About Synystr

History spoiler:
Synystr was born Zekk Morn,in the bowels of Coruscant to a spice addict father and a prostitute mother. His formative years were spent being looked after by his mother and her friends. When he was six he found he had a knack for computers. He would spend hours searching through the holonet, eager for any information he could find. At 14 his skills were finally noticed by a minor crime lord named Jaco Salu. Jaco caught the youth Zekk trying to slice into his system and traced the signal back to Zekk's home. Arriving with his armed thugs, Jaco thought the culprit was one of his rivals, his shock at finding out it was just a teenage boy who was bored was quickly overridden by his desire to use the boy against his enemies. Jaco had his thugs rough Zekk up for slicing into his system and then offered the youth the chance to work with him or die. Zekk wasn't stupid, he chose life. So it was for the next 4 years he helped Jaco by slicing into his rivals computers and providing him with the information to stay ahead of his competition.

After 4 years in the employ of Jaco, Zekk grew bored and arrogant in his skills at slicing. The first thing he did was transfer all of Jaco's credits onto a cred stick so he could afford transport off world. Then he sent information to one of Jaco's rivals, so that Jaco would be ambushed and hopefully killed. Assuming his former employer dead, he boarded a transport bound for Corellia. Jaco, however, survived the ambush and returned to find his money gone and Zekk fled from the planet. Jaco vowed to find Zekk and make him pay with his life. Zekk in the meantime arrived on Corellia and began an information broker business under his new alias, Synystr. Business was good for a couple of years until a trandoshan bounty named Salek Valco arrived. Salek had been hired by Jaco to track Zekk down and bring him back alive. Zekk barely managed to escape off planet before Salek found his new home. In order to get off planet fast enough, Zekk ended up stowing away on a ship named The Crimson Star.

The Crimson Star ended up being a pirate ship and its crew was none to happy to find a stow away. Thinking quickly Synystr offered them all his credits and his skill as a slicer in exchange for his life. The captain of the Crimson Star, a Duro named, Macen Sarin, accepted the offer. Over the next 2 years, Synystr worked as a slicer for the Crimson Pirates and eventually began receiving a fair cut of the plunder they took. However, Salek eventually tracked Zekk to the pirates as well and made a deal with Macen to have Zekk turned over to him. That night as he slept, Macen allowed Salek onto his ship and along with three of his crewmen snuck into Zekk's bunk and beat him unconsious with stun batons. When Zekk awoke he was bound and gagged inside an unfamiliar ship. The ship suddenly lurched as if rocked by turbolaser blasts. Unbeknownst to Zekk, Macen, after Salek left, decided to double cross Salek and turn Zekk in himself for the bounty as well as capture and sell the bounty hunter's ship. The boarding party soon found Zekk and untied him so he could run with them. Not knowing they were responsible for his current predicament they thought he would gladly follow them back to the Crimson Star. Synystr was not stupid though and quickly worked out what had happened. Rather than following the pirates, he stole one of their blasters and killed them. Panicking he searched their bodies and found a datapad. Using the datapad to slice into the unfamiliar ship's system he found that there were several escape pods on board that had not been jettisoned yet. Downloading a map of the ship he rushed to the escape pods and rigged them all to launch at the same time. Then he climbed in one and prayed that he could make it to a planet safely.

Through some miracle the pod that Synystr had jumped in was not shot at. Checking the charts he downloaded from the bounty hunter's ship, he found that he was near the planet Ord Mantell. Checking the escape pod, he calculated that he could barely make it into the atmosphere of the planet but after that he would run out of fuel. Sysystr strapped himself in and prayed he'd survive the landing. In the meantime, having beaten back the rest of the boarding pirates, Salek checked his ship only to find his escape pods had been jettisoned and Zekk was gone. He was growing tired of this game of cat and mouse with this slicer. No prey had managed to elude him for so long, nor escape from him once captured. Despite the bounty, Salek vowed he would kill Zekk for tainting his honor as a bounty hunter. The escape pod containing Zekk never made it to Ord Mantell. Instead he was picked up by an Imperial customs ship that was sitting in orbit around the planet. The Imperials interrogated Zekk as to his current situation. He explained that he was on a small passenger transport heading for Alderaan when their ship was attacked by pirates. Using his knowledge of the pirate's average raid, he spun a tale of woe about the bloodthirsty Crimson Pirates and how he only wanted to return to Alderaan to see his ailing uncle. The ruse worked and the Imperials sent out a transmission for reinforcements to deal with the pirates. They also agreed to take Zekk down to Ord Mantell with the next supply drop to the troops groundside. From their he could get another transport off planet.

Once on Ord Mantell, Zekk began looking for a way to make money. He soon found a old skilled technician named, Chell Narigin who needed an assistant. Working with Chell, he learned more about the inner workings of the machines he loved playing with. Chell become like the father Zekk never had. For the first time in his life he was happy. Eventually he started work on his own custom computer, one which he felt would insure he couldn't be traced so he could go back to work slicing for fun. The peace was not to last. Salek found him on Ord Mantell after only a couple of months and Chell was killed trying to protect Zekk. In rage at the closest thing to a father he had being killed. Zekk rigged explosives in the old workshop and lured Salek there where he detonated the building. Believing Salek to be dead, he jumped on a transport and headed off world once again.

Salek survived the explosion but lost his arms. It would take some time for them to regenerate but eventually he would be able to pursue his quarry again. This prey was tricky, but in the last encounter he saw his weakness. Next time Zekk would not escape. Synystr, as he went back to being called, wound up on a space station after his flight from Ord Mantell. He once again began working as an information broker, but he became more cautious. Always wearing an enviro suit whenever he headed out so no one could recognize him. He learned from his past mistakes and after a couple months was looking for a ride off the station in case he should run into any other bounty hunters or even his former pirate cohorts.
