About Liriel

"We're traveling a mile and a half off of the ground, moving faster than the wind. this levitational is a precision instrument. Should I be one bit off in this adjustment, we're going to probably fall to our deaths. This requires the most precise adjustment with no margin for error!" WHAM!

A refugee from the destruction of Cyre, Liriel is looking to move beyond her past. Her enthusiasm is tempered by memories of hardship and lack and such is balanced by a strong sense of thrift. Liriel was given her surname from her eyes of deep opal. She alternates between the extremes of a highly developed sense of urban fashion and a walking tool cabinet with feet.

Liriel is of average height for her race with eyes and hair of deep black. She carries herself in a near constant state of animation, jumping at any opportunity to work with cutting edge constructs and magical devices. She is determined to move beyond Cyre's past and to carve out her own future.

She has spent most of the last two years as crew on the windship Ceran's Folly, originally as apprentice to engineer Rotan, then succeeding him after the latter's unfortunate choice of an intellectual debate with a Xendrik shaman. Ceran's Folly was seized recently by Sharn authorities for debt settlement, and since then she's worked at odd commissions here and there getting by.

General adventuring equipment..masterwork thief and artisan tools, the usual provisions for food and sleeping with Studded Leather armor, she is armed with a light crossbow, a morning-star and a dagger as reserve.

Racial Traits
* +2 Constitution, +2 Charisma, –2 Strength: Gnomes are physically weak but surprisingly hardy, and their attitude makes them naturally agreeable.
* Small: Gnomes are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty to their Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defense, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.
* Slow Speed: Gnomes have a base speed of 20 feet.(Currently bumped up to 30 with boots Also +7 to Jump checks)
* Low-Light Vision: Gnomes can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light. See Additional Rules.
* Defensive Training: Gnomes get a +4 dodge bonus to AC against monsters of the giant subtype.
* Gnome Magic: Gnomes add +1 to the DC of any saving throws against illusion spells that they cast. Gnomes with a Charisma of 11 or higher also gain the following spell-like abilities: 1/day—dancing lights, ghost sound, prestidigitation, and speak with animals. The caster level for these effects is equal to the gnome's level. The DC for these spells is equal to 10 + the spell's level + the gnome's Charisma modifier.
* Hatred: Gnomes receive a +1 bonus on attack rolls against humanoid creatures of the reptilian and goblinoid subtypes due to special training against these hated foes.
* Illusion Resistance: Gnomes get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against illusion spells or effects.
* Keen Senses: Gnomes receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception skill checks.
* Obsessive: Gnomes receive a +2 racial bonus on a Craft or Profession skill of their choice. (Liriel's choice is Jewelcraft)
* Weapon Familiarity: Gnomes treat any weapon with the word “gnome” in its name as a martial weapon.
* Languages: Gnomes begin play speaking Common, Gnome, and Sylvan. Gnomes with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Draconic, Dwarven, Elven, Giant, Goblin, and Orc.
