Liberty's Edge

Chugging along the red tinted river, Captain Esteban points to the overgrown south bank as a reminder of the constant dangers that you face on these waters. Resting half-sumerged on that shore is another wheelboat, possibly the twin of your own. The center of the wrecked boat's hull gapes with a huge hole and the entire superstructure is missing, where some massive explosion ripped through the vessel. Faintly visible on its moss-slick bow are the words Lady Fortune.

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Sheldon comes on deck & is looking about after a good night sleep.

Liberty's Edge

Its going to be a hot and muggy day, rain falls every few hours for only a couple of minutes. The boat slowly moves up the river (about 3 mph) and you have no problems most of the morning. As afternoon comes the heat is really starting to get to some of you who are not used to it. Anyone wearing armour feels it even more so than the others. As you pass along a narrow spot in the river a group of crocodiles splashes into the water off their resting bank and head for the boat intent on lunch coming to them.

Anyone wearing armour needs to make a Fort. save roll. Also need init rolls. I am going to say everyone is currently on deck so you all can see the crocs. I don't remember if any of the mercs are alive, do you?? Call me tomorrow if you want me to walk you through the rolling of dice and pasting it in the game thread!

[ooc/ I'm going to be gone til late maybe midnight my time. I'll see if I have the juice to call then!]

Liberty's Edge

The day just keeps getting hotter which is a bother for the group but now it has bigger problems coming there way, three big crocs are heading towards the boat, they look nasty and hungry, only their eyes can be seen. Seelah is slightly over come by the heat, her heavy plate armour keeping in the heat and starting to roast her. She sits down heavily along the cabins wall and takes a drink of water to cool herself down.

Init order Sheldon, Lem, Harsk, Seelah, Crocs.
Harsk has survival skill which he can use to aid people with for the heat issue. Roll a survival check! Also roll any attacks and state everyones actions!

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Assumption -- all of us are on the top deck.

Harsk goes to assist Seelah to revive her and also help her remove her armor. Seelah cooperates to remove her armor.

I yell out that I will magically protect Seelah after she removes her armor. In the meantime, I cast mirror image.

Lem casts mirror image.

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Harsk's survival role to assist Seelah

Harsk uses survival skills to assist Seelah (1d20 8=27)

Liberty's Edge

The crocs move in, the first bangs into the boat changing its course a bit. The second tries to gain the ledge of the boat but is unable too. The third moves and attacks the paddle wheel but gets smacked in the face. The captain yells out, Do not let them damage the wheel or we will all be sitting ducks here!!!! while he attempts to get the boat on the right path and trying to stay away from the river bank where the crocs might get the advantage. Faruq takes a swing with his falchion at the one croc attempting to leap into the boat but he misses, only damaging the water...........

After her armour is removed and with Harsk's help, Seelah starts to feel her old self again......

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Mirror Images: 4 each:

Mirror Images Sheldon, Lem (1d4 2=4, 1d4 2=4)

Sheldon goes to Seelah and casts Mage Armor +4 on her.

Lem sings inspire courage +1 on rolls.

Harsk makes x-bow attk on Croc near wheel: 1d20 8=15

Seelah uses her bow to take a shot at the Wheel Croc: Seelah's bow (1d20 5=14)

[/occ What did the merc do?]

Lem's +1 was not added to Harsk and Seelah's role!

Liberty's Edge

The sun is beating down on everyone, even the multple Lem's and Sheldon's. Lem begins to sing out which bolsters his friends in their fight. Harsk grabs up his bow and launches an arrow into the croc swiming by the wheel, the croc trashes and then some more as another arrow penetrates the crocs leather hide from Seelah's bow. The croc at the wheel dives beneath the water and can't be seen for the moment. The other two crocs attempt to climb up onto the boat but they are having a hard time finding grips to aid them.......

