Who knows? Wouldn't you like to know...

You won initiative, so you get to go first.

(Had to wait until I was off work.)

Round 1
Init 16

Darius stared at the place his opponent had no doubt just been, weaving fiendish signs in the air with his hands until suddenly with a burst of brimstone a Fiendish Dire Bat appears in the air 65 feet from him. "I look forward to your surrender mageling though you'll drag this out I have no doubt."

Dire bat moves and attacks the square he blindsenses Orion in, allowing Darius to pinpoint his location.

Dire Bat bite: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Darius moves through the trees pulling forth his sword as he moves. He whispers a command word to activate one of his items though it is not clear which one.

DM Only:
Boots of flying

Round 1

The bat misses, I believe. Pretty sure I am not flat-footed because of the pre-buff round.

Dodging the bat was difficult, but not impossible, and the defensively-cast Disjunction spell soon after caused the bat to vanish in the puff of magic it had appeared in. There is a bit of rustling, for those with good hearing, and soon Orion has vanished from the location the bat had pinpointed. The sky above where Orion was however, grows very, very cloudy, and Darius finds himself now in six inches of water.

Disjunction is centered at J9, on the ground. Misses me, hits the Bat and Darius. Bat vanishes, Darius DC 31 Will Save for all magic items.

GM:
Move action, pull out Rod of Quicken. Use it to cast a Quickened Time Stop.

Rounds of Time Stop: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The first round is spent in casting Tongues using one of the three wishes from my ring, and then flying up to A9, 50 ft up. Three castings of Summon Monster VII to summon 3d3 ⇒ (3, 3, 3) = 9 Huge Lightning Elementals, with the last round is spent using my ability Raise the Deep over the entire arena, causing the ground of the arena to be covered in six inches of water, followed by a stealth check.

Stealth Check: 1d20 + 54 ⇒ (8) + 54 = 62

Who knows? Wouldn't you like to know...

My bad on the Stealth Check. That should only be a +53 to stealth, so that should be a 61 in total.

How did the preround buff stop you from being flat-footed? If it is because you cast a spell in the buff round, that is just a free round for everyone. Losing init still means you are flat-footed. If there is another reason feel free to inbox me. :)

PS:I know the bat probably won't hurt you bad enough to really matter, but just in case it does..

If Bat did bite you: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 damage

Disjunction time
Sword1d20 + 28 ⇒ (14) + 28 = 42
Longbow1d20 + 28 ⇒ (8) + 28 = 36

Amulet1d20 + 28 ⇒ (1) + 28 = 29

Boots1d20 + 28 ⇒ (5) + 28 = 33
Bracers1d20 + 28 ⇒ (5) + 28 = 33
Cloak1d20 + 28 ⇒ (1) + 28 = 29
Implant1d20 + 28 ⇒ (4) + 28 = 32
Quiver1d20 + 28 ⇒ (8) + 28 = 36
Gloves1d20 + 28 ⇒ (3) + 28 = 31
Hat1d20 + 28 ⇒ (13) + 28 = 41
Headband1d20 + 28 ⇒ (18) + 28 = 46
Ioun1d20 + 28 ⇒ (15) + 28 = 43
Potion #11d20 + 28 ⇒ (5) + 28 = 33
Potion #21d20 + 28 ⇒ (10) + 28 = 38
Ring #11d20 + 28 ⇒ (11) + 28 = 39
Ring #21d20 + 28 ⇒ (11) + 28 = 39
Robe1d20 + 28 ⇒ (18) + 28 = 46

(Oh well that was some bad luck rolls there.)

Round 2
Init 16

Darius knew the sorcerer was likely aiming for the same tricks as before once he felt his magical items assaulted. He looked about checking out the new environment with his keen senses, looking specifically for how the water was being contained from flowing away.

(Need to know if there are any more threats I can see, pits, aqueous orbs, etc. before I can perform my actions.)

Perception: 1d20 + 40 ⇒ (2) + 40 = 42

Who knows? Wouldn't you like to know...

Ah, I misunderstood the issue with the free round then. You do not see how the water is being contained. However...it seems to just be sitting in the arena and only the arena, and at a height of 6 inches. No pits, aqueous orbs or other oddities seem to be in the arena to obstruct your view of things or try to trick you.

Ok. Darius begins casting Summon Monster 3.

Round 2

A few arcane words and smaller, but no less potent burst of magic tears into Darius, trying to Counter any attempts at summoning another monster. Not finished with that, Darius can hear Orion start calling orders. "You three in front, drop him to the ground and fly his sword up 60 feet! The rest of you, stay at your current altitude and surround him!"

Three of the clouds, with a crash of lightning and thunder, descend upon Darius with the fury of a storm. The first cloud (Number 7) takes the legs out from under Darius. The second cloud Number 8) drives his arm over Darius's Swordhand, tendrils of mist sliding down and seperating the undead from his weapon. The sword vanishes into the cloud only to fall away, underneath the cloud and out of reach of Darius as the third cloud Number 9 flies over, grabs the sword and head's straight up. The other clouds begin to fly around Darius, sixty feet above him, much as vultures would circle a wounded creature.

Not finished with Darius, it becomes apparent what the purpose of the water is. Now that Darius is lying in it, a single blue orb, a Freezing Sphere, flies from high in the sky, landing next to the Paladin and encasing him in what was once water, and now is Ice.

Dispel Magic (To Counterspell):1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 31

Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 17 + 3 + 10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 17 + 3 + 10 + 2 + 1 = 47

Disarm Attempt: 1d20 + 17 + 3 + 10 + 4 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 17 + 3 + 10 + 4 + 2 + 1 = 48

Cloud 9's Perception check: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33

Darius is currently encased in Ice, as per Freezing Sphere. To break out, he must make a DC 25 Strength Check or a DC 25 Escape Artist Check as a Full-Round action.

GM Only:
The Dispel Magic was my standard action, and I used a charge from my Rod of Quicken, Greater, to cast Freezing Sphere. I fly to L11, 60 ft up, not making a stealth check. It is a DC 15 Perception check to spot where I am.

(You intentionally misled me by not telling me about the clouds which were lightning elementals. I would have remembered them for the previous match up or at the least had a chance to realize they were creatures. I feel this was unfair and underhanded.)

Who knows? Wouldn't you like to know...

Do you have knowledge: The Planes? And if you recall, I did describe them as clouds in the last match.

(So I should have known better then to expect seeing the same thing twice and being duly noted by the other player when asking about threats. Congratulations, DM I no longer wish to participate against this opponent.)

Who knows? Wouldn't you like to know...

Alright, I asked the GM to take a look at this and maybe he will resolve it. I took your question regarding pits, orbs, and other threats to be concerning things on the ground, however.

Darius you get your turn back.

[spoiler=Orion]Describe the threats as they are, no fluff descriptions. At least use the description from the book. If a knowledge check is called for then shoot me a PM. Your description did make it seem like no threat was there, and they still look like creatures according to the book. [/Orion]

I will start checking in every 2 hours, when I am awake if the battle continues

Who knows? Wouldn't you like to know...

Understood.

Sorry about that. I rolled a nat 1 when I rode that code, and then slept for about 12 hours. I guess I should have sent it to your inbox

Who knows? Wouldn't you like to know...

Its not a problem.

(I have no desire to complete this fight. Please announce Orion as the winner to bring the fights to a conclusion.)

Orion, the man in black armor suddenly disappears from sight. The crowd is in shock. After several minutes of waiting he never returns. The judges consult with each other, and finally declare you the winner.
