You know, I could steal a page out of Liz's book and make up a FFVI mod to run...

w00t!

I have to ask: was there a major problem with the Redmond Town Center Marriott this year? I acknowledge there were logistical issues and certainly space problems last year, but the flip side was the myriad dining choices a short walk away. I, for one, will certainly miss that this time around. (Not gonna stop me from planning to go, though.)

I am curious as well.

My wife came with me last year, and though she didn't participate in the Con, she got a mini-vacation. She liked walking around the shops and there was plenty to do within walking distance. She was a little disappointed and is sending me by myself.

BEFORE you think this is a total complaint: this does mean I save not in an inconsidedrable amount money, and hang out in the bar longer and carouse, and in general not have to worry about whether she's having a good time. So there is definitely PROS to the CONS. I'm not unhappy either way.

Nevertheless, like Thunderspirit, I am curious.

I brought my wife along last year too; and we're both kinda bummed that it's been moved from the previous location. She isn't certain she wants to come along either. Which is a savings, but also not a mini-vacation anymore.

As I said, it's not likely to keep me home. (Aside to Jim Groves: we need to meet up, as I have stuff for you to autograph, LOL.)

DEFINITELY!

And I think I speak for both of us, I know Jeff Alvarez and his team work really really hard to put on PaizoCon. So it's not meant to be a petty complaint.

I know there had to be very good reasons for the change. And really, I'm cool with it.

Just curious, is all.

It's a bigger hotel, but we can't really predict that...

They didn't have enough rooms last year, and we expect to get a bit bigger this year.

Also, their remodeling actually ended up making them a worse fit for us, as they created a bunch of small spaces that we can't easily use.

And while the tent they set up for us last year turned out nicely, if it had rained, it would have been a disaster.

I know LL is wanting to run a Firefly repeat. Capt. Bleak would like his whole crew back to keep Babe running if possible.

Dunno about Star Frontiers. Might try something different. It was fun though. I never knew there were so many natural Dralasites, Vrusk, and Yazirians among the Paizo fan base. You guys had your roles nailed so well I was picturing you as other species when you spoke...

I am going to have to figure out what run this year, and if I can give out more minis to those that play with me.

You have to purchase them (as with all items on the site).

Well, there has been conflicting information in the past that I was told it’s ok to at least have it in your shopping cart and your copy is ‘held’, so that is why I wanted to clarify.

Thanks.

Items in your cart are not reserved until you complete checkout. Things in your *sidecart* are reserved, since you have to complete checkout to put things there.

It's not as if I wouldn't go and I know these sorts of events are difficult to schedule and pull off, but:

Starting this on the 5th is a little inconvenient. In order to be there for the morning of the 5th we're all going to probably want to be there on the 4th or prior, which means missing blowing things up with our families. In my case it means not being here to help my wife with our upset dogs...who don't really care for exploding things.

I'll make it work but hope next year is scheduled with a bit of room between Independence Day and the start of the con.

Just wanted to say it. Hope you don't take it as too whiny...I'm really looking forward to the event!

If I book the tickets between dec 21 and jan 31, can I use the promo code from the holiday card this year?

Its not a sub, or pre order, or back order.

Excccccccccellent. (steeples fingers)

I look forward to seeing all of you in July...both my old friends from PaizoCons past, as well as those of you attending for the very first time!

(I, for one, appreciate the July time, as it gives me ample time to organize and print those Wayfinders.....)

It's actually a preorder. The charge comes out right away, but the ticket isn't fulfilled until July.

thanks,

Scarab Sages

Though I (as Theodric Alverteen) failed to win the hand of the lovely lady, I shall continue to offer my theatrical services in any capacity for the peons of the Con.

Besides, it will be time, once again, to get my mutha F*in' Sorceror on.

Look forward to seeing y'all.

so now that its announced, who's planning on taking the Coast Starlight from California?

myself and Husband as well as our two GM's are tenatively planning and the train seems the best option as we're coming from southern california 1200 miles about.

would be fun to meet some other Pathfinderites on the long trip up.

teehee!

The Exchange

Fine. I'll come again. Why not?

I'll get another chance to make an ass of myself. I can never pass that up.

Isn't that a 34 hour trip? I live in Southern CA as well but my wife and I are going to travel by plane simply due to the time it would take to get there.

I hope to see you there at the Con.

Shadow Lodge

In, and bringing a contingent of Aussies with me. Prepare yourselves for the drop bear animal companions and excessive beer consumption.

Grand Lodge

Just purchased my 3 day pass and banquet pass. First ever Paizo con and coming from Kansas.

Hope to meet as many of you as I can and play as long as possible.

You say that like there isn't going to be excessive beer consumption anyway.

I'm definitely prepared for excessive beer consumption. Drop bears, not so much...ick. :)

Probably not drop bears ...
Definitely not drop beers ...

With sufficient quantities of alcohol, drop bears are not unheard of. (Not drop beers, though, cos that's alcohol abuse.)

it is a 34 hour trip, but i'll take the opportunity of not stressing about traffic, or getting fondled at the airport and get to see pretty scenery :)

That ride is gorgeous. If you ever get the chance to go all the way up to Vancouver on that line, take it.

Now that you mention it, I wouldn't mind taking the train up from Portland.

Looked at taking the train from Milwaukee to Seattle. 44 hours. If I had a group of brave pathfinders, we could run through a lot of scenarios and modules in those two days. >:)

Except none of us would have any PCs left for PaizoCon play. ;-)

Only if you let Kyle be the GM ...

You could also just play pregens and pick new PFS -X numbers.

Your stars suggest it's rather infrequent. ;-)

Bah. I've had these stars for a year and a half. I've only run ~50 sessions in that time. :-)

Among my friends, we have a standing rule that if you abuse alcohol by dropping, spilling, or otherwise not drinking it, you have to drink out of a sippy cup for the rest of the weekend.

We did much the same with people that forgot dice. They were forced to use the Pink Dice of Shame.

I have a set of those too.
