Well: Now that we've all had a couple of weeks to recover, it seemed to me to be about time to get a thread for the fourth annual PaizoCon UK posted, PaizoCon UK 2012.
This will, of course, be the highlight of the British summer in 2012, although apparently there may be some kind of 'olympic' event going on at the end of July/start of August... ;)

Well, PaizoCon UK 2011 has rather whet my appetite for organising..I'd certainly be up for helping get things together next time as well. ^_^

I will probably not be competing in the olympics, so I would love to participate again next year.

The Exchange 1/5

I shall actually try and attend this year. I'm sure you could always use GMs.

Grand Lodge 1/5

Count me in for voluteering as a GM/general dogsbody if you like. With a years notice I'm sure I can pursuade my boss to let me have some time off!

so do we have a date for 2012 yet ?

I have no idea at this point whether or not I wiill make it..Shift patterns are changing at work and holiday time will be more difficult to fit round both Games Expo and Paizocon

chris manning wrote:

At present a weekend in early/mid-July is under consideration. Any later, and we run into the Olympics.

Of note though may be that Games Expo 2012 is apparently scheduled for the end of May: *link*
Also that there's a national Jubilee 'weekend' scheduled for the 2nd-5th June: *link*

Please also try to avoid being too close to Continuum (July 20th)

And although I guess it's a bit early than PCUK 2012 would be there is also the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Celebrations 1st week of Jun 12.

Also I live in central B'ham so I'm happy to offer my help if needed

So current thinking is have PaizoCon UK 2012 on the weekend after the US PaizoCon. I'm considering other venues which may alter the dates.

Please state any preferences or requests here!

While the current venue is good, and has on-site accommodation - food is still a bit of a pain. If another venue is in the offing, better food options and possibly liaison with them beforehand about the money that can be made from 100+ hungry, captive role-players would be good.

My preference for Sunday is to keep the early start time; as I can rarely make the (late) afternoon games. Equally - having an option NOT to play in a two-parter on the Sunday would be good for those that have to leave on Sunday evening.

Other than that - this year was pretty painless - I had good games all round.

Works for me..... As hoping to get to the US and make it a two week holiday of Paizocon goodness.

And yes if its possible I'll GM for you as well Dave :D

I think the only real issue with the current location is the food situation.... service to the rooms would be good, or even more lax bar times not suggesting that games over run or anything :)

Cheers

I'd prefer it in June - outside of Scottish school holidays. Or late into the holidays - maybe August?

Scarab Sages 3/5

Can't wait for this. Looking forward to getting in on the UK Pathfinder scene. I'm more than willing to help as much as people need!

Oh noooooooooo

I hope you are aware what happened to all the other coordinators who came along. It's the curse of the Defense of the Dark Arts.

Now you doomed yourself.

Sorry - it's difficult not to tell this joke again.

Now more serious - this is great news !! I'm looking forward meeting you. PaizoCon UK is a great nice convention. All of the more active UK players tend to show up and it is a great community.
And I hope you are around the night before as the Indian Dinner is an important part of it where people meet and have the opportunity to chat. I'm not sure how many conventions of this size manage to get 70-80% of participants out to a meal together.

And we finally need someone who comes again a year later as well.

Should we warn Mike that Rich Pett has sabotaged every other special guest we've had, causing freak mishaps and mysterious accidents to befall them?

I'm sure you've got nothing to worry about, though. Though you may wish to bring some holy water. Possibly garlic. And a gun.

Of course, even if you disregard my warnings, I'm sure that something which certainly looks like Michael Brock will be returning to America at the end of it all....

Oh, and Dave - on a more serious note, if you need help with the organising I'm more than willing. I enjoyed lending a hand last time.

Why it's nothing but coincidence that every other special guest at every single Paizocon UK has mysteriously been beset by bad luck, was killed in a bizarre badminton accident or suddenly caught fire.

Anyway, I might not be invited this year, although that might be dangerous for Dave to consider:)

I will try to arrange my travel so I can attend the dinner. I look forward to it. I just need dates :)

If it wishes to deal with the wrath of Mrs. Brock, then be my guest. I've learned to duck and cover after almost 10 years.

Well, that was last year. I have a demonically possessed cheesegrater, a crushed velvet settee and a lonely roper called Kevin for this years accident.

Not that there will be any accidents of course, and I might not be invited too, one can't count ones' chickens too soon.

Are the chickens like the lights in that episode of Star Trek: next Gen?

And Richard, of course you are invited. It just wouldn't be PaizoCon UK without you!

Okay venture captain Dave
the chickens feet, pig blood , 4th ed players handbook , ral patha miniature, hair from the homeless, character sheet of a deceased character (so many to choose from)and low rolling dice
have been obtained what else do we need for the curse?
and who's the victim this year?

also we may have to cut back on the pathfinder uk popularity spell this year as it seems to be self perpetuating .

minion out..

I know it does conflict with Continuum but is there any other problem with 20th-22nd July?

Liberty's Edge 4/5 5/55/5

That's Zyphus' holy harvest day and the birthday of Alabama Vest, who invented the kazoo, but I don't have any ballet tickets for that weekend ...so what the hell. It's fine by me. Let's nail it. Then people can work around us.

I'll start the ball rolling and contact the venue about that date then.

PaizoCon UK 2012 dates announced:

PaizoCon UK 2012 will run from 21-22 July with a pre-event Balti Night on Friday 20 July. So get those dates in your diary. Once again we will limit numbers for the comfort and sanity of players and GMs and we expect to sell out. Watch out for further announcements in the New Year.

Whilst the offer is appreciated even I wouldn't wish to inflict the alien horror of Mansfield upon your unsuspecting goblins!

Although I can't be there, if there is any other stuff you want help with then let me know.
