Hey Patrick, rather than have the whole conversation between Nerion, Nymphaea and Nimora, I think I'm just going to do a quick summary of what was discussed. I was thinking that end result, Nimora gets overall military command for the duration of this crisis, but still has to answer to Nerion (who is trying to broker peace between his wife and daughter), but Joren gets command of the city's guard, which puts him in a position of prominence. It also puts Joren in a position to interact with the nobles and hopefully make a positive impression. Is this acceptable? Or are there other political twists you'd like to add?

No that's fine. Those aliases are more 'foils' to Nimora's 'main character' anyway. Or important NPCs if you rather ...

Uggh. Literal headache. Still after-effects of not sleeping well monday/tuesday or paizo withdrawal symptoms? Anyway, dropped by and saw this:
Nerion calls at his mother's villa as promised and has a long conversation with Nymphaea and Nimora...
....Now all he had to do was convince Melusine that this was the right decision. The last thing they needed was Melusine and Nimora having another public spat.
Anyway, you have the Priestess of Discord in vicinity, a known impersonator. You could even post your own doppleganger character posts (under the regular alias) by announcing it was a doppleganger version of the character first with an 'ooc' remark to that effect.
Or possibly that's too complicated.Meh.
Apologies for that interruption. It's not looking as good an idea now as I thought it was. Off to bed.

Quick question to clear my own muddy thoughts:
We are keeping the rest of the Sandreef / Pearl story in the hands of only those who are already present in it, right? I don't want to send Devlyn off to do something totally superfluous and unimportant if Nimora and Mirathan still need help - it would not be in character for him.
What say you? :)

Either way you want to go is fine. Or you could add an underwater alias to 'get your feet wet'. I crack myself up sometimes. I know, it wasn't that funny. That's what my daughter tells me ALL the time. Over and over. And over.

She's just keeping you honest, dude. Just tell yourself that and it'll make you feel better....maybe :P (I appreciate bad pun humor, nonetheless.)
I asked because Devlyn has no problem being underwater, thanks to the side benefits of being Sirone's 'chosen'.

Man, Devlyn is the only guy with no other characters. Or even aliases.

It's hard enough for me to post as Devlyn and not stall storylines - I'd never be able to give any time to aliases with my time constraints. "Man's got to know his limitations," and all that. :)

Now now, I can't condone being made to impersonate a deity. Sunny Godhead might not approve. Then again, he might, and it would make for an interesting new way for Allura to work on a tan. Hmmm..... :P

Alrighty. Nimora already knows to call on the rest of us if she thinks she needs the help (and knows that Devlyn can somehow breathe underwater without using magic), so he'll just plug away at his humble domestic stuff until danger calls ;)
Besides, I'm really enjoying seeing those two characters come into their own. :)

If there is an upper limit to the amount of aliases one can recreate here at Paizo, Patrick will probably be the first person to find it. :)

I was planning to write up LJ and family arriving back at the Eyrie in the morning if that's okay. I have an ear infection and the tinnitis has been making it really hard to concentrate today. Going to see Terminator Salvation tonight, and hopefully there will be enough loud noises from the movie to drown out that irritating whine. :)

A belated good morning and TGIF! Tonight I'm helping my friday DM move and I made a house warming gift for their new home. So what is everyone else doing today?
I'm just hanging out hoping my ears stop hurting soon. And drawing. And working on writing up variant non-spellcasting bard, paladin, and ranger for use in our home game. And watching my son after he gets home from school in about a half hour. And cleaning the house a bit. And apparently making a pot of coffee to drink because typing all the projects I'm flitting between makes me realize that the ADHD is flaring a bit much and I could use some caffeine to make me calm down. :)

