Paizo Team:

Are there plans for an Epic Level Handbook (like in D&D 3.5) for character levels going from 21 to 40 or so?

Thanks.

Ric

As far as I know, the mythic rules are the closest thing to having epic rules Paizo has in its plans. Few games make it to 20 as it is, and the rules get pretty crazy by that point. There are guidelines for allowing characters to level past 20, and you could always use the ELH mostly as-is. Barring that, you could cap at 20 but start adding mythic tiers. Even one tier is a significant boost above a vanilla level 20 character.

Nope; no plans at all. Mythic Adventures is our solution and offering in those lines.

There absolutely is. It only goes to 30, though.

It should be noted that this is not a Paizo product. So the answer is... yes it's here.. if you're willing to go third party. And most likely never if you're not. The ELH was not one of WOTC's success stories, and Paizo showed that they learned from it's mistake in their creation of Mythic Adventures.

Considering that all of pathfinder is 3rd party, that's a rather vacuous condition. Anyone not willing to go 3rd party wouldn't be able to play pathfinder at all.

Considering the OP was asking for a Paizo product, it probably should.

A third party product tends to be one that you buy to use with (plug into the core of, in the case of RPGs, buying a third party set of filters for your car's air conditioning system, or a third party ink cartridge for your printer) another one. Pathfinder is designed to be a core by itself, so while it's certainly a derivative of another product it's not strictly speaking a third party one. The original (pre-Pathfinder CRB) APs were third party products as they were dependent on you having a D&D rulebook to play them with.

This thread is already getting off-topic, but since it's already been answered I don't mind deviating a bit.

I tend to treat Dragon and Dungeon mags as first party in Pathfinder games (with the caveat that a few adjustments will be needed to fit pre-edition material into PF of course.)

Pathfinder is not third party to WOTC. It's a first party all onto itself.