Next round! Roll damage for both Seelah and Harsk! It might save time if you roll attack and damage in the same post so I don't have to wait if you kill one or not. I usually post after work when I am most awake and creative, I am not a morning person as you well know hehe. Oh and so you know- [Bracket then ooc then bracket] then what you want to say then [bracket then backslash/ then ooc again then bracket]. That is the process with all of the html stuff, for example:[bold]text[/bold] will put your text into bold print which is what I use when someone is speaking to someone. Hope that helps a bit, doesn't really matter to me though because we are PLAYING DND finally!!! Chicks will dig us now!!!LOL

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Seelah's dmg then Harsk's (1d8 3=7, 1d10 1=5)

PS I didn't add Lem's +1 which I think goes to damage too.

Sheldon casts magic missile at one croc trying to get in:

Sheldon's three magic missiles (1d4 1=4, 1d4 1=4, 1d4 1=3) = 11 damage.

Now counting Lem's +1.

Lem attk with sling at croc trying to get in.

Lem's attk role (1d20 9=22)

Lem's damage: Was -1 but using magic bullet and courage. (1d3 1=4)

Seelah's bow attk

1d20 6=18

dmg: 1d8 4=7

Harsk's xbow attk on croc:

using a magic bolt. (1d20 10=16, 1d10 3=8)

Liberty's Edge

After mumbling in a language that can be only arcane, Sheldon makes some gestures and points his finger at the croc, bolts of magic fly out and thud into the croc, it makes a angry grow and then another as it takes another hit from Lem's sling. Meanwhile Seelah and Harsk target the other croc trying to get in and both hit it as it tries to board. It suceeds and is now on deck going after the first morsel it sees. The other croc drops back into the water after being hit and begins again to board the boat......

Can you role play out your actions, make your charcters come to life so to speak. It will make things more fun for me and I can get even more creative feeding off it! For examples check out some of my other games and see how my players do it. Cheers and goodnight!

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Sensing the dangerous and possibly deteriorating situation, Sheldon discreetly casts "shield" on himself and moves back from the railing of the upper deck. +4 to armor.

Harsk using his rapid reload and point blank shot skills doesn't flinch -- he aims to put a x-bow bolt directly down the throat of his emerging enemy:

Harsk's attk & dmg -- includes bard courage and point blank bonus. (1d20 10=27, 1d10 3=4)

[/occ argh, great hit, little damage!]

Seelah sensing the danger moves to intercept and thwart the croc's advance. Going deep within herself and trusting in her Goddess to protect her more than her missing armor, she strikes in a grant sweep to the side of the croc's elongated head:

Seelah's attk & dmg include bard song (1d20 10=18, 1d8 4=7)

Lem is feeling a bit skittish with such large ferocious creatures on the ship, so silence is the way for this bard today. Lem seeks to Hide in a strategic location from where he will be able to strike at an opportune time or rush to aid his friends.

Lem's Hide: (1d20 10=19)

Ta da!

Liberty's Edge

With the croc on board, Sheldon takes precautions and waves his arms about while mumbling arcane words, he finishes with a flick of his wrist, a piece of cured leather floats up into the air and then disappears. Sheldon can feel the armour settle in and feels safer. Lem uses his natural abilites and smallness to hide himself from the crocs. Harsk launches a bolt into the croc doing damage. Seelah swings her longsword down onto the crocs head and connects finishing off the croc, its life at an end. The other croc disappears under the water deciding its easy lunch is to hard and goes else where to find something else........Things quiet down and your group takes a deep breath as another threat as been taken care of at this time. And the heat continues to beats down on you..........

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Sheldon waits a few minutes then relaxes somewhat still a bit on edge. Sheldon's beloved owl flies about and sends her impressions back. Harsk travels about the boat along the edge of the deck but not too close cautiously scanning the water. His x-bow is at the ready & loaded.

Seelah sensing the chance to rest returns to the cabin, draging her armor with her. She is wondering about the value of plate armor in such hot and humid conditions and if there is anything else that can be done to protect herself yet be able to rise to any challenge.

Lem is laughing that he thought to hide, but better safe than sorry. Since no one was injured there's nothing to do to help. He did lose a magic bullet & he's bummed about that. He decides to look to see if it may have landed in the boat.

Sheldon asks the Captain if we can expect more such attacks and is their a better way to be "on guard?"

