Konrad grins as the villain grapples the gnome.

"AHA! GOOD! You fight toe-to-toe, as a true varrior!"

He brings his hammer up in a tremendous arc...

"HAMMER. DOWN."

...and brings it down upon the avian.

Is the grappling serpentine critter adjacent to Quarr? Drax would try and get a flank if possible, but the map doesn't show the two adjacent. In any case:

Drax looks up after quaffing his potion, openly envious when Konrad delivers a mightily pulping blow with his great hammer.

"Bah! Leave some for me!" he shouts, and flies up after, trying to position himself with the big (extra-big right now) Lastwall knight to land his own blow.

Kukri vs serpentine guy: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 +2 if flank, potential crit

Confirm crit: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33 ...should do it, flank or no flank!

Critical damage (raging, trait): 2d4 + 17 + 17 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 17 + 17 + 2 = 40

If I am flanking, add on another d8 as well. ;) Sneak attack: 1d8 ⇒ 2

Drax growls as he registers he didn't cut out QUITE as much flesh as Konrad pulped.

#3-99 ACTUAL MAP

You are so lucky guys ! Its AC was 29 while grappling.
Well done :)

With two lucky strikes, from Konrad and Drak, the avian creature falls dead on the ground.

Seeing this, the last three remaining guards, decides to break combat and flee.

END OF COMBAT

After healing from the fight, the Pathfinder begins to looks through the rooms.

Where the serpentine creature was hidding they found her personal treasure: a golden tiara set with blood rubies worth 1,400 gp and several sets of jeweled earrings worth 450 gp.
While the mill is a front to cover the cult’s more nefarious plans, it makes a tidy profit. Much of the silk it produces is stored here. In total, the bolts and sheets of silk cloth, including those used to make the creature’s luxurious bedding, are worth a total of 2,250 gp.

On the attic, you find the nest of the avian creature. Inside there is twenty masterwork arrows, masterwork artisans’ tools for fletching arrows, and raw materials for over a dozen more arrows. You see also a desk. The desk’s only drawer contains quills, paper, sheets of silk, and eight intricately spiraling glass ink vials with golden lids, each holding a different color of ink.
The set is worth a total of 200 gp.
The trunk contains 760 gp in mixed coinage and trade goods worth 450 gp in total.
The desk has few papers and you see a shallow bowl full of ashes, with
a candle and tinderbox nearby. You think the creature used to burn all the papers she recieved from its boss.
Nevertheless, there is still unburned papers (all written in Vudrani).

(reading Vudrani):

  • A list of new regulations: no more sacrifices without permission; report those who openly express support for the new law banning “our most holy dark mother”; pass on any information, no matter how minor, about the thakur’s palace.
A footnote here reads, “Extract all we can from Raheem.”
  • Information about you, including descriptions, which possessions detect as magical, where they’re staying, and other details about you.
  • A scribbled note giving an important clue to the location of the cult’s headquarters in Jalmeray.

A you continue exploring the Mill, you find a way to go to a basement. Beams and floorboards form the low roof of this dank basement. There are crates and boxes piled against the walls and a desk and several sturdy chairs in the middle of the earthen floor.
The crates and boxes hold broken pieces of weaving equipment as well as parts and tools for maintaining and repairing the mill’s looms.
You also find Raheem, blindfolded, gagged, and tied to a chair.

You also find 2 potions of cure light wounds and several masterwork weapons on the corpse of the mills workers.

Ananta's first concern is with his gnome companion. "Are you ok? Tell me if anything hurtsss..."

I have a couple questions. If we buy a consumable with money we find in the module, and we do not use it, does it disappear at the end of the scenario? Or more generally, would buying something with the gold pieces we've found count against the amount of treasure we get at the end?

Also, I do not have spellcraft. I think Konrad can still identify, but we are down two people who could have helped with that; GM, do you think it is too late to find someone to supplement our party and get full rewards from our adventure?

Seeing Lord Raheem bound and gagged in this workshop sends a distinct feeling of dread down Ananta's throat. Have we been played for foolsss?. Before untying him, Ananta attempts to detect evil on the man.

