And another version of Cuckoo's Nest.
Finally, Edip Akbayram DID do a decent version of Deniz Ustu Koprurur!
I've done a version as well, but it's much, much crappier than the one above. As you might reasonably expect.

One (possibly the only) advantage of having to do overtime is that I end up making lots of new discoveries, like:
I have no idea where this is from.
Heavy Polish prog. I really, really like it.
'Yellow Moon' is on loads of comps, but it's the worst track on the album. This one's much better. Promise!
Not 'Nord Lead 3', but still great.

Oh!
...and Astra - The Weirding and The Black Chord - Best space rock released this generation!
Youtube Link 1. Very good indeed
Seems to be about 75% Mellotron - 3bn extra points for that...
EDIT: Also came across Ghost Riders in the Sky by The Ramrods. Included, because it didn't seem to fit at all with the previous two tunes.

The whole albums are very, very good, although Black chord ends... abruptly.

I worked in a used record store for about a decade.
It was nothing like Empire Records nor was it like High Fidelity. :(
I loved the year I worked at a record store. The year of Yerself is Steam and Loveless.
Right Now: Dawn - Eloy, Ocean - Eloy, To Shatter All Accord - Discipline.

I worked in a Hastings when "EmpireRecords" was on dvd. We tried to make it quirky like the movies, but we got squashed by the upper management. Management also wanted every store in every town to look the exact same as the home base in Albuquerque, so after awhile the quirky people were let go and eventually that store became an Incredible Pizza.
There's a HUGE latino community here and we catered to them heavily with our music and dvd selection. Had an entire section of latino bands on cassettes and a LOT of spanish-speaking VHS for rent. They all paid with large bills (20s or 50s) so that we had to give them change. My Spanish was about as bad as their English. Anyway, that was just at our store. Our "buyer" set it up that way and the store got a lot of money because we were the only one in about a 2-hour drive that had the selection. When the WalMartification happened, they sent all the unsold stock back...or maybe we sold it at a Sidewalk Sale.
We did the DarkSide Wiz of Oz mashup several times on our big screens (and someone was on the volume knob during Money). I remember playing Star Fox on the 64 on those big screens too.
...and one thing that still kills me...one of our big sidewalk sales we were GIVING away copies of Tool's first EP on vinyl for 50cents or something. I bought one just to have and now Ive seen them sell for 100$ or so. I should have bought the whole pile.
Ive been listening to these bands this past week.
EDIT: LOVE the NOFX cover, Mr Shiny!

The fact that this cover of this song exists amuses the hell out of me.
Technically I'm cheating because I'm not, in fact, currently listening to it, but the cover you shared made me need to share this one.
So much hilarity and awesome in a single cover. I didn't know a George Michael song could be done that way... and done better. Happy Sigh. :)

Some 80s Aussie tunes that I love, although, they may have all expatriated.
The Church
(I have always imagined that the bagpipe solo is a tribute to AC/DC.
And one from New Zealand, which, I know, isn't Australia:

But what we really want from Australia is a psychedelic version of Baa Baa Black Sheep.. Or maybe not. Please yourselves.
This week: Mostly Victor Jara. Hurray for our (my?) side!
