Animating a Bloody Skeleton (for PFS)

Rules Questions

I don't normally use d20pfsrd unless I'm in a hurry or Paizo is down, but I noticed that their version of Animate Dead has an "Editor's Note" allowing you to create variant Skeletons, such as Bloody or Burning Skeletons, while Paizo's version does not. I checked my 5th Printing CRB and Ultimate Magic and could not find any reference for doing this.

Does anyone know what book these rules may be found in? I'm trying to determine if this is something legal I can do in PFS. I've tried searching Additional Resources and the PFS forum and haven't been able to find anything. Or if a Developer chimed in at one time saying this was allowed, does anyone have a link to their comment?

Thanks in advance!

Bestiary, page 251 variant skeletons.

See variant skeletons.

Ah, thank you. Much appreciated. Although I suppose that means not legal for PFS. Darn.

they are in the monster books under the skeleton entry same for fast zombies ect. they are legal the rules to create them or just in that book.

Only a few things in the Bestiary are legal for PFS play, unless granted by another legal source. If animate dead in the Core Rulebook specifically allowed you to make bloody or burning skeletons, you could then get the stats for them from the Bestiary.

Maybe this might be better in the PFS forum?

It's funny, because I'm usually the first to comment whether a post is in the wrong forum or not, and I originally was going to post this in the PFS General Discussion area, but ultimately thought it was better here.

I mean, how often do you see posts start over there that ask, "Is <this> legal, in PFS?", and they get booted over here, since they're ultimately rules questions.
