About Sam "Torch" McQuarry

Appearance

Torch usually wears a fine mithral shirt over a comfortable, well-made set of tunic and breeches, all in various shades of sweat-stained brown. A similiarly-colored hat with a broad brim rests on his head, covering the tips of his slightly pointed ears, and solid leather work boots protect his feet, while a sharply curved sword rides easily on his hip. In the field, a large backpack stuffed full of tools and supplies is mounted between his broad, strongly-muscled shoulders as well. Few people notice any of this immediately, however, as their eyes are drawn to the vicious burn scar that covers the entire right side of his face, from just beneath his hairline to somewhere below the edge of his shirt collar. Raw, red flesh crossed by hundreds of thin, pearlescent white scars gives him a repulsive and scaled look. Once one can look past the scars, it's clear that he was once a reasonably handsome man, but that is long since changed - even the warm brown eye that still remains in the undamaged side of his face is matched by one that is a pale, almost milky blue, which looks oddly sunken amid the ridged skin around it.
