"Reincarnating" a Summoner

Advice

Shadow Lodge

Looking at a concept for PFS. I had a summoner who died at 4th level. I had gotten cocky and had brought a boon because I thought I was such a good player I would never die (stupid me) so I couldn't bring her back.

She was a half elven Summoner w/Exotic prof: Whip, the Andoran trait that granted long bow use and the other that gave her survival as a class skill and an eidolon that resembled a velicoraptor that she refered to as her 'pet chicken Bertie'.

I wasn't going to do this, but a couple friends suggested I bring her back because she was fun to play with. That seemed a little lame strait up. But then I thought about it some more.

Back story is a brand new character is a 'reincarnated' version of Summoner/Eidolan, as in the local Druid found her (just by chance, she died near her home, a ranch near the five kings mountains)....only she came back 'a little different' and while the 'outline' of who she was is still their. Basically, I'm thinking of doing her 'reborn' as a druid or ranger with animal companion.

Race options on the table: Human, Elf, Half elf

Option One: Ranger (beastmaster) bow specialist, with 'lost' eidolon being found at 4th level and the boon companion feat taken at 5th.

Option two: Ranger (falconer) bow specialist w/her Velicoratoper being reincarnated as an Eagle. Boon Companion being taken at 3rd level.

Option three: Druid, Velicoraptor, bow with trait but her basically being a caster druid (what Treantmonk refers to as a wild mystic) who sometimes uses a bow.

Im guessing the summoner was more of a caster type rather than a melee type, so I would stick with the druid, stay true to the original character. To throw a little humor into the character I would have the animal companion actually be a chicken... dire chicken maybe? That parts completely up to you. The only way I would play a melee character is if the original character was killed by a melee enemy, in which case I would specialize in the type weapon it was that killed her. If you're going to go with the reincarnation thing then go heavy, stick with the same sex, race, alignment, and if possible, same goals.

I tended to use my whip to knock people/things down and then let my chicken take advantage of the situation, shoot from a distance, or use my spells in support. I loved this versitility. I was basically a 'switch hitter' who could back up my Eidolon in a lot of different ways but who needed to avoid too close support.

As I started the character, she was a farm girl who raised her 'chicken', and bonded due to the seperateness of her half elven heritage (mother was a traveling Priestess of Calistra, she was raised by her Rancher father).
She was a lot like Kaylee Frye of Firefly only chicken crazy rather than ship crazy.

I'm gonna have plans goals be a modified version of her original goals, i.e. possibly a change of faction, what 'logically' comes from a new body, etc.

The beastmaster is pretty sweet. It eventually boost itself up so you don't even need boon companion, unless you don't want to wait. You would have to wait until level 12 so I do understand, not wanting to wait. As to whether you should choose the eagle or the dinosaur it depends on whether you want more damage or scouting.

If you want to deal damage with a bow I would definitely go ranger though.
