what do you look for in an actual-play? Comedy? Interesting stories? Rules-heavy tactics? Lots of battle? Roleplay? I'd like to get an idea what people want to listen to before I plunge in!

I would be interested. I liked the WotC Acquisitions Inc (at least the early stuff I had listened to)a lot. I loved the comedy and gamer jokes, the game related but out of character banter, and bits of explanation on what is going on throughout the game.

Depending on how much you care about spoilers, maybe doing something like a PFS scenario per show might be pretty cool. Sort of like single one-shots that kind of relate to each other, and tend to run between 4-6 hours each.

I personally am a big fan of the Strand Gamers (check them out) they podcaster the Kingmaker AP and it was really interesting. What I look for is some good group dynamics personally.

The Beer & Battle guys, right? I've been listening to them. They're great.

I think I would keep it to one GM and three players so that each of us has our own microphone.

PFS is actually a great idea -- it does depend a little bit on how much money I'd have to invest in buying them.

If you're looking for a site to host it, let me know. I'm always looking for Pathfinder-related audio to add to the Know Direction banner.

Also interested. Would love to hear another adventure path podcast, preferably one that can keep the out of game chat to a minimum.

Awesome, thanks, guys. This is pretty much what I expected to hear (focus on moving the game forward, keep out-of-game banter to a minimum, encourage good group dynamics). I especially like the idea of using PFS scenarios, as I'd much rather not have lengthy arcs that take up multiple podcast episodes. An adventure path is a good idea, too, but unfortunately requires a certain amount of railroading to ensure the game continues at a decent pace. I'm prepared to engage in a bit more railroading than I like for the purpose of the podcast, though.

Thanks for the offer, Ryan. I currently have an account with Libsyn and may continue to use them, but when the time comes it wouldn't hurt to do a comparison. If anything, perhaps I can occasionally submit guest episodes to Know Direction -- that would be awesome.

I currently have two obstacles before I can start the podcast: I need to buy one more microphone and, more importantly, need to find a few good individuals who can display some good showmanship for the podcast! I'll keep everybody updated.

It's finally up! Hope you guys are still around. Here's the thread:
