Regarding Tartuk

So I restatted Tartuk as a summoner, with Old Sharptooth as his eidolon. I discovered three things:

1) It is absolutely hilarious to cast Reduce Person on a barbarian;
2) A hasted eidolon with teeth and claws is very dangerous.
3) A hasted eidolon with teeth and claws is very dangerous to a shrunken barbarian.
4) A wizard cannot track a hasted, invisible summoner with a fly potion
5) My players are awesome and sarcastic. "Here's the story of Tartuk." "Awww. That story made me cry."
6) I have my first recurring villain.


My group got lucky and caught him in the very edge of a color spray as he was trying to retreat while invisible. They then hog-tied him and presented him to Chief Sootscale who got to deal the killing blow. After they learned his story afterward they kind of laughed and called him pathetic and let the Chief throw the book in the fire after getting the scrolls out of it.


My group has negotiated with everybody but the bandits in the Stolen Lands. They even tried to feed the trapped thylacine rather than kill it. When they do go into battle, it's usually a pretty epic one. I think they've learned they can nova most of the wilderness encounters, so I've changed the encounters a little bit to a) create situations where fighting isn't necessarily the best course, b) reflect that there's already a community, of sorts, in the Stolen lands with trappers and whatnot, and c)ensure that when they do nova, it's an encounter that's worth nova-ing for.

This version of Tartuk has the potential to be really nasty, particularly if he casts invisibility and then haste.


I am so snagging this version of Tartuk!

The PC's are working with the mites and the kobolds to stop Tartuk from using his "fake" god old sharptooth to stir up trouble.

I see this moment as Tartuk Telling them in full bluster that they will rue the day they dared to challenge Old Sharptooth!

I am sure the PC's will freak when the "fake" Sharptooth makes an appearance when Tartuk summons him!!!!


On a side note, I used a mite from the Mite have a problem intro, and he and Mikmek are friends who have asked the PC's for help......


My group got lucky on him. We helped MikMek feeling sorry for him being tortured (all except our ranger that wanted to just kill him) we got the statue, found about Tartuk, and then gave the statue to Chief Sootscale. He broke the statue and delcared the tribe free and asked the party to assist in fighting Tartuk.

Naturally, Tartuk was pissed and used a wand of fear on all of us and only the Druid made her will save. She entangled tartuk and brutalized him with our wand of burning hands. Eventually we snapped out of the fear and went back into the battle. The fighter decided to us3 his intimidate skill to rally all the kobolds into staying with us in the fight and it worked. Tartuk tried to disappear and escape but then our bard cast grease making tartuk slip and fall agains the wall and then then since we couldn't walk on the grease, the fighter decided to start throwing the other kobald over to where Tartuk slipped to and let them deal with him. Then the ranger decided to throw our alchemist fire on the pile and just kill them all. In a haste, our druid wanted to save the other kobolds and decided to cast creat water over them... then our GM decided that alchemist fire was made of something equivalent to white phosphorus, which when mixed with water... well, find a youtube video and see for yourself. The cave just exploded in a bright burst of flame and the whole party, except itonically, the ranger, made a successful reflex save and survived. The kobolds along with Tartuk, died quite horribly.

And that's the story of our unintentional kobold genocide.
