Rising near the dangerous cliffs of Darkwood, the haunted manor is an old building made of dark rock with crimson rooftops. It is said it was inhabited by a long-dead noble family rumored to have a relationship with obscure deities of the past. People of the nearby town say the family unearthed something from the ancient circle of monoliths—something that changed their lives. No one dares to approach the manor, though a strange woodcutter named Isaac lives near the manor. Some say that smugglers make their hideout beneath the manor, in the underground dock; this rumour might be confirmed by the strange dancing lights one can see during the night around and in the manor.

The manor is said to be haunted because it lies empty. But, oddly, all its contents are perfectly preserved. A thick layer of dust covers everything, but no part of the building shows signs of damage. No one trying to claim the manor has sucessfully passed the first night inside the dark walls.

    Maps include:
  • Darkwood Cliffs: An area map depicting the manor, the Darkwood cliffs, the circle of monoliths and the woodcutter’s cottage.
  • Haunted Manor—Ground Floor: The ground floor belongs to servants’ apartments, guard barracks, kitchen and warehouses. A small courtyard featuring a well and a portico is located in the middle of the building. From the courtyard you can access to a small chapel and the dining room, as well as to the stables. Four spiral staircases lead up to the first floor and down to the dungeon. A couple of marble-finished large staircases lead to the first floor from the foyer.
  • Haunted Manor—First floor: The first floor was the “noble” floor, housing nobles’ apartments featuring rich, marble-covered bathrooms and lush furnishings. A wide hallway, flanked by grim-looking stone statues of strange men, leads to the nobles’ wing as well as to the library and dining wings. The library remains absolutely untouched, with even some open books on the tables.
  • Haunted Manor—Dungeon: Part of the dungeon is now a warehouse and a dock serving daring smugglers who don’t believe the rumours floating around the manor. Still they don’t dare to venture far into the dungeon or the manor, using only a small part of the dungeon as dock and storage. The rest of the dungeon features three crypts and some secret rooms where secrets too horrible to be revealed lie hidden.
  • Woodcutter’s Cottage and Circle of Monoliths: The woodcutter’s cottage is a large wooden building consisting of one large room and a wood storage area. Isaac the woodcutter dwells in the large room, which features a fireplace, a workbench, and tables and beds. The circle of monoliths is an ancient monument of unknown origins. It features a large area encircled by ancient standing stones, and a blood-spattered altar. The blood on the altar doesn’t seem very old.

The Blueprints product line offers you old-fashioned blueprint-style maps for your adventures and campaigns. Each map includes a blueprint version and a standard black-and-white version. The maps are all vector-based for maximum print resolution. Despite their old-fashioned appearance, each map offers a degree of customization by taking full advantage of pdf technology. A small control bar (which will not be printed) on each map allows you to turn the grid on and off, eliminate the room numbers, fill the walls, or hide doors and furniture.

    New Features Added!
  • "Rule the Dungeon" feature implemented
  • Enhanced customization (now doors and furniture are separate, for example)
  • Alternative hexagonal grid now available
  • "North" mark now available and orientable
  • Master control panel allows you to control all the maps at once
  • Buttons for printing only blue maps or black and white maps
  • NOTE: You must use Adobe Acrobat 6+ in order to use all the features of this product

Each 0one's Blueprints product features a classic fantasy adventure location: a dungeon, a keep, a temple complex, a thieves' guild and so on. You can use these maps as reference to build your own adventures or simply have them at hand in case your players go in an unexpected direction during the campaign.

While offering you the best quality, these products are really inexpensive.

FullStarFullStarFullStarFullStarFullStar An RPG Resource Review
Reviewer: Megan Robertson

This fine setting from the Blueprints series depicts a large house - verging on a stately home rather than a mere manor. It sits on cliffs overlooking the sea and, unless you need this substantial home for some lord within your campaign, the underlying idea is that it is believed to be haunted. This belief stems from the fact that it remains empty yet all the furnishings and fittings remain untouched, if a bit dusty. Oh, and strange lights are sometimes seen at night.

The house itself has 2 floors plus an underground level, and you also get a map of the surrounding area and one of its nearest neighbour - a woodcutter who lives near some rather strange standing stones. All of these come in black and white or 'blueprint' form, and are customisable by use of the 'Rule The Dungeon' controls. These can be set on a map by map basis, or you can control the entire set of maps from a master control. This includes showing furniture, a scale grid and even adding a compass rose (north pointer) to each map - you can, of course, decide which direction is north.

Just looking at it starts to give me ideas for adventures in which the house might feature... definitely one to add to the collection.
