I think some more background into what you want to do with the class is needed. The inquisitor can do a lot and is a broad class. Do you want ot focus more on skills or combat? It can do both well.
Combat: The inquisitor benefits from having a primary weapon. The bane ability makes 2wf less powerful, being their primary damage bonus and only affecting 1 weapon. Ranged builds can get his damage output pretty good. For melee, I recomend a sword and board to utalize the teamwork feats if you have a partner. The inquisitor is a good self buffer, and spending 1 or 2 rounds to get yourself stronger isn't wasted on him. He needs it to keep up with a fighter, but with it is quite competative, sometimes outshining him.
Skills: The Inquisitor fills the similar role to the rogue here. He has a bunch of good abilities to fill in as a face or stealth character, or both.
Stats: Str, Wis, Cha, and Dex are all important IMO. I am fond of 15-16 Dex and Wisdom, 14 str and cha, and anything else in con. Since he is a skill character, I don't recomend tanking int, but its not the most important. Others will likely say something else.
