Urban Tracking: You gain a +4 competence bonus to any Diplomacy check used for Urban Tracking (see Skills). Also, while conducting Urbran Tracking checks, you can make a single Knowledge (local) check to learn things about your quarry even though they are not yet present. While this check is treated like a normal Knowledge check for learning the abilities of monsters, it can only provide what information that the subject of your search has shown while in the community you are searching. (Level 1)

Bullseye Shot: You can spend a move action to steady your shot. When you do, you gain a +4 bonus on your next ranged attack roll before the end of your turn. (Divine Marksman bonus)

Point Blank Shot: +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls with ranged weapons at ranges of up to 30 feet. (Bonus level 1)

Precise Shot: You can shoot or throw ranged weapons at an opponent engaged in melee without taking the standard –4 penalty on your attack roll. (Ranger combat style level 2)

Background
--------------------

Kaine grew up in Sharn, poor and homeless - at least most would consider his life that way. However, despite growing up in an urban environment, Kaine's parents instilled in him the typical shifter self-reliance and love of wilderness. In their case, the wilderness was the cityscape of Sharn. Climbing and swinging from walkways and towers hunting vermin to live off of, Kaine's childhood was not unlike a normal shifter upbringing except the trees are stone and prey are tracked through disturbed crowds rather than foliage. Traveling from district to district staying one step ahead of debtors and the Watch, Kaine grew up not thinking himself homeless because the entire city of Sharn itself is his home. After his parents were arrested and pressed into service during the Last War, Kaine continued life on his own traveling throughout the city learning the hidden paths over and along the outsides of the towers.

He continued to master his archery skills feeling the common shifter calling of the bow and living his nomadic life throughout several districts of the city. His sparse money needs were met by selling his services as a messenger and occassional spy to various merchants and lesser wealthy residents. Although they rarely have work for him, he frequents many of the House Lyrandar airship docks. He is utterly fascinated with the airships and ability to soar through the sky, but has yet to venture on a trip. One pilot in particular, Oarsen d'Lyrandar finds him amusing and likes to show the awestruck shifter the ins and outs of the airships. (Possible disappeared NPC hook?)

--------------------
Personality
--------------------

Kaine is quite friendly to all who haven't crossed him. Those who has gotten on his bad side are rarely ever trusted again. Life in the wilds (of Sharn) is too precarious to take those sorts of risks. Most striking of his personality, however, is his deep love and affinity for the city itself as a living thing. The faith of Boldrei resonates deeply with him although his own knowledge of it is primarily from overhearing sermons while lurking outside temples and then filling in his own interpretations and ideas. He sees Sharn as a living ecosystem as deep in his soul as the most nature-focused druid or ranger wandering the Eldeen Reaches.

His absolutely most enjoyable activity is climbing near the top of a tower (whatever one he can without being caught), and watching the sun set through the city and the shifting from day to night as lights spread throughout the city. He has even taken up painting trying to capture this twilight transition, but so far is not overly pleased with the results. That doesn't faze him, however. No tower was built in a day and he is already scouting out art studios with good perches he can hang from outside to observe and learn. Like a hunter studying an animal in order to mimic it's natural behaviors and movements, Kaine studies various citizens of Sharn to learn new skills and how to mimic their abilities.
