Match 4- Orion vs Ulthor

On one side of the map we have a strange beast with a man inside of it, going up against, a man of great magical prowess. Who will move on to the semifinals, Orion or Ulthor? The terrain here appears to have been ripped from a war torn city as two metal barricade that used to be buildings jut from the landscape. Will they be a facter in the fight? We will see.

Fly to L2, staying five feet above the ground. Peek around the corner, trying to find my opponent, all very stealthily.

Move to H1, staying 5 ft above ground. If I saw him burrow and haven't heard him come back out, then I am going to stay put here and be as stealthy as possible.

Depending on what sense you are using, you may or may not see me. Should you see me, if the spell allows SR to block it, then you will need to roll for SR. I also can identify any spell cast on me on a one, so you can go ahead and let me know which spell it is.


I am using Blindsense(Ex)

We can both auto pass spellcraft, no reason for either of us to hide casting the other can see.


Orien, you have just been hit with a Disjunction spell.

My Blindsense picked you up as I was moving. The first option on my IF statement took effect. DC is 22.

Round 5

Orion lands on the ground from where he was floating, all but five feet above it, on both feet. "I see you have a very nice trick. But did you take a close look at the size of the arena? And with your size?" Orion shouts to his opponent, who is somewhere in the arena. He then raises a rod into the air, flicks it, and a wave of nullifying magic sweeps through the arena for all those who are in the air. A twist of his hands and a sweep of his wrist, and Orion's form blurs and vanishes from sight.

Disjunction centered at 40 ft above the ground at H6. This will miss me, as you will have last seen me at H1. This disjunction is followed by a Time Stop. The DC on the Disjunction is 31.

Time Stop: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

GM:
Spells cast during Time Stop are Fly, Mind Blank, and Greater Invisibility. Depending on where he is at after the Disjunction, will depend on where I end up for the three movements I get. If he is one side of the arena, I will go to the other. If he is in the center, I will go ahead and set up at F2, swapping my rod of quicken for the staff of divination in the bag of holding during that time.

Round 5

The huge form of Ulthor appears 50' in the air. Upon appearing, he silently traces an arcane symbol in the air, folds his wings, and dives into the ground.

Unsure if the tremorsense picks me up where I am standing on top of F2. Will let you make that call.

Casting Dispel Magic on my belt to remove the Disjunction.

Dispel Check: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (9) + 20 = 29

Let me know if that succeeds. Add three to my stealth check if it does.

For my move action, I step off of F2, moving to F3.

I don't have timestop, it take me somewhat longer to recover from debuffs.

Scroll of Disjunction...created by a Sorcerer or a Wizard, caster level of 13, correct? Need to double-check to see if my action worked.


Nothing fancy: CL 17, minimum for a wizard to cast.

I was aiming more for stripping buffs than gear.

Fly to A7, keep elevation the same, Since the Dispel Check worked. Cast True Seeing again from my Staff.

Round 7

Change of tactics: a smart caster would ready either disjunction or dispel magic at this point.

Using spring attack:
. I emerge from the ground, no invisibility
. I have blindsense 30', no board edge is more than 25' from my position

IF Orion 15' to 20' reach I will hit with axe
ELSE IF Orion 5' to 10' I bite
ELSE IF Orion outside reach move 5' closer and attack with axe

After attacking or if unable to sense orion I resubmerge.

I updated the map to show my point of emergence.

I assume you are on the ground when you pop out and your if statement goes off? And how tall are you?

EDIT: Even if you are a 15x15x15 cube, you would not see Orion at the point you just emerged. Just ran Pythagorean's theorem to figure it out.


The final part holds, I'll go back underground if I don't sense you and ready my next set of actions

Only exposed items need rolls. If the item is in a backpack, for example it would be safe. The same goes for you to Orion so if you rolled low on an item that was not exposed then you should still have it.

Yes you do. It is no different than dropping a fireball in your own square.

Despite the odd rippling in the center of the arena, nothing else appears to happen.

GM:
Just going to chill at A1, 55 ft up. Not going to try and attack while he is underground, as I don't think I have any spells that would effect him while underground.

Round 11 - Movement

GM:
I move upwards looking for Orion with my blindsense. As I am only 5' below the surface (2' but am counting an entire square for movement) I will be able to move to a hight of 55'. My axe will be left underground.

When sensed, I will use remaining movement to close to 10'. My intention is to grapple him when located.

If unable to sense, I will end movement 55' above H7

IF found Grapple 1d20 + 35 ⇒ (7) + 35 = 42

ELSE silence Stealth 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (3) + 33 = 36

If I manage to grapple, you receive an AoO