Liberty's Edge

The captain kicks the merc who is hiding behind some crates as he talks to Sheldon about security measures. Get up you worthless piece of gator bait! Next time you hide like that I am going to have Faruq feed you to the crocs...... The scared merc jumps to work, saying yes captain, and heads towards the front of the boat to keep look out. The river narrows and curves near the fringe of the jungle that paces you to the south, until it has actually grown out and over the river for a short distance. Temporarily, you push though a twilight-green tunnel as the trees enclose both banks and meet overhead with intertwined branches. Captain Esteban tells you this will be how the entire second half of your journey will be after you reach the heart of the Mwangi Expanse.

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Sheldon's owl comes home to roost -- the danger of too many predators in the above branches creates a slight nervousness in him. Sheldon & Lem will be the night watch, Seelah & Harsk the day. Due to the heat, they will take they will partially take their armor off when at rest, but have it nearby (leaving things like leggings on and forearm pieces.

Watch will be on the top level.

Sheldon takes time to journal:

"We have traveled several days up the forbidding river. Accosted by watery gargoyles who struck suddenly from the depths covered by a booming storm, they left two of our companions dead, one pulled back into the water to feed the gargoyles unsavory need. Traveling further, the heat became oppressive, almost downing my metal armored companion, in the midst of an attack by ferocious crocodiles. We survived and now proceed deeper into the jungle and upriver. The branches now cover the length of the river. We have very little room to maneuver and very much the potential to be surprised."

The group remains mostly quiet. There is an ominous feeling about. Lem is wondering if he found his bullet? He asks Sheldon to see if he can find it by magic means and Sheldon with a wave Sheldon goes within and with a few gestures begins to scan all about the ship and curiously wonders about all the magic around.

Seelah is having a small crisis of confidence in her skills. Who is she without her armor? Has she followed the right path? She keeps her doubts to herself figuring the trip up the river will provide the answers to her questions.

Harsk is Harsk. He is simply alert, and as always a bit gruff though with a burning desire to move up the river and meet what will come deep inside his Dwarven heart.

Sheldon spends time wondering if he can fly deep within his inner acces to magic. So he spends time contemplating this, seeking the inner formula that would let him ascend the skies.

Lem asks Sheldon, have you found it yet?

Captain's Log

4th Toilday of the month of Sarenith
Day 2
The last two attacks have been met with competent adventures that we have hired on for this mission unlike the mercs the consortium has given us. Two are already dead and the last is a coward. The consortium's money has been wasted in my opinion. I will have to be more strict on the selection of mercs next time. We have entered the narrower part of the river with the jungle covering our passage. This is good and bad, it is more dangerous with the jungle so close but the shade will keep things cooler and enable the warriors to don their armour without any issues. the only issue so far is the little one searching for his magiacal rock he lost in the fight with the giant crocs, but know one has seen it as of yet, it must have rolled overboard. Even magical means have failed, I feel bad for the little one but this is a hard life we live We are making good time and the boat is running fine so far, hopefully this will continue to the conclusion of our mission.
Kalim Esteban

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Lem reluctantly gives up on his quest for his magic rock. He spends his free time lightly strumming on his instrument, not to make too much noise, but working out songs and stories in his head.

Harsk & Seelah realize that they can now "don" armor and do so. Seelah feels much like her old self and thanks her goddess for the blessing.

Sheldon is more quiet and introspective. He and Lem will take the evening watch where his owl, Puff, will use his keen eyes to assist the watch.

Life is good . . . for now.

Liberty's Edge

The night goes by quietly, the boat is passing through a calm part of the river. Its darker here with the jungle overgrowth arching across the river. Morning comes and the night watch retires. As the night watch sleeps the river picks up pace and the boat is moving slower against the current. Normal jungle noises can be heard as the boat moves along. The merc, Danner is at the front of the boat keeping watch and staying away from everyone else tired of the looks he gets from everyone, his lack of acting during times of trouble has gotten him on the bad side of the Half Orc First Mate. The Captain half steers half dozes at the wheel but has the First Mate keeping an eye on it during times of sleep.

Day watch needs to make spot checks!

