Does Spell Storing crit

I hear a bit of unclearness about the Magnus in beta version 2 and critting that has me to ask about the closed ability that is already out like that...

Does a weapon with the Spell Storing trait crits does the damage from the spell also crit?

Not unless when deciding to activate the spell you then need to make a separate attack for it.

To whit, if you had shocking grasp in a +1 spell-storing sword. When you hit with the sword and activate the shocking grasp, do you need to make a touch attack to deliver the shocking grasp?

No? Then you don't crit with the stored spell.

Think about it this way.. otherwise you just wait until you crit with the weapon and THEN decide to deliver the spell.

Doesn't seem right, does it?

No. As the spells used in spellstoring are auto-hit, they do not crit.

Following this line of logic, if a spell storing weapon automatically discharged on any hit, then I'm of the oppinion that it WOULD crit if the attack crit

I understand the thinking, if the attack hits and the wielder decides to allow the spell to release, that attack auto hits because the attack hit. I see now that waiting for a crit then releasing a a spell just to get the damage.

I'm trying to get something like the magnus
thanks guys
