Raul the Hunter |
Raul watches the others cross, ready to give aid if needed. In the meantime, he makes small talk with the vanara. "Where do vanara come from originally? I have heard of your people during my travels in Garund, but I have never actually met one until today."
GM Emmjay |
Artic will cross at quarter speed, though ready to jump to catch herself against the closest cliff side if possible
Taking his cue from the others, Artic Fox slowly makes his way across. And, of course, like the others before him, the board groans, creaks, and moans like a dying ghoul, ready to give way at the wrong time. But, like the others, she makes it across without the board collapsing or her falling off.
Vina Sitha |
Raul watches the others cross, ready to give aid if needed. In the meantime, he makes small talk with the vanara. "Where do vanara come from originally? I have heard of your people during my travels in Garund, but I have never actually met one until today."
"W-we hail... mostly... from distant Vudra... Mister Hunter. B-but my parents.. moved to Jalmeray before I was born." says Vina, intrigued by the human. She remains half hidden in the treant leaves, and nervously starts chewing on a small branch. The treant sapling's eyes widen and he shakes his leafy head in protest, and the vanara jumps to the ground and backflips a few steps away from the offended plant.
"S-ss-sorry, Lakadee... didn't meant too... sorry!"
Lakadee |
"Hmmmph!!" glowers the young treant.
Vina Sitha |
Vina carefully returns towards the tree, pets it profusely, and jumps back into its branches, tail latching to his shoulder.
GM Emmjay |
I am tracking that Rokhan hasn't attempted to cross, and the companions Vulka and Maudi haven't as well. Struggler attempted to leap across, but slipped on loose debris and fell in. I am still waiting on Strugglers Perception check, along with his masters.
Maudi the Giant Vulture |
Maudi remains perched on the roof of the Wounded Wisp.
I wonder what trouble my companion is getting himself into in a simple food house.

Struggler, looking up at his owner, thinks that there might be a couple of ledges and areas where he should be able to get up to the top, on the correct side of the fissure.
[ooc]Struggler, please give me a CLIMB check.[/occ]
GM Emmjay |

Taking his time, Struggler manages to make his way up the fissure to his master. Reunited, both companion and master are happy to be together again.
Raul the Hunter |
"Jalmeray?" Raul muses as the cat scrambles out of the crevice. "I have never been there. Perhaps I should visit. Is it nice?"
Vina Sitha |
"Jalmeray?" Raul muses as the cat scrambles out of the crevice. "I have never been there. Perhaps I should visit. Is it nice?"
"Th-the jungles... at the no-northern tip of the island are... breathtaking. The rest of the island is still nice, and full of monks everywhere. It is a good island to look inwards; a good island to learn to see all the layers of reality; a good island to peel the onion..." She closes her eyes and her facial expression appears to relax for the first time since you've met her. She smiles at Raul, through Lakadee's leaves.
Vina Sitha |
"Hee hee hee... rrr-rr-reality is like an onion. It has many layers. The magical, the natural, the ethereal, and many more. You can live your whole life looking at the outside of the onion and be fine. Some like to see the other layers, so they peel one by one. Some cut right to the middle with non-subtle means, but those are ready to shed some tears."
Rokhan Kruhl |
"Oh good Vulka...go slowly across. We can't get hurt early." Rokhan calls out to his dino before following the others leads with a careful crossing. Quarter Speed
GM Emmjay |
"Oh good Vulka...go slowly across. We can't get hurt early." Rokhan calls out to his dino before following the others leads with a careful crossing. Quarter Speed
Much like the others, as they cross (one at a time) the board squeaks and groans, making enough noise that you know in your heart that it will collapse shortly. But, you all make it across.
Now that everyone made it across, you all head over the the Wine Cellar to grab the bottle that Heryn points out. She stays at the door to the cellar, the better to catch anyone who might try to steal some of the better vintages. However, when you go to retrieve the bottle, it acts as a latch release and the wall slides away to reveal a hidden passageway.
"What, how did, wait, what?"Heryn mutters, not understanding how the hidden door got there. "Well, don't just stand there, go and look around. I will wait here for you to come back."
Taking her cue, you all make your way into a lost chamber. A sturdy silver chain jutting from the ceiling ends in a glowing orb that radiates yellow light across the rectangular room. A simple desk of polished wood, stacked with documents and scattered notes, shelters a pair of wooden chests against the south wall. A series of cracks along the eastern and western walls form makeshift entrances into exposed caverns.

