Age of Worms Adventure Path

After 21 levels, 65 sessions, and 26 months of real-world time, the final session for Age of Worms was today. Alas, Kyuss was no match for a party armed with enough wishes to undo all their misfortune. Alhaster is free again, and Oerth is spared.

It was a fun ride, but I don't think I'll ever run a 20 level path again...

Liberty's Edge

Well done Russ.

Campaign highlights?

Scarab Sages

How long are your sessions?

Just so I can estimate how long I'll be.

4-5 hours. Between 5 and 8 sessions per chapter.

Quite an achievement, congrats.

Gratz Russ.

So, am I to understand that the final session and the confrontation with Kyuss were a bit of a let-down?

I too would be interested in knowing what your campaign highlights were.

Oh no, it was a tough fight. They just managed to mass heal / wish away all the bad things that happened. It was a substantially upgunned Kyuss, vs. 5 21st or 20th level characters.

I'll try and recall some highlights soon.

Probably the single best moment (and spoiler will be posted):

After the Champion's Belt, the party was heading back to Diamond Lake the slow way. They heard word on the road of a black dragon seen flying east, and connected it to Ilthane and the lizardfolk. They elected to teleport back, and after much discussion, decided to jump just outside the Whispering Cairn...I managed to keep a poker face on, as this was where Ilthane was waiting.

The teleport rolls were made, and the sorcerer landed on target. The wizard, off. So half the party got to fight Ilthane alone for a few rounds, while the rest of the group was very, very happy the wizard had purchased an extra teleport scroll, just in case.

Some other high points...

Loris Raknian nearly dieing from a well-aimed crit during the Champion's Belt. He came back twice after that, once during Zeech's banquet (where the party managed to humiliate him), and a final time as a Kyuss Knight.

Home-brewed frozen gelatinous cubes with an icy variant of drowned, used in the quest for the Rod of Seven Parts I used to replace Kings of the Rift.

Losing Harrowdroth to a 1 on a massive damage save. Curses :)

A great duel with the ruler of the Twisted Branch...that the party actually lost.

It was a fun path. I doubt I'll ever do a level 1-21 game again, but this once, it was good.
