Wizard specialization and arcane trickster question

Rules Questions

If you have a character that specializes as a wizard i.e.)conjuration, then you went the route of becoming an arcane trickster, does your advancement in your arcane trickster levels count towards "wizard levels" when it comes to receiving the conjuration special ability of dimensional steps at 8th level?

Simple answer: No

Only your spell casting increases.
Summoner's Charm/Familiar changes all based off Wizard levels only.
I'm working my way to that in a Savage Tide campaign. I'm using some 3.5 splat books too in the build. Wizard(Conjurer)5/SpellWarp Sniper 5/Rogue 1/Unseen Seer 1/Arcane Trickster 8.
Ah...splatbook cheese!
