Bloodline: Draconic (Gold)

Bloodrage (Su):The bloodrager's source of internal power grants him the ability to bloodrage.

At 1st level, a bloodrager can bloodrage for a number of rounds per day equal to 4 + his Constitution modifier. At each level after 1st, he can bloodrage for 2 additional rounds per day. Temporary increases to Constitution (such as those gained from bloodraging or spells like bear's endurance) don't increase the total number of rounds that a bloodrager can bloodrage per day. The total number of rounds of bloodrage per day is renewed after resting for 8 hours, although these hours need not be consecutive.

A bloodrager can enter a bloodrage as a free action. While in a bloodrage, a bloodrager gains a +4 morale bonus to his Strength and Constitution, as well as a +2 morale bonus on Will saves. In addition, he takes a –2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase to Constitution grants the bloodrager 2 hit points per Hit Die, but these disappear when the bloodrage ends and are not lost first like temporary hit points. While bloodraging, a bloodrager cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration.

A bloodrager can end his bloodrage as a free action. When the bloodrage ends, he's fatigued for a number of rounds equal to twice the number of rounds spent in the bloodrage. A bloodrager cannot enter a new bloodrage while fatigued or exhausted, but can otherwise enter bloodrage multiple times during a single encounter or combat. If a bloodrager falls unconscious, his bloodrage immediately ends, placing him in peril of death.

Bloodrage counts as the barbarian's rage class feature for the purpose of feat prerequisites, feat abilities, magic item abilities, and spell effects.

I shall then be Apsu,
for I am the first.
I am the primeval,
who was of Heaven
and of Material
before they had names,
for I created them with Chaos.
I then shall go
and I shall end Death.

Gunnarrex was born in the egg clutch of a sorceress named Filxtrina in the Sootscale tribe of the Icerime Peaks, in Brevoy. Their tribe lived in an old, abandoned silver mine and as far as kobold tribes went was relatively peaceful. His mother was a special kobold, having golden scales rather than the usual chromatic variations of her kin. Filxtrina’s heritage lent her a kind and caring demeanor completely abnormal in the world of kobolds. She taught Gunnarrex to be kind and good, in the way of Apsu, the creator of all things. She would often read to him from the Draconic Apsu and tell him he was named after the great gold dragon sage who wrote it.

When Gunnarrex was a teen, the Sootscale tribe started to come under frequent raiding from a nearby group of mites. Filxtrina advised Chief Sootscale to maintain a peaceful footing, and attempt to negotiate with the mites. But another sorcerer, Tartuk, was whispering words of war in the chieftain’s other ear. The wicked Tartuk arranged to poison Filxtrina (unbeknownst to Gunnarrex). To the rest of the tribe, it appeared as if Filxtrina sickened over the period of a few weeks. Then she died. Gunnarrex was devastated. With her gone, there was no longer a voice cautioning peace on the chief’s advisory counsel. So the Sootscales soon went to war with the mites. Gunnarrex fought in some of the battles, but the needless bloodshed sickened him, as did the memories of his mother.

Deciding to seek out adventure, Gunnarrex left the Sootscales and traveled into the lands of men. He got passage on a barge, and traveled west across the Lake of Mists and Veils, where he heard many tales of the Worldwound to the west. His fellow travelers told him of the walled crusader city of Kenabres, and of its great defender - the silver dragon Terendelev. After hearing of the noble dragon and its quest to protect the world from the demonic hordes of the Wound, Gunnarrex knew where his destiny lay. He continued west into Mendev, and then across that nation as well to the city of Kenabres. He has been waiting in the city for some time, seeking fellow adventurers who he can brave the Worldwound with, and hoping for a glance of the great Terendelev. With the Armasse festival upcoming, he will have his first chance to see the silver defender, and he’s very excited.
