We had our second child last month (not on a game night... my wife loves me), and we our now the proud parents of two beautiful girls.
Our oldest daughter, three years-old, started off as an excited big sister. She loves to get the bottle. She loves to hold her little sister. She loves to be protective (by telling other people that they can't see "my baby sister!").
And now she loves to compete for our love and attention. Usually she wants to sit in the lap of whoever has the baby. Sometimes she fake sneezes so we will say "bless you." But today marks the official day of the start of sibling rivalry.
My wife was telling me that the baby has a rash, or an allergic reaction to something. The oldest one pops out with "I want a rash, too!"
According to Bill Cosby, we're now officially parents. And, ironically, we saw the same thing in a Baby Blues comic strip a couple of weeks ago.
Congratulations and Good luck, Jake. I only have the one kid (and it will probably remain so, if my wife has her way), but when I was 3 and my little sister was born, I was so put off by her constant crying, that I demanded that my parents take her back to the hospital and trade her in for a sister that wasn't "broken"...
It is 7 years late but congrats anyway!!!!
