Part Two of the Carrion Crown Adventure Path is here!

The Beast has been captured! All of Lepidstadt rejoices as word spreads that this infamous creature, blamed for everything from plagues to unexplained murder, is ready for trial—and its execution. Pyres are set and the people hunger to see the Beast burned for all of their ills, but things are not as they seem in Pathfinder Adventure Path #44: Trial of the Beast.

Following the wishes of their friend Professor Lorrimor (The Haunting of Harrowstone), the PCs find themselves pulled into finding the innocence (or guilt) of the Beast and charged with keeping the trial just, even for a creature such as the Beast. The crimes are foul, but the answers begin to peel away the layers shrouding the horror that lurks in Ustalav and the plots of the Whispering Way.

Included in this Adventure Path is more information about Pharasma, the goddess of birth, death and fate. With details about her faith, holidays, relations with other gods, and planar allies, this is the definitive article about Our Lady of Graves.

The Esoteric Order of the Palatine Eye, a group of nobleman philosophers with origins in Osirian mysticism is also covered in this volume, as well as the continuing story of Laurel Cylphra. Four new creatures await as well—the boruta, several new skeletons, the skin stealer, and Pharasma’s herald, the Steward of the Skein.

Accessories complete the outfit (or Adventure Path, in this case)! The Carrion Crown Item Cards, Map Pack: Crypts, and Flip-Mat: Necropolis are ready and waiting to use in your game!

Stretched between the lamplight and the cigarette ash
in the corner of the city where the markets crashed
There are boxes of the lonely here and fires of hope
We built a monster

We can take a bit of red a but of white and blue
From across the Atlantic laying trails to you
A little flash of lightning and some bully boy charm
We built a monster

This thing can cross oceans in its seven league boots
It can chew the money tree right down to its roots
The ship of a state can go under in minutes
You don't know the flood is coming until you're swimming in it.

It ain't come from the hungry it ain't come from the bored
It ain't tramping out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
It spins like a tequila worm inside all of us
We built a monster

(from Thea Gilmore's song We Built a Monster
And so on.
