If you saw some of the threads I've been in you wouldn't be worried.

Did you want to ready an action or do nothing this turn?

A ready action is something you declare in advance, for example: if the bandits pass through the mist you attack them with your sling staff.

M Halfling Erastil Cleric 1 | HP 8/8, AC 14, T 12, FF 13 | F 4 R 2 W 6(8vFear) | CMB -1 CMD 10 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Arrows: 38

Oh - well, in that case...

Dom kneels and bows his head, praying for Erastil's aid in defending Oleg and Svetlana. (Readying Bless in case the bandits enter the fort.)

Map Undead M Railroad Engineer 13

The bandits double move toward the fort but don't enter yet.

Map

Male Half-Orc Wizard 1

One-Fang will cast Sleep on the Bandit at P23. 10' Radius, affects 4HD of enemies. Will Save DC 15

Male Human Bard /1

Big and and I shoudl move to engage the bottom one (or two if sleep does not go off), and Laurel can charge the guy in back since she is on a horse.

M Halfling Erastil Cleric 1 | HP 8/8, AC 14, T 12, FF 13 | F 4 R 2 W 6(8vFear) | CMB -1 CMD 10 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Arrows: 38

Dom will go ahead and Bless the team before they engage.

As a note you can't see the bandits Rory thanks to Obscuring Mist - are you just guessing?

M Human Swashbuckler 1

I'll take my marbles and chuck them through the opening. I'll listen to see if they hit anything or provoke any reaction,
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
If so, I'll go in that direction and engage. If not, I'll head just outside the door to try to engage someone.

For any attacks of opportunity I get from attacks on me, I'll spend a panache point for an Opportune Party and Riposite.

Female Human Ranger - 1

Since I am mounted and we heard someone moving up I am headed out on my horse, sword drawn. Riding through the mist and gate to get behind them.

Ride: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 For Laurel
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 For Blaze (horse) (combat-trained)

Laurel says softly to Blaze
"Let's go Blaze, time to get some bandits."

Male Human Bard /1

I was thinking waiting until we could see them as they emerged.

M Human Swashbuckler 1

That was my original impulse, but I thought you were suggesting the opposite. I'm committed to heading in half-cocked now, right? If so, you can stay inside and be my hype man if you want.

Check out those ragabonds who aren't at all cowards hiding out in the mist! I bet your bows work great in there!

Male Human Bard /1

I am not used to planing in posts.

We'll have to figure it out if we want the inside of our posts to be smooth.

On a serious note, Laurel's going to make some noise riding through the mist. It's a bit stupid to go looking for a fight in the mist, but it might mean fewer than five arrows get shot at her next round, and I'd like her to get to the boss.

Magickers! Do any of you have a spell that can turn a cowardly ragabond into something useful? Like a towel? Or a latrine!

Male Human Bard /1

Following Big Head I am right behind you, and this is all going to work out very well. These guys don't stand a chance!

Laurel, what squares are you moving through? Even with the mist you'd provoke Attacks of Opportunities to pass them, although they'd be subject to the miss chance.

Also, Berrik and Big Head are you delaying until they move out of the mist or moving into attack them?

Male Human Bard /1

Following Big Head's Lead

M Halfling Erastil Cleric 1 | HP 8/8, AC 14, T 12, FF 13 | F 4 R 2 W 6(8vFear) | CMB -1 CMD 10 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Arrows: 38

Since I can't make it down the ladder in time, the best thing I can do is keep my action this turn as Bless, right? I could give one of you Protection from Chaos, but I'd have to lose the high ground...and maybe I can take safe potshots up here. Though I do have a lot of touch heals, so maybe I should come down anyway (?)

Big Head wrote:

"No, but if you were to become a latrine I may have need to Create Water."

M Human Swashbuckler 1

Hold a moment Laurel! If you break through now, you may be the only target for all of them, and I'm receiving a strong intuition that it would be folly to clear a path through the mist right now. Let's try to draw them in.

M Human Swashbuckler 1

I block the entrance on the north side of the opening, sword ready (I'm assuming it's still open ten feet). I still want to spend panache points on Opportune Parry and Riposite if the chance arises.

Coordinates?

M Human Swashbuckler 1

I think I misunderstood how the gate works, I thought it slid north-south on the outside of the building, but looking at the map again, it looks like two 10-foot doors. If it is two ten-foot doors that swing inside and meet in the center, I want the right-side door (P21 and Q21) swung all the way open, with me standing ready at P20. If there's a mechanism to secure the left-side door closed (at N21 and O21) I want that secured.