In wrapping up the loose ends, I find I had missed a couple (probably too tired to get them all).
Unless anybody objects I think it would be simplest for me to make an Nstrivaxon post that one morning he [the politician at the sanctum] simply isn't there and leave it open as to whether he's fled, been remotely disintegrated and his soul claimed, or been abducted by fiendish employed high-level ninjas.
C. Evans.
Charles Evans 25 |
I think I have everything tidied up now. Whatever has happened with the politician, the baatezu will not be pursuing the matter at the Sanctum of the Sun any longer.
(There was that three day deadline the Nstrivaxon alias had given which I felt the need to do something to more clearly address then the more general cover provided by the emergency tea-party.)
Patrick:
With regard to Jacque, there was some discussion on one of the threads and I had made it clear that I considered that there was a considerable distance between the location of the Eyrie and the Brackenspur Mountains; that they were not, in my mind, part of the same chain - and that one edge of the Great Forest runs along one side of the Brackenspur Mountain. (In my mind, for what it's worth, probably the west side.) The dwarves who came to the Eyrie from the Brackenspur mountains used omniportals and tunnelled a way to finally get to the Eyrie, and the Grey Wanderer had been assuming (I think I mentioned in a post) that Jacque would likely have to use omniportals for travel to/from the Place of the Winds.
If you do want to run the bonfire plotline at any point, you can post that the furs and cognac show up outside of Jacque's cottage one day (together with any other instructions as to which woods to use, etc) and take it from there.

For now, I am going to keep to occasional random havoc-causing posts by Lucinda Darkeyes, intended to add a little colour to some scenes and characters, but not to move things generally in any particular direction.
I'm not really sure what to say. Other than a general apology. For losing my cool, for making a scene, for being a bit of a jerk. To Charles especially, I am so sorry that I made you feel like you were unwanted in the game. I am really wishing I had a do-over button right now. Yes, I was frustrated, but that was no excuse for being a jerk. I'm really sorry.
And since I'm in an apologizing mood, I'm really sorry for anything else I might have done that stepped on someone's toes. Let me know what that might have been and I will do my best to change it.
In response to this, I can't forget what has happened, but I can forgive it, if that makes any kind of sense to you....

Folks, apologies for the silence, I have been trying to catch up on a lot of things that went south last week because of my accident and the ensuing paperwork tsunami. Also refinancing the house at the same time, and dealing with that mountain of paper as well. I will try and get on tonight if there is anything left waiting on any of my avatars, just forge ahead and assume I/they are going along with the plan.[/ooc]

Pauses in midst of task of checking barrels.
Sandreef? Oh that's a place with annoying bankers, which really needs cheering up. Well I have some special presents here...
Pats barrels.
I have some really pretty alchemical goo in several of these which is green and sticks to things and slowly dissolves them making wonderful 'bloop, bloop, bloop' bubbles as it does. And in another one, there's a formula which does something with all the ox-y-gen in the water or something weird like that, making it react and turn into more water. I'm not too certain on the alchemy of it, but apparently it makes it really difficult for people to breathe underwater, so they gasp and their eyes bulge, and they flap around a lot in a really comical manner before falling over.
And, once everyone's finished enjoying those, I have some prismatic sea-slug eggs in the last barrel, with magic on them so that they hatch and grow to maturity, really fast.
They charge around the streets of a place, shining their rainbow lights at everything and the really fun thing is that they're immune to salt being sea-slugs. I mean it's always a shame when nasty people sprinkle salt on normal slugs and they curl up hurting like that....
Now if only I could remember where Sandreef is... Somewhere underneath the Great Eyrie of Ancient Bazaars, was it?

I can read Euclidean maps really well. I can read non-Euclidean maps amazingly well. It's just that I often get mixed up over whether a map is Euclidean or non-Euclidean and end up somewhere else entirely other than where I was aiming to be.
I often just turn up in places. I find out that simply arriving somewhere is much easier than trying to rely on reading a map the right way to get there.
I mean there was the one occasion I was supposed to deliver a troupe of black-dragon hatchlings to a place called Atlantis, to help the rulers keep the floodwaters out, and ended up somewhere else called Azlantis eight thousand years earlier on a different world altogether because the dumb map turned out not to be non-Euclidean. And the people there had some sort of important crisis like the sky was falling on their heads, and they were very impolite about fifty odd black-dragon hatchlings showing up in the middle of it.