Harsk then Seelah's Spot Check. Note Seelah would likely get a wisdom bonus but it's not on her skills list, also it's not clear if that's added into Harsk's -- we can just go with the basics, but please keep it in mind if a dragon eats us all by surprise!!! (1d20 8=16, 1d20=11)

Liberty's Edge

The day goes by uneventful and daylight is waning on the Vanji. You should reach Whitebridge Station on the morrow. A shout from both Harsk and Seelah from the front of the boat brings your attention to the front of the boat. Coming towards you out of the gloom, a large white form floats upon the water down the center of the river. Captain Esteban slows the sternwheeler to await the strange appatition. As it draws closer it is identifiable as a flat bottomed boat, apparently unoccupied. Captain Esteban yells down to secure the boat. Faruq and the merc begin to throw grappling hooks over to get ahold of the boat. Boat keep missing and Faruq is getting angry and blaming the merc and yells to your crew for help........

Harsk gets a +8 on his spot checks and the bonus would be already figured into the +8. Seelah would get a basic d20 roll plus wisdom!

Harsk of course first sees the boat, but initially does not see it as a matter of major concern. Though harkening to the call, he & motioning to Seelah, together they go to the lower deck, still looking inside the boat and looking around for a rope or other grappling item to throw.

Liberty's Edge

Both easily find rope and grappling hooks and help secure the boat. The Captain come down to see whats going on with the boat. Its totally unoccupied but holds a single fly covered backpack soaked in tacky blood. Also the backpack has two thistle-tipped arrows pierced into it. The Captain identifies the boat as one of the punts from Whitebridge station........

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Harsk reluctantly, but necessarily finds a pole to pick up the backpack and bring it on board. He tells Seelah to wake Sheldon & Lem.

When Sheldon arrives, Harsk points to the backpack. Sheldon whispers a few things and scans the backpack and boat for magic. Lem cautiously approaches the backpack with a rag covering his mouth and nostrils. He scans for how to open the backpack and using a small stick makes the attempt.

The pack is easily opened by Lem and all that is found is a few rations and other basic supplies. The Captain calls for the boat to be cut away and lays anchor in the middle of the river due to the growing darkness and the distressing find. He orders a double watch for the night.....

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Sheldon & Lem begin the watch giving Seelah & Harsk two hours to rest. Sheldon teases Lem for using a stick to open the pack -- Lem's eye's glisten as he tells Sheldon that he'll have to find a way to open the next bloody backpack we find . . .

Liberty's Edge

Whitebridge station suddenly rises out of the haze that stood on the river all day. As if in anticipation of your arrival, the wind rises and clears the air, giving you a perfect view of the famous station that sits upone the trade route cutting through the heart of the Mwangi Expanse. The river flows through a narrow gorge, where two massive columns formed from a dozens of tree trunks, bound into clusters around stone pilings, and sunk into the riverbed support this giant span. The bridge rises forty feet over the Vanji, from the top of one tall bank to the other. A large pier and tower of some sort rise from the near bank, and a multi-level caravanserai can be seen up the bank beyond. It is the bridge itself that commands immediate attention, arching above the river and bearing buildings and fortifications all along its length. The shield of the Aspis Consortium flaps gently from a stanchion atop the bridges central supports, but that is the only movement to be seen at what should be a bustling trade station. The only sound is the gurgling of the muddy river. Captain Esteban slows up and calls for a hands on deck no worried at the lack of people. He is slowly making his way to the main pier.......

Male Human Sorcerer 5

The characters four are now on deck in anticipation of trouble. From Sheldon's arm, looking into his eyes, Puff takes aloft to give an overview of the city. Having pre-arranged their strategy of exploration, Sheldon makes a few arcane gestures and casts a flow of mage armor around himself then prepares to disembark. Lem will move with Sheldon remaining close. Harsk and Seelah will be a team too. They have come to a somewhat grudging mutual respect. Harsk will be armed with x-bow drawn and loaded, Seelah with her trusty long-sword at the ready.

Seelah is scanning to docks for any trace of evil. She and Harsk will disembark first. At this point on, the party considers itself under its own command.

