I wanted to do a sanity check on a session before I tried to set it up. There isn't enough interest locally to start up a session of Bonekeep, there are players, but beyond one or two there isn't anyone with characters built to survive the experience.
So I was thinking as offering it as a clear challenge table Core Campaign, pregens across the board with players applying chronicles to 1st level characters. Are there any special rules related to this event that would bar, prohibit, or frown on this experience?

It was my understanding that if you have a character in tier for the scenario you are playing you must play it. If so wouldn't that prohibit the use of the pregens since they are essentially a stand in for a first level character which isn't in tier?
I ask only for clarification because this is what we were told at a table I played on.

The restriction about pregens is that you cannot apply credit from a pregen to a character who you could have played at the time. It does not restrict you from playing a pregen or from applying credit to a lower leveled character, be it via reducing gold for a 1st level or holding it until a character achieves that level.
