Background:
Amathelah has been a quiet and contemplative person since birth. Her parents weren’t particularly aligned towards these traits, it just seemed to be something that was unique to their daughter. When she would speak it would often be to offer up some sage piece of knowledge. It was clear that Amathelah had a deeper understanding of the natural world than most people, and she was often called an “old soul” by those around her. She was a bit of a daydreamer because of these aspects of her character, which left her far behind in school. She just simply seemed interested in more important things than grammar and arithmetic. It came as no surprise when early into her teenage years she informed her parents that she would be venturing off deep into the woods to live a solitary life of inner study. It was a sad day for her parents, because they knew she would not be returning. They weren’t sure if she was destined for greater things, but they chose to believe this was what would come of her isolation. It helped take some of the sting out of the effective loss of their daughter.

Early in Amathelah’s youth she came across some teachings of those faithful to Irori, and they struck a chord with her. Ultimately, with a little investigation into more about Irori she found her calling of seeking physical perfection in the idea of the God. She took a high quality hunting bow from her father, a quiver of arrows, and only the most basic essentials and left her home at the age of 14. She spent the next 12 years living a simple life of contemplation, physical training, and introspection. Whether it was a natural fit or if it was out of simple need to obtain food she gravitated toward her bow as the means of seeking perfection. She was adept at the use at the young age, but she seemed to bond her idea of obtaining perfection to what she could do with her bow.

Shortly after her 26th birthday, she reached a point of what you might call semi-enlightenment. It certainly was not reaching a level of divine understanding that she set out to find, but it was an epiphany none the less. It dawned on her that one needs more exposure than you can get from a small patch of land deep in a forest to gain a fuller understanding of the natural world. She would need to leave the place she called home to travel the world.

Her isolation only exacerbated her quiet and contemplative nature. She wasn’t off-putting to others she would come across, she was just quiet. She would offer aid to those in great need, would put creatures out of their misery when necessary, and other small deeds that appeared to be very kind acts. She didn’t do this out of the goodness of her heart, she just simply saw certain things as necessary to keep the “Balance” as she would call it. It is this existence that sometimes put her in groups of adventurers. She wouldn’t join with groups for aid to get places, she could manage just fine on her own. She only saw groups she would join with as opportunities to keep the Balance or to provide her with more experiences that might further her quest to Enlightenment.