As soon as the boat touches the pier Harsk and Seelah make their move over the boat. Seelah feels the satisfaction of solid land where the combination of her plate armor and shimmering long sword can be deadly in the service of good.

A few moments after Lem and Sheldon who are actually becoming friends bound lightly to the pier, hanging back but ready to follow their companions who will make their way to the station. Lem is readying to play a ballad to inspire courage in his companions, as surprise is surely not an option. If his feet touch the ground for more than a few seconds without attack he will begin the melody on his flute performing his favorite ballad about a halfling who outwits an ogre!

They have come to do a job and for the adventure. It now begins. They are ready and yet sense they are stepping into much more than they bargained for. Sheldon reaches out to Puff telepathically . . .

Liberty's Edge

The boat bounces slightly against the dock and Faruq ties off the boat. The team moves out onto the main pier and heads up the steps some 40 feet above the river. Once to the top you see a paddock to your right with a few small shanties for laborers and a guest quarters/warehouse stand straight ahead. The bridge is fortified by two large gates but at this time stand unsecured and and open.......

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Lem and Sheldon take positions where they can see down the bridge but also support their cohorts should trouble arrive at the quarters. Quietly Harsk moves a bit out in front of Seelah and they both move toward the entrance to the quarters on the side of the river, keeping a close look out for anything out of the ordinary!

Sheldon and Lem stand at the corner of the Toll Booth and look down the bridges lenth and see nothing but scattered debris across the length. Its quiet. Harsk moves towards the guest quarters and takes a peek inside seeing it empty from what he can tell. Off to the side stands a well, along the side of it he can see multiple big fat black flies hovering about what looks to be bloodstains. He also spots signs of battle in the area.....

I gave you a few things to see but you need to make your check rolls if you want more specific things to learn about whats going on, as we proceed. It will speed things up and I won't have to be vague in my post, you don't want to be surprised now do you, hehe. Even though halloween is almost here, lol!

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Searching across the bridge from the toll house

Sheldon then Lem's spot checks (1d20, 1d20-1=[3], [1, -1])

Brilliant!!!

Harsk & Seelah are looking around, with Harsk moving closer to the well, Seelah keeping an eye on him but also looking at the windows and door of the quarters:

Harsk then Seelah's spot checks! (1d20 8, 1d20 2=[18, 8], [2, 2])

Game on!

Liberty's Edge

The haze of the afternoon's heat makes it hard to see for some. The bridge itself is very quiet, no movement can be seen. Harsk confirms that there was a battle here by the well, multiple foot prints, blood splatters and many bugs hurrying in for a free lunch. Seelah checks around the guest quarters and finds traces of battle here too but no bodies anywhere are found.......

Male Human Sorcerer 5

With an ominous foreboding, the party remembers the reputation of the "savages" in the jungle. Signaling to Lem to keep a watch down the bridge, Sheldon opens the main door to the toll both and looks around the room

1d20=1

Again, he will need a vision check after this adventure or maybe magical male enhancements -- to vision of course!

Seelah goes to the door of the guard house. She enters and looks around:

Seelah's Spot (1d20 2=10)

Not quite, brilliant, but a bit better!

Harsk moves to the well and looks in:

Harsk's spot in the well! (1d20 8=20)

If he sees nothing, he will then begin to track the blood trail if there is one. What should he role for that?

Male Human Sorcerer 5

PS What's Sheldon's Puff seeing??? lol

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Puff's spot check -- PS Sheldon gets 3 on spot checks in shadows -- such as toll booths eh? Sometimes it's good to have a familiar! (1d20=14)

If nothing is seen and Puff feels safe, he will circle around and then land on a shadowy perch near Sheldon.

Liberty's Edge

Looking down the well he spots nothing out of the ordinary except that the well looks to be on the high side from all of the rain. The Toll booth in empty of people and looks like a normal office type room. No signs of battle can be seen here. Seelah makes her way onto the bridge to check out a building that looks to be where guards would be stationed. As soon as she steps onto the bridge however an arrow flys out, Puff shouts a warning in Sheldon's mind of the attack as he looks around the toll booth.

Roll init for Seelah, and Lem since he can see her. Harsk would use his track feat. As the rest of the party enters into the fight roll their inits then.

