Khaldrun the Rapid |
Woot! Khaldrun the Rapid onboard and ready to go!
So lets have a look at the party, feel free to ignore my thoughts and suggestions, and free to make them to me in return - with keep your nose out beardy being perfectly acceptable ;) All the things I'm suggesting can be found with a search on the PFRSRD if you are unfamiliar with them, too lazy to post individual links :)
Kirsteen is a heck of a healer, pretty squishy with 14 fewer hp than the wizard, not sure how her AC is going to be until she has selected gear. I also note she has not selected her domain spells in her prepared spells list? The +1 is for the domain slot, but you are short changing yourself since you should also have one more per level from wis. I'm guessing she will tear through undead like a wood chipper.
Lanfear looks like she will be terrifying on a full attack, though shes a bit squishier than a straight fighter. I'd suggest we try to buff her AC with spells, if only false life wasn't personal :( Enlarge person on her looks like pure win, if used when she is in position to full attack - 6d6+1d4+28 potential non crit damage, 8d6+1d4+35 if hasted damn! DR could potentially be problematic. I make her equipment to be well over budget though, 4x +1 weapons is 9200gp, +2 Belt of Giants Strength is 4000gp, Ring of Protection +1 is 2000gp, +1 Agile Breastplate is 1550gp, Mwk Composite +5 Str Longbow is 900gp, so thats 18550gp right there. I'd suggest dropping a couple of the +1 weapons down to MW since it will likely only cost you +1 to damage.
Torsk has a pretty low AC, but I'm more than happy to buff him with extended Mage Armor. I'm not very familiar with monks, but I imagine the usual haste, etc., will work just fine. I'd tenatively suggest dropping the Bracers of Armor and some of the potions, as Khaldon and Kirsteen should have you covered for most of them. If he can scrounge together 5000gp a Flaming/Shocking/Undead Bane Amulet of Mighty First - this item no longer has to be +1 before getting special properties - would add a heck of a lot of damage potential. Maybe drop the Bracers of Armor, Cloak of Resistance, Potions of haste, energy resistance, cure moderate wounds, lower the potions of enlarge person to 100gp for two - its a first level spell - and get muleback cords instead of the Handyhaversack? That would give you 5150gp to spend, and most of those are going to be redundant since I know I'm going to be using haste a lot and can cast a Mage Armor on you for 12 hours a day thats +4 instead of +1, etc.
Alistair Cooper - intentional reference? - looks like a great skill monkey, I'm curious to see him in combat, especially since I've never seena gun used in PF before. Don't really have much to suggest.
Khaldrun has high hp - the second highest in the party I think, which is a tad worrying - and high initiative and perception, so hopefully he will normally get to act first or close to it. He'll probably start by throwing out haste in dangerous looking encounters and then try to control the battlefield cutting off foes or positioning them for the melee types. I don't think I have a single damage dealing spell memorized, so don't expect much from him in that regard. I'll note I've saved myself 2000gp by crafting my own Headband of Vast Intelligence and I'd like to ensure this is okay with DMEDWIN, I have the feat and would have had the time to do this in game. I've tried not to go too wild with it, but I'm happy to adjust accordingly if you don't feel that's reasonable.

Captain Cooper checking in.
was reviewing my sheet for errors discovered that the last couple of paragraphs of his back story are missing. will have to get them added (just for my own satisfaction if not anything else).
Theat part is a bit important only becuase it explains why he goes by Captain Cooper.
EDIT: updated story with the last three paragraphs.

Torsk checking in...happy to be here and thanks for all the suggestions "beardy" lol...I'll look into them to see if I can better maximize my character. I don't have the dmg book its out on loan so I may need some crunching for some of the items.
Lanfear Xinskarr The Hydra |
Wow Rapid u talk a lot and very fast lol. Yeah will work out the cost again. Well I will be eating mutagen which gives me another +2 natural armor which should help in the defense along with some skills. See if I can pump it up

Grayflame: This weapon responds to channeled positive or negative energy. When the wielder spends a swift action to channel energy through the weapon, it ignites with a strange gray flame that sheds light as a torch, increases the weapon's enhancement bonus by +1, and deals +1d6 damage (as the divine power from flame strike) to creatures struck by the weapon. This flame lasts for 1 round for every d6 damage or healing the channeling normally provides. When charged with positive energy, the flame is a silvery gray, good creatures are immune to the weapon's extra damage, and the weapon counts as a good and silver weapon for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction. When charged with negative energy, the flame is an ashen gray, evil creatures are immune to the weapon's extra damage, and the weapon counts as an evil and cold iron weapon for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction.
Moderate transmutation; CL 6th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Channel Smite, align weapon; Price +1 bonus.

DM I just double checked my character to make sure everything was legal and realized that Graceful Grappler (EX) replaced Flurry of Blows. Since Boar Style doesn't synergize well with oversight on my part (my apologies) I would like to replace my 3&5 levels feets (Power Attack and Boar Style) with Dragon Style and Dragon Ferocity. I meet all pre-reqs for the Dragon line of feats (acrobat 3 and 5 ranks).
Sorry for the inconvenience :)

Hmm, so hard to figure out how to spend so much. Should I go for more armor or more wisdom when buying a magic item...
Maybe a ring, rings are pretty...
Also, would it cost any extra to have my armor and shield to have gilded symbols of Sarenrae on them?
And a gilded holy symbol of Sarenrae too? Silver for a Sun deity just won't do.
Khaldrun the Rapid |
Yeah sorry, lol, off sick at the moment with a broken foot so I've got a lot of time on my hands ;)
I'm not sure why you would want a Greyflame weapon though Kirsteen, you are going to be terrible in melee with those stats, so it seems a crying shame to spend half of your wealth on a item that won't be very useful for you. A Greyflame Scimitar would have to be +1 and masterwork, so it would cost 9300gp plus whatever the base cost of a scimitar is, not 1015gp. Consider getting a Consecrated Scimitar instead, you could pick up a masterwork consecrated scimitar for 450gp. Check out the religious items page, theres alot of cool stuff there that would fit your character well, sanctified shield being the other one than really springs to mind.
Also the wand of cure moderate wounds isn't great value for money, especially as you can spontaneously cast it if you needed a bigger chunk of healing and heal much more. A wand of cure light heals 275hp on average, and is a good deal, whereas a wand of cure moderate wounds heals 600hp on average, just over twice as much healing for six times the cost!
Kirsteen |
When I looked at Greyflame I just saw Price +1 bonus and thought that was the price for the sword. Obviously I'm not going to bother with it if it's going to cost that much though. I'll look over another choice for my weapon.
Edit: Gotta go afk a while I'll figure it out later.

did we decide on some communication method?
Joy...looks like the runelords DM bailed before finishing the recuitment.
Khaldrun the Rapid |
Happens a lot sadly. Just found out my virtual tabletop DM cancelled our Campaign that was supposed to take place tonight :p
I've got alot of time on my hands at the moment because I'm off sick, but even when I'm back at work I should be able to manage a fair few posts per day.

I could be the 'muscle' if there is a bidding war on something we want I can try and intimidate the other buyer in hopes of closing the deal. Kinda like Ton Jones from the tv show Auction Hunters if anyone has seen it.
Torsk |
i am good whenever...I'll be leaving for work around 2:30 PST and will be on very sporadically during the night. Otherwise I won't be on until tomorrow morning. Sorry for any issues it may cause :)