"Friendss... I fear the worssst. I sssstill have the warning notes we were "given". Let usss compare them to the bill of sssale that the creature with the bat head had and let uss look for any other pieces of writing here, so that we may determine who is who in thisss. Drax snarls as the weak servitors start to flee. "You may NOT RUN!" he shouts, and takes advantage of the magical flight from his potion to tear after the cowards.

(If it's fiated that the other archers escape, so be it, but in character Drax would not be cool with letting them get away-- especially since as far as we're concerned, they're cultists who might be meeting back up with the rest of the cult. So if Drax can stop them, he will, but I'm okay with however you need to run it to keep us moving, GM. :) )

Drax licks some blood off his knuckles and flashes his filed teeth in a grin at the others. "The tricks and arrows of these cowards did not give them a victory. Gorum is pleased with the battle!"

Though his eyes glint with mercenary greed at the sight of the looted wealth, Drax has learned through long, tedious experience with the Pathfinder Society that he is not permitted to simply grab the pieces he would like best. There is this ridiculous bit about a 'fair' distribution of the spoils of war. Although...

He nudges Ananta in the ribs with one elbow. "Your 'tonglen'... I have not fought with a war-brother who could do this trick before. I like it more now! You should travel with me again, ha!"

The Lastwall knight gets a nod of something like respect. "You hit hard. Even the Belkzen war-chiefs would think before receiving a blow like the one you struck."

At Quarr, Drax just grins down. "Little one, the snake-man almost made you be quiet for ever. Lucky for your little rocks and smoke and for strong friends, yes?"

I second the request about spending money/loot in a module; Drax is fairly broke just now but he hates going around without a potion of fly handy. If we're allowed to spend the profits in game, that'd be great.

Drax listens somewhat blankly to Ananta's breaking down of the situation. He's silent several seconds, then shrugs. "You tell me who to destroy, I will destroy them."

Because the world is just that simple, right?

I'm not going to quibble over that, but a player of mine did remind me that Spell-like abilities do not have any somatic, verbal or other components. So while I do provoke if he wants to hit Ananta, it would be difficult for him to distinguish this from a good hard stare, unless of course he is familiar with paladins doing that to him.

Again, I'm fine with him having figured it out, just thought I'd share my recent finding.

Sorry, this has been a rough week.

Drax helps himself to one of the healing potions, stowing it at his belt, and shrugs indifferently to Ananta's claiming of the bow. "I dislike such weapons! I prefer to fight close, as Gorum intends. Take it."

With Raheem found alive, the warrior looks somewhat confused. "Bah. These assassins are not even very good at being assassins."

The note being thrust into his hands by the gnome makes him snort and pass it off to Konrad. "I do not care about scratches on paper. That is for you others. Knight of Lastwall, you think there will be more flying cowards?"

The thought makes Drax spit onto the floor. "Then I must buy another potion of flying magic. That is disgusting! I will take the cost from the coins of the men that I kill," he reasons.

Drax sets to looting the mill of anything he sees that catches his eye-- including stretches of fabric being woven-- while brighter heads than his puzzle over the note.

Still here, still gaming, Drax just can't help on that KN check, etc. Do we want to try a night's rest before we dig further? There was a lot of healing Ananta used there and Konrad some spells, I think, not sure how Quarr is doing on bombs/extracts etc

Unfortunate that none of us can use scrolls of fly (well, short of UMDing it), I don't think. Maybe a scroll of obscuring mist for you to hang on to, Ananta? Emergency cover against archers if we need to buy ourselves some rounds. I'm happy to buy THAT one and have the gold for it at least.

#3-99 ACTUAL MAP

After several days of preparations and research, Lord Raheem has been able to find the rough location of the temple headquarters, somewhere near the village of Leckumgee.

Lord Raheem requests that you there and strike back at the cult, hoping that you will be able to find the cultists’ headquarters without alerting them. He fears that if too many people know your mission, the cult may find out and vanish, only to reappear later and take vengeance against the thakur.
He recommends that you try to eliminate the cult in a single attack, so that the cultists have no chance to regroup.

