Asok looks in the direction of the sound. "We either leave it be, or go looking to make sure it doesn't come looking for a snack later." he says.

"I've never heard any story that ended well that began with 'Well, we went searching for the angry dragon'..."

Halloran looks to the West, where he believes the sound came from, So do we continue on our way, and hope we don't run into yonder beasty? Or do we follow the noise and see what's going on? I believe that is the decision we're currently facing. Personally, I think that's one introduction that can wait for another day, but I'll abide by the party decision, I just hope no one is in trouble.

Elaine says "I hope so too but I think we could become more of a problem if we just feed the dragon."

"If it is a dragon, then feeding it is something I don't wish to do." Silstaren says emphatically. "Since a dragon is beyond our power to deal with, I suggest we continue with our plan. We can ask Oleg about local dragons when we return to the fort."

"An excellent plan, Silstaren." Asok says gravely. "But I suggest we double the watches while we rest for the next few days, and be extra wary while we travel."

"We should definitely try to be less tasty, as well. I will endeavor to do my part, though I am given to understand that I am quite tasty to the opposite sex." Mikka says gravely.

"You may be in danger if it's a she-Dragon, then, Mikka. Maybe you should eat a bag of those beans. That might make you less appealing." Asok says with a smirk.

"Only if you promise to keep any flames away. I'd hate to kill us all with a sudden expulsion of gas!"

lol, that's gold, Asok and Mikka.

"I think that stands even without you eating those beans, Mikka"

Elaine laughs at the conversation between Mikka and Asok.

Oh the elevated rheotorical heights of human conversation, Silstaren thinks.

He replies to Asok, "Doubled watches are a good idea."

Asok draws his Shortbow and backs Brand away, watching the sky.

Does anyone know what made those nests? Halloran asks softly, scanning the sky as he backs up.

And what do these nests look like? Are we talking hornets, squirrels, or birds? And what size?

IRL I don't know jack, but I can tell a hornet's nest from a bird's nest and if the birds or hornets were giant-sized , I could certainly tell the nests were made for creatures bigger than my thumb or hand. I wasn't asking for exact species or specific information, just what any person might glean from seeing a nest.

Elaine will use spirit sense to see if there is any spirits nearby.like detect undead but for fey, undead,etheral, or incorpreal creatures

"That one, the sort of brown papery mound. It's got a fey look about it. But it would have to be one of the tinier wild folk."

Could they be dangerous? malicious perhaps? Halloran asks.

"I think that depends on what the fey creature it is, right, Silstaren? "

"It would indeed. There's mischief in all fey. With some it's goodnatured; with others it's mostly harmless pranks; with others it can be malicious indeed.

Eileen's suggestion to back away and give these nests a wide berth is prudent."

We should probably do so then. suiting actions to words, Halloran does just that.

Asok, his bow still in hand, turns Brand and continues to move away from the nests. "Hmm. Any chance the dragon sound we heard was these Fey having one over on us?" he muses.

Hearing that Halloran blinks, then turns to Silstaren and asks, Is there?

"Who know, maybe, maybe not?"

Elaine asks quietly "How would it be that loud if not through magic?"

"You'd be surprised at how loud some creatures can bellow when they are pi$$ed."

comedic Reference

"No way of knowing if it was fey or a real dragon until we meet them. The fey are the most cunning tricksters. We'd best just move on."

Silstaren hopes his sideways compliment will satisfy any fey who might be gaming them.

Good advice. Halloran says. And unless someone objects he will do just that.

"And let's hope we don't catch their eye, for pranks."