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Initiative Roles:

Seelah, Harsk, Sheldon, Lem roles (if not for now then when appropriate (1d20=7, 1d20 3=19, 1d20 2=11, 1d20 3=12)

Seelah falls back to cover near Lem while bravely facing the area from which she was attacked with sword drawn and shield up yet moving for cover and re-grouping. After all, she does not know if this is truly an enemy or the remnants of the garrison! Seelah yells out loudly, "we are friends from the company come to protect the station, identify yourself and be at peace!"

Lem seeks cover but also is spotting what is out there!

Seelah & Lem's spot checks:

Seelah & Lem spot (1d20 2=18, 1d20=11)

If it's clearly bad & bearing down on Seelah, Lem will let a bolt fly and scream to distract!

Lem possible attack:

Lem can't let himself part with another magic bullet less he absolutely have too! (1d20 8=25, 1d3-1=2)

Remaining within the toll booth, Sheldon waves his hands and goes within, soon becoming invisible to the outside world. He makes his way cautiously to a window in the toll booth to see what he can see:

Spot check -- add Puff modifier if appropriate! (1d20=14)

Having been the most initiative, Harsk does his tracking:

Harsk's tracking (1d20 8=19)

Finding what he finds, upon hearing Seelah's exclamation, he quickly and quietly works his way to meet up with his comrades at the beginning of the bride, taking cover behind near the quarters searched by Seelah. His x-bow is at the ready with a magic bolt loaded and ready for dwarven battle. His face grimaces as he readies for what is ahead . . .

Liberty's Edge

Harsk moves around following the faint tracks and blood left by somebody or thing. He moves to take cover when he hears Seelah scream out in surprise and pain as she is hit by something. He takes cover by the guest quarters quickly readying his cross bow but from where he stands he can't see anyone but Lem by the toll booth. Lem jumps up and yells trying to distract whomever shot Seelah but he is to late as he sees an arrow hit her in the chest sending her back against the guard house wall. She is on the bridge right next to the little ally leading to the doors to the toll booth and the guard house. The bridges structure blocks coming from the guest quarter way and the bridge is also higher up than the ground there. It would be possible to climb but it would take some time.

Sheldon sneaks onto the bridge behind Seelah and slides into the ally and steps inside of the building. After a moment he hears from puff of an attack plus he can hear Seelah scream out in pain. He waves his arms about and becomes inseen to everyone. He moves to a window and looks out to see where the attacks came from but the only window faces out into the paddock. He does see Harsk bolt for cover by the guest quarters. Seelah slumps against the Guardhouse and slide on her bottom into the ally for cover from any more shots. Puff relays what he sees to Sheldon, an humanoid looking creature with pointy ears and wearing leaves and branches as clothing stands with bow drawn at the corner of the next building down on the opposite side of Seelah. That is the only person he sees at the moment.

Init order:
Bad guy
Harsk
Lem
Sheldon and Puff(Unless you want to roll a seperate init for Puff)
Seelah

Male Human Sorcerer 5

Harsk seeing the danger and that he cannot approach by the side of the bridge, goes to full run with the intent to make it to the corner of the toll house where knowing the danger he will plop down prone and look out from the corner for his target, x-bow ready!

Lem slightly and a bit harshly laughing to himself at his last action, quickly casts upon him self a charm to make the one become many:

1d4 2=5

Suddenly, the Lem becomes the Lemons! Six in fact! But only one real Lem! But they all hide behind cover for now.

Sheldon now invisible goes to the door of the toll booth, talking softly to Seelah as he opens "Seelah, it's me, I'll help you take the arrow out, you use your wand to help you." Hearing "no" from Seelah "I've got it." Sheldon moves close to her and let's her know she will soon be a much harder target for the "evil" archer. He goes within, and with a few gestures recently, done, the wounded Seelah fades from sight.

Seelah though needs no help as she rips the arrow from her body with a scream 1d20 2=11 Then, Seelah uses her wand of cure light wounds. I don't know the role for this!

Lem sees "See"lah disappear and understands. All six of them, shout to Harsk, "cover what you won't be able to see!" Knowing his friend Sheldon is up to his impressive tricks!

