I've been slowly making my way through Spartan Ops. Just finished Episode 3 last night. In a way they're an odd beast, basically being Firefight mode with a story tacked-on. I like the storyline, but the Firefight-style (which I enjoyed as its own thing in ODST/Reach) works better in some missions than others.
Also getting real tired of Miller freaking out about "Phantoms Inbound". Of course Phantoms are inbound. They've been inbound a billion times already over the last dozen missions. I appreciate they're trying to give some immersion to "Hey, we're about to spawn another wave of enemies" but they need to mix it up a bit. Or at least get Miller to chill out a bit. (Also, why do they have a Spartan working as a mission operator, anyway? Wouldn't it be a better allocation of resources to have a non-super soldier manning the sensors and comm link?)
I finally got play some co-op over the weekend (started off with my dad and a friend of mine, then my dad tagged out in favor of my brother later in the evening) and that was a lot of fun. The missions definitely work better with a team. Single-player, even on Normal, they turn into a long slog alot. With a team of 3 on Heroic it was just challenging enough to still be fun, but the pacing was much better.

The DMR is incredibly accurate and hands down better than the BR IMO. They both take 5 shots to kill someone, same firing speed, so the DMR being more accurate is an overall advantage. The exception being at close range on SWAT matches, the BRs lower accuracy and using aim assist gives you a higher chance of a head shot. The advantage goes away at medium and longer distances.
The light rifle zoomed only takes 4 shots to kill, but if you're under fire, zoom accuracy goes way down.
I'm excited, I should have my operator armor ability unlocked soon.

Thanks,
HexenIt's very CoD-like.
But as much as I hate most CoD games that's not a bad thing.
The biggest gripe I have is that unless you are SR60 you are going to be less equipped than someone just starting. This would be different if you faced people depending on the SR. I like having my opponents be on the same footing, unless it just isn't as fun!