For this task, Raheem provides you with elephants, provisions, and a guide named Bala to help your journey south.
Bala is a short, bearded man with an easy smile and relaxed manner. You rapidly learn that he gladly defers to the Pathfinders, as long as he’s free to tend his beloved elephants.

You Niswan and travel along the dusty road south through the surrounding farmlands.
Elephants move at a speed of 40 feet, allowing those riding them to travel around 32 miles in a day on the flat open terrain north of the Segang Jungle.
You cross the wide River Sald for a silver piece each, using the services of a team of ferrymen who cheerfully sing as they row their barge across the river. Each elephant costs 5 sp to bring across, but Lord Raheem gave Bala enough money to cover such expenses.
The small fishing village of Mudaliar on the south side of the Sald provides an uneventful place to stay the night.
The land south of the river is less populated and once you reach the edges of the jungle, you are the only people in sight. The thickly forested and hilly jungle normally slows travel to half normal, some days you are able to get a faster route, but not always and your journey is usualy slow.

At last, the jungle opens into a clearing, where thick foliage parts to display the sky above and a cool breeze renders the air less humid than among the dense trees. A rough wooden shrine holding a wide variety of clay statuettes depicting Vudrani deities stands to one side of the clearing.

A dirty, with a scraggly beard and worn and grimy clothing man tends the wooden shrine. In a deeply accented Common he says
Greetings strangers and travelers, I'm Sitrakha, the keeper of this temple. Do you want to pray at mymost holy enshrined house of worship? Or do you need a place to rest? I'm happy to offer both.

Quarr recognize easily Irori, but being not used to the Vudrani gods is unable to recognize any of them. Only when the men speaks of Dhalavei Quarr is able to see it.

Sorry guys, been trying to find the time to write a proper post. Just to finalize my purchases, I will have grabbed a potion of fly and a scroll of fly, to be deducted from found loot, and Drax will give the scroll of fly to Konrad to hold on to.

Drax seems..... suspicious of the elephants, to say the least. "I have fought one of these beasts before! In the arena. We are sure it is safe to ride?"

After some coaxing, the half-orc is convinced to climb aboard the great grey beast. He hangs on grimly for the first day... but eventually relaxes, and by the time they reach the village and the shrine he seems to even be enjoying the ride. Or at least the view from atop the great lumbering beast.

"HA! The god I follow is Gorum. Gorum has led me to many victories. What does this... 'master' do for you?" Drax asks Ananta and the shrine keeper. Despite his customary lack of tact, his question is sincere... at least to Ananta.

"But enough of those gods. I want to talk about the god Dhalavei!" Drax says bluntly. "Are any of the cowards who worship her near this place? I will kill them. Do you know, priest?"

Clearly, Drax is so spurred on by his 'investigative successes' back at the mill that he is under the illusion he should be doing talking and information gathering.

I don't know about this Imeda, but If you want you can add a shrine to your deity. It will be welcome among the other.

Says the scraggly man to Konrad.

The land will be shadowed by the blade of the black goddess, unless there are those who can sweep aside the blinding veil. he responds to Drax's questions about Dhalavei.

After a short silence he adds. Nevertheless if you are looking for travelers, I've seen several groups of half a dozen strangers who avoid
my shrine and travel to or from the south. They wear hoods even in the humidity of the jungle and don’t look like villagers. They have become more common over the last month...

I can't say how many. As many of them come and go, hooded. As they avoid my shrine I don't know if they were the same people or not.

He says to Ananta before answering to Quarr.

As for knowing where they went I can't says either. I'm tending my shrine and don't follow them farther south. But, if you are good at tracking it will be easy to follow their tracks through the jungle.

He then turns to the group as a whole.

I you want, I can give you my blessing and a shelter for the night. I only asks for food or a few coins to help me continuing to tend this holy shrine.

There's a little pause, as Drax rubs at his chin. "...actually you have not been weak. You have been strong companions. The gnome makes me angry, but he is not weak."

Drax fishes out a handful of silver coins from his belt pouch and tosses them down to the shrine's keeper. -1 GP
