I'm currently working on this two-part adventure, which will tie up some loose ends from the previous 2 years of Pathfinder Society scenarios and kick off a high-level series that will take the most experienced Pathfinders to new levels of adventure. I'm really getting a kick out of researching all of the old adventures for little bits of continuity and fun tricks I can insert into this one. The Red Raven, from David Schwartz's "Flight of the Red Raven" stand-alone adventure, makes an important cameo appearance, as do several critical NPC members of the Pathfinder Society. Destined to kill some characters dead. |

I wrote the sections in this book pertaining to the general summary of the Pathfinder Society (largely taken from an article I wrote way back in Pathfinder #1), as well as the survey of every single nation in the campaign setting that details their views toward the Society and what sorts of local factors attracts Pathfinder interest. |

I wrote the cyclops and choker entries in our Bestiary. It's not much, but I'm so proud to have published this book that I couldn't dream of leaving it off the list! |

I've wanted to write a Pathfinder installment since we first came up with the idea, and Legacy of Fire afforded me my first opportunity to do so. Like "The Whispering Cairn" that kicked off the Age of Worms Adventure Path, this is the first installment of a new AP. I really enjoyed the opportunity to help "set the tone" for one of the most unusual Pathfinder Adventure Paths to date. Fans responded by granting this installment an ENnie for Best Adventure and Best Cover. |

Gary Gygax passed away while this book was in production, and the introduction I contributed to this volume looks back at his lifetime and contribution to the lives of gamers, fantasy enthusiasts, and popular culture. It was a difficult essay to write due to the circumstances, but I think Gary would have been pleased with it. |

This product is a greatly expanded version of the Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer, which I co-wrote with Jason Bulmahn. Much of it is taken verbatim from that earlier work, but in particular I contributed the section on the nation of Nex as well as the section on Golarion beyond the Inner Sea region as well as some ancient history bits. This book won an ENnie for Best Campaign Setting at Gen Con 2009. |

This was one of the biggies in my career so far. As James Jacobs and Wes Schneider were busy launching the first installments of the Pathfinder Adventure Path, Jason Bulmahn and I were furiously working on the world of Golarion itself. Although most of the deities and some nations came from James's home campaigns, I sketched out the broad strokes of the world and added old campaign elements of my own like Cheliax, the Land of the Linnorm Kings, the Test of the Starstone, and Absalom (among hundreds of others). Jason added his own ideas, and between us we split the world in two and each wrote about 25 countries. After that, I did the final polish on the whole thing that brought it all together. This book served as the template for the much larger Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting hardcover, in which lots of authors expanded our material into a much larger book. This won the Best Campaign Setting ENnie at Gen Con 2008. |

I wrote the very first installment of the Pathfinder's Journal for our monthly Pathfinder Adventure Path series, which set out the general goals and history of the society before other writers took off with it as an ongoing fiction segment, as originally intended. One day I hope to get to write one of those, too! |

I didn't so much write an article for the inaugural edition of Kobold Quarterly as provide a meandering, hour-long interview which editor Wolfgang Baur saw fit to print in its entirety! A fascinating (if I do say so myself) look at Paizo as it crested out of the magazine business and into the Pathfinder business. Dragon and Dungeon were only in the ground a few months when this came out. Interestingly, before we settled on Pathfinder, we were seriously considering calling our Adventure Path periodical Kobold. Great minds think alike! |

I wrote the introduction to this first release for Paizo's Planet Stories fiction imprint. In the essay I discuss Gygax's famous "Appendix N: Inspirational and Educational Reading" from his magnum opus, the AD&D Dungeon Master's Guide, and its effects on a generation of fantasy enthusiasts. After Gary had given me so much in the form of D&D (and the fiction that inspired it), I was very pleased to reintroduce his own fiction to a new generation of gamers. |

This issue of Dungeon (which I was editing at the time) includes "The Whispering Cairn," the kick-off adventure for the Age of Worms Adventure Path. I'm particularly proud of this adventure, and consider it one of the best things I've written. I greatly expanded the town of Diamond Lake from the 4-5 paragraphs that previously existed about it in Greyhawk lore, and ran a multi-year 3.5 campaign in the Paizo offices centered around it. Great fun, devious traps, and some of the best NPCs I've ever created! |

Talk about a career highlight! Working with Robert J. Kuntz, Gary Gygax, and James Jacobs on this third edition version of the classic Greyhawk adventure Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure was an absolute joy. The entire issue is dedicated to this huge old-school dungeon crawl. It also featured cover art from Wayne Reynolds and interiors by James Ryman, two of my very favorite artists in the RPG field. Interior layouts were contributed by my old friend (and then art director for Dungeon) Sean Glenn, and the issue marks some of the earliest work of current Paizo art director Sarah Robinson, who as I recall wasn't quite sure what she had gotten herself into with this tabletop gaming business at the time she worked on this. A milestone! |
