Linux swings his sword back to try and finish off the beast.

Backswing attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Linux takes a stutter-step as his sword makes contact with the creature. As the poison from creature's claw starts to take effect, he feels slightly weakened.

"Methinks I've been envenomed..."

At the end of Linux's attack, he feels the poison still going through his body.

Linux Fort!: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

Claw Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Linux Fort vs Poison DC 13: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

The poison feels stronger in his veins now!

Combat over, but we need to keep initiative up because this poison is going to keep going for 6 rounds total, 4 from the first contact and it gets 1/2 duration longer for each application according to poison rules. The creature is called a Reefclaw if you guys want to check them out now, they're pretty disgusting lol. Seeing as how it was the only fight for awhile and it makes me drop one since you guys are a 4-man group, I wanted to make the best of them, and they even have Int which allows for coordination and stuff!

So, it's hit twice, it has 4 rounds left, can anyone do anything during those rounds to help him with his Fort save, or something to cure him of poison? As soon as he makes one save he's cured but it's going to keep draining Strength if he can't make the rest.

Once everyone has done what they can, Linux, go ahead and make your saves until you make a DC 15. It gets +2 for the second contact but at least you don't have to start saving versus two poisons each ticking away. I like how they do poison stacking.

Question - what happened to the sleep spell I cast? I didn't see the reefclaws make any saves, were they immune?

Korvosan Sewers | | Abandoned Vault

Oh yeah didn't bring that up with you. First, it's a full round cast, which means you start casting it and it goes off at the beginning of your next turn. That would have only hit one because one moved closer to Lucent. I rolled saves for both anyways and made them but it was eaten up in the post somewhere. Bates brought it up in a communicator message. :P

Double checked to make sure they do sleep, they were labeled under Aberration so I wasn't sure, which is also weird that you rolled the proper knowledge check since dungeoneering I believe only gets abberations, haha. They do sleep but they also have good Will saves and with a +4 it wasn't that hard to beat your DC.

Yeah, i realised it was a full round action after I cast it so i made my next move say "as the spell goes off". I'm surprised the Reefclaws have a high will save, it looks like it's their highest, lol. I was gonna cast grease but i assumed they'd have high reflex and low will as animals. Anyway...

Raphael searches his belongings for anything that can help Linux fight the poison. Finding only rags he amateurishly attempts to treat the poison.

untrained heal: 1d20 ⇒ 17

Standard Action: Untrained Heal (Treat Poison)

Dave gets a +4 competence bonus on his next check to save. I assume that as its a competence bonus its not stackable from other people, but if he fails we can all try again and hopefully someone will succeed.

Korvosan Sewers | | Abandoned Vault

Skills can usually only be done once per group, kind of like Diplomacy, you don't just all roll and take the highest you elect one person that is the best and that person would do the roll, and if aiding is allowed the teammates can do that.

So in this case, I'd allow one extra person to aid as like a nurse, so the person with the highest Heal check rolls and the 2nd highest tries to aid, if you make it above DC 15 then he gets +4 during that tick of poison which is when you're actually supposed to do the Heal check.

The stairs in the back go up to the lookout post of the tower and a man and his two daughters are hiding up there. He explains that his name is Josef and his half-elven daughters are Niana and Frelinda. The two men downstairs were going to sacrifice his daughters to Besmara but the creatures turned on them and killed them and were just about to come up stairs after the three of them until your group showed up. He thanks you for killing the creatures and politely asks if he can return with his daughters home.

There's nothing significant about him actually, he was an old faction quest, you have to figure out that his wife was a pirate who cheated the Besmarans out of treasure before dipping out of town. It's actually pretty interesting, here's the rest.

Faction Notes: Qadira faction PCs should be interested to learn that Josef is Redelia’s husband. Josef has no idea where his wife is hiding, but a successful DC 15 Diplomacy check while talking to Niana convinces the girl to reveal that her mother took her to a tattoo parlor the day before she fled Riddleport. Redelia had Niana’s back tattooed with a map of the Steaming Sea, but told Niana not to talk to anyone about it. A DC 15 Knowledge (geography) check identifies that one of the islands on the tattooed map is depicted as much larger than it actually is, providing a clue to Redelia’s hideout.

And off you go to another temple.

Korvosan Sewers | | Abandoned Vault

Ok ok, give me one more day to recover. I'll try to update it tomorrow at work or something.

Korvosan Sewers | | Abandoned Vault

You all part ways with the family and head towards the Publican House. It takes awhile to get from the inner part of the city to the outer where the Publican House is at, but you make it with fairly little time passing, still "on-time" so to say.

The Publican House is a sprawling building of rough-hewn wood and weathered shingles. Large bay windows of leaden glass provide an expansive view of the river. Loud cheers issue from the tavern, as does the sweet smell of spilled ale.

As you enter, a drunken half-elf bumps into one of the party members and apologizes for his intoxication. "Shorry. I losht. I'm losht now." The half-elf barely gets to explain himself before his knees give out and he falls to the wooden floor, already deep in a drunken sleep. A large bear-like man with huge fists looks over at the group, "Aye, don't worry about 'im, we take care of our own here." He introduces himself as High Publican Arnando Rolf, the head of this temple, and asks if you're here to partake in the Drink-Balancing Contest or just enjoying the scenery of intoxicating patrons spilling their drinks everywhere and breaking furniture as they try to balance cups of ale on them.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Inquisitor

"Ah, a contest, you say? It wouldn't be a contest without some sort of prize, would it? Let me have a go!"

He points over to the bar and above it there's a mantle with three prizes; a mug (probably the one you're looking for, probably....) a bottle of high-quality brandy, and a ring hanging from a thread.

Arnando guides Lucent over to the "arena", an empty spot along the floor where ale has been spilt everywhere from various contestants. He invites the rest of the party over as well, "You should all compete! First, ya grab a barstool, a table, or if you feel extra mighty you could grab a heavy sideboard, then we'll top off yer table with three, six, or nine full cups of ale, yer choice, and if you can balance em all we'll compare ya to the other contestants and select the CHAMPION of BEER BALANCIN'!"

So how I'm gonna do this is you all pick (BARSTOOL-TABLE-SIDEBOARD), roll a Strength check, pick (THREE-SIX-NINE), and roll Dexterity or Sleight of Hand check.