M Halfling Erastil Cleric 1 | HP 8/8, AC 14, T 12, FF 13 | F 4 R 2 W 6(8vFear) | CMB -1 CMD 10 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Arrows: 38

"Think your taunts scared the bandits off, Big Head?"

"Or...was it the badger fur?"

OK, quickly can you guys put your vitals in your character description for me?

The gate does open out, so if you want to swing it out (I assume it was open because Berrik met them outside) you can but the doors won't be secure as a bar drops inside to secure them and requires both doors to shut properly. This is a frontier outpost you know.

Since P23 is in the Obscuring Mist radius, I'm going to roll concealment for all the bandits. Over 5-feet (which Rory is) is 50% so rolling 1d100 with low equaling a miss:

Ok, with that out of the way...

Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 65
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 6
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 79
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 95
Will Save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18

So N22 and P23 are sleeping, as denoted by the red circles.

Lareal provokes a single AoO moving through the gate thanks to sleep:

Attack (Shortsword): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Damage (Shortsword): 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

And Rory provokes a longbow attack with his spellcasting.

Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 89
Attack (Longbow): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

But the bandit misses.

Map

Male Human Bard /1

Let's get the guy to the south, Big

And yes it's your turn.

Male Human Bard /1

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20

Male Human Bard /1

Woo, Crit Threat
Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Booo

Male Human Bard /1

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Assuming I find the guy and a 20 hits

M Halfling Erastil Cleric 1 | HP 8/8, AC 14, T 12, FF 13 | F 4 R 2 W 6(8vFear) | CMB -1 CMD 10 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Arrows: 38

Is Dom able to shoot over the ramparts, or are the walls too high?

For practicality we assume you're able to shoot over the walls.

There's probably a huge list of defenses somewhere small characters are unable to see over but I'm not going to bother with them because it'd be time-consuming and ridiculous.

Berrik, why were you rolling Perception?

Male Human Bard /1

Not sure wehre the mists were, to be honest. Thought I would throw it in there as needed. My hope was to speed up the play by post effect.

Male Half-Orc Wizard 1

Where are the mists, now? And how long does it last?

Ah, well Obscuring Mist doesn't allow for Perception, you just get a miss chance from the concealment. You went for the bandit at T23 and are standing at O22.

Concealment: 1d100 ⇒ 66 Hit

The bandit screams in the mist as Berrik's weapon hits home, although only Berrik is aware of who screamed.

Male Human Bard /1

I forgot that I should have the +1 to damage, and it is my own buff!

We are doing great already! I tell you, these bandits are a great start to the day!

Male Half-Orc Wizard 1

Rory holds his action until the bandits get past the mist or the mist clears.

M Human Swashbuckler 1

I try to follow Berrik and attack the same guy.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Laurel, can you see the boss?

M Human Swashbuckler 1

If it hits:
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

Male Human Bard /1

rember your +1/+1

M Halfling Erastil Cleric 1 | HP 8/8, AC 14, T 12, FF 13 | F 4 R 2 W 6(8vFear) | CMB -1 CMD 10 | Init +1 | Perc +5 | Arrows: 38

Assuming the mists are still concealing all the bandits...

Dom's hands shake as he draws his bow and readies an arrow, preparing to fire. Readying a ranged attack if the bandits cross the mists

Also, don't forget the +1 attack bonus from Bless. I think it's got 8 rounds left.

M Human Swashbuckler 1

I did forget that attack bonus, so that's a 19 for me. I remembered Berrik's bonus.

Waiting on Laurel.

Male Human Bard /1

I'll poke her when I get home.

Female Human Ranger - 1

I am heading out to where the leader is.

"You've got a big mouth and a big streak of yellow. I guess you need that head start when you turn tail and run."

Ride: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 302d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11

The bandit leader laughs at Laurel.

Big talk for someone who can barely keep on top of her horse.

He takes a step back and fires an arrow at her.

Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

The two bandits slash at Big Head and Berrik.

Attack (Shortsword): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Attack (Shortsword): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

But miss.

Male Human Bard /1

Does not taking a step back provoke and Attack of Opportunity?

Nope.

Female Human Ranger - 1

When I get next to the leader dismount and attack again.

Ride: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 5
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 122d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8

"This from the guy who keeps backing up."

Miss - everyone else goes too!

Male Human Bard /1

The guy Big and I are on is still standing? If so, hit hinm again, if not, move up to hit hte otherone not sleeping

attsck: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 161d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

M Human Swashbuckler 1

Yes, did I whiff? Going after the closest one. Assuming the two attack buffs are still good:
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