Harsk grunts, not totally understanding the call, but knowing with his comanions, something is about to happen.

What does Harsk see?

PS Puff is now hiding in the shadows!

Liberty's Edge

Same a cure light wounds spell 1d8 plus 1 per caster level!

All goes quiet on the bridge, no movement or sound except for the normal noise from the jungle. Harsh runs up and dives to the corner of the toll booth cross bow at ready. He sees no targets and is slightly distracted by the number of Lem's no moving about. He shakes his head thinking he will never get used to that trick. Sheldon helps out Seelah and speaks some arcane words making her unseen also as he is himself. Seelah grabs the arrow and yanks it out but lets out a louder scream than before. She looks at the arrow and notices it is made out of thorny barbs and not a normal tip. Her shoulder is now bleeding more than before as the arrow did more damage to her (2 hps dam). She pulls her wand and begins to activate it.........

Here's Seelah's role -- I should have been clearer -- I don't know the caster level! 1d8=3 Please add the caster level to this.

Seelah feels some relief, but may need another round of care.

Sheldon tells Seelah the plan. "Take care of yourself for a moment. I'll go Harsk. The three of us will then move forward down the road, together on my signal moving quietly but taking evasive action. Lem will cover and be a distraction."

In the meantime, Harsk is scanning. Sheldon as quietly as he can and moves through the other toll booth but talks to Harsk to say "it's me coming."

Sheldon moves upon Harsk and with his deep going within, and Harsk's consent, Harsk quickly turns unseen. Lem watches this in amusement.

Harsk draws his great axe and is looking particularly grim and he's even grimmer knowing that no one can see him -- he likes it when people see him grim!

Sheldon calls from cover to Lem "You know what to do, little one. We're going to have some fun!"

Lem plays another round of courage music and with a glint in his eye, ponders letting one of his magic bullets fly! In his song he calls out to the boat below, asking for them to provide covering fire if they be brave enough to engage!

Liberty's Edge

I think this is left up to the DM or since this is a pre-gen character, it would be the same level a the character. Either way we will say the caster level is 4! So she gets 7 hp back! It also seem I forgot to roll for her first damage which is 3, so she is back to full health. The boat is 40 feet below and about 35 feet away from the bridge, a very difficult shot but not impossible. Where is Puff hiding on the map?

The bridge stays quiet except for a soft song on the air. No movement can be seem on the bridge. Hearing the shout of pain from Seelah, Faruq stands on one side of the pilot house for cover and has his longbow out ready to shoot any enemies.

Sheldon quietly taps Harsk and whispers "I will touch Seelah. Let us walk as quietly as we can near the walls you on the left with Seelah, me on the right. Seelah will follow you."

They set out, and Sheldon approaches Seelah and after a moment repeats the instructions. Sheldon says in a soft voice with hands cupping his mouth to Lem "in just a few moments little one, have some fun."

Sheldon then sets out along the right. All are crouching & moving in a somewhat zig zag just in case.

Lem then jumps out & with a flow of . . . himself! He rolls, he laughs & he looks for a target!

Puff has been hiding behind the station house. Puff quietly sets off and climbs height. At about 200 ft, he will circle above the battle keeping an eye below. He will curve up around the bride on his ascent, bravely exposing himself but allowing him to see along the main throughfare and the left side of the bridge. He feels Sheldon's pride in his efforts.

Liberty's Edge

The group moves out and takes fire right away, or should we say Harsk does. Arrows streak out at him and at the Lem's who are all dancing around trying to distract the enemy. Puff calls down to Sheldon that he spies the one he saw earlier climbing the wall of the next building trying to gain the roof(The station house-still out of site of your group!). He also spots the shooter on another roof top on Sheldon's side of the bridge(Officer's quarters). He also spots movement on the far side of the bridge now(By the smithy). As he tries to gain altitude he comes under fire from the far end of the bridge.

I'll roll the attack rolls when I get up. Go ahead and state your next actions and make spot checks to see if you can pick up any of the new activities. The roof gives partial cover so you know which add +4 to the defenders AC!
