Scaling the Beginner Box

Beginner Box

Hi everyone, long-time lurker, first post here. I also cross-posted this on Reddit, just looking for any feedback I can get. I'm running Black Fang's Dungeon from the Beginner Box for some friends in the next couple of weeks. I picked it up over last weekend and have been familiarizing myself with the mechanics, as I haven't run a game since DMing AD&D 2e in high school, and even then we weren't so much with the "rules."

Everything looks great so far, but my players are being a bit dodgy and I might have anywhere from 2-4 PCs. I think if I had 3 or 4, then I would run the adventure as written, but I would probably want to do some scaling for 2 people, especially since I have no idea what party composition would be.

People who have done it, or even if you haven't, any suggestions on how to scale the encounters a bit? Thanks in advance.

I've played through Black Fang's dungeon twice now with 2 totally different groups and I don't think you really need to change too much if you have fewer players.

We had 3 players for the 2nd play through - I just gave the enemies half regular hit points or dropped their attack bonus by 1.
You might want to do both if you only have 2 players