Raul nocks and arrow and it flies true, however it hits a non-vital part of the creature.
Vulka barrels past the orange spider and delivers a vicious attack with her talons, opening up a nasty gash in its side.
Eroil casts bless using her wand, and orders her companion, Struggler, to attack the yellow spider.
Lakadee misses his attack as the spider rears up on his hind legs and dodges the attack.
Rokhan Readies himself against a possible incoming attack from either the two known spiders, or from any of the other tunnels.
Struggler makes his way to the spider, but in his haste to please her, and his shameful display earlier falling into the chasm, has left him struggling with self-assurance and he fails to hit his mark.
El Garrapata storms to the front of the Red Spider, effectively blocking its path. Fortunatly, his size and the Spiders bulk makes for an easy target and he connects with a powerful punch. You forgot to add in the +1 to hit from the cast Bless.
Vina orders her tree house companion to attack the orange spider, and then defends herself from an incoming attack.
Artic Fox casts Bane against both spiders, attempting to shake both of them with fear and doubt.

Both spiders are downed in a flurry of blows, swipes, slams, and an arrow before they can even attack back in retaliation.
As a group you now take the time to completely analyze the room and it contents, specifically the desk and the papers on it. I'm going to assume the group takes 20 for their Perception checks. The papers and journals chronicle, to a greater or lesser degree, the exploits of Selmius Foster, a famous Pathfinder whose name you recognize from your training. Most of Foster’s more infamous adventures appear here in varying amounts of detail, but it is evident there is another investigation he had been pursuing before he died: the lost records of a Society agent named Eylysia. (See Handouts #1 and #2)
The two handouts seem to give 3 major leads to finding the lost records of Eylysia: the defaced Wall of Names, Arkath the Stonemason, and Gnome Fimbrick.
However, before you can decide what to do with your newfound knowledge, Heryn barges in from the secret doorway "What happened, what is going on?"
Eroil the Arrow |
Eroil uses another wand to cure struggler.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Eroil casts detect magic.
"We found this place. Seems this was once a private study of Selmius Foster. And there were some spiders living here. Not anymore!"
GM Emmjay |
Eroil casts detect magic.
The only magic you can detect is the flame hanging from the chain in the ceiling that lights up the chamber.
Vina Sitha |
Vina sifts through all the documents hungrily, "W-w-we should go see Gnome Fimbrick! I think he knows things!"
GM Emmjay |
Eroil takes the flame down. Inspecting it.
Eroil takes the flame down. Interesting, it creates no heat, as if from a magic spell. Removed from its location, you notice that it shines as well as a torch would.
As 1/2 the group has decided to go and talk to Fimbrick, the group will head there. If someone who didn't post yet has something that they want to do before the groups goes and sees him, we will backdate the post to before the group heads there.
SLIDE #5, Figures have been moved there
A long-serving member of the Arcanamirium— Absalom’s largest and oldest magical institution—the gnome Fimbrik worked closely with Eylysia. Despite never becoming a member of the Pathfinder Society, Fimbrik aided Eylysia as a colleague and as a fellow wandering gnome whenever he could, eventually culminating in his assistance in hiding her repository of secret knowledge. Selmius Foster noted the friendship and recorded his suspicions that Fimbrik was in league with whatever scheme Eylysia had devised. Unlike the majority of Eylysia’s old contacts, the long lived Fimbrik is still alive. Yhe Arcanamirium allows the gnome a sizable residence on its campus in Absalom’s Wise Quarter. Foster’s notes record Fimbrik’s address.
A brick step leads to Fimbrik’s front entrance, and Numerous stacks of newspapers—roughly 2 years’ worth of monthly copies—are piled around the door and crammed into a thin slot at its base. Each rounded corner of the building has a large window that you may be able to peer into to look around.
GM Emmjay |
Garrapata frowns at the newspaper stacks. "Perhaps the GNOME is no longer a READER?" He knocks loudly on the front door.
Bang, Bang, Bang! El Garrapata beats on the door. Nothing happens.
GM Emmjay |
El Garrapata stares at the door. He listens at the door. Finally he knocks the door down. Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Taking a few steps backwards, El Garrapata charges the door in an attempt to knock the door down. However, when he reaches the step to the door he slips on one of the newspapers and can more accurately be described as falling into the door rather than bashing it.
Vina Sitha |
Vina and Lakadee move to the closest window. Hanging from Lakadee's branches by her tail, Vina stealthily spies through the window.
Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
