On a possible Southern Garund book

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

So only about half of Garund is covered in any detail, being part of the Inner Sea region and the "main" setting of Golarion. Its southern parts meanwhile have been left mostly obscure, either from 1e mystifying it or 2e just not getting to it. We know most about Holomog, as it got a gazetteer in a Blood Lords backmatter, and Droon has been mentioned often- especially in Howl of the Wild. Beyond that we don't know too much about what's going on there. I'd love to one day get a proper Lost Omens book covering what it's like there; I'm not sure if we'd get it, as it's neither big enough for an overview book like the Tian Xia World Guide nor small enough to be a metaregion, having some eight or so countries in it. Still, I think there's a lot of merit in developing it further.

-Murraseth and Nurvatcha would provide some interesting perspectives as the origin point or homeland for Amurrun and Anadi respectively. The former especially has (something) inside it making it particularly secretive.
-Holomog is very unique, with its celestial-based hegemony and proximity to Geb, and it's likely been affected by the Godsrain in some interesting ways.
-Droon has dinosaur-riding Iruxi and I think that's really cool.
-Eihlona has advanced technology, automatons, and Shory remnants, which surely have escalated since last covered (especially with Nex also dabbling in Automatons).

Much of the lore that exists about those (or other less-mentioned nations there) is very fragmented, usually spread across a bunch of books or concentrated on an article on something unrelated. I'm partly motivated by great curiosity, but perhaps after the Gold Road is covered (I suspect either after the Saga Lands or the Broken Lands) there would be interest in completing the remainder of Garund.

As I am rather fond of the Anandi, and I know a lot of Catfolk fans, I second some more development in the region.

As there is also both a Kelish Empire and Vudra colony in the region, that would allow other avenues of connection if needed or desired and I'm curious how much or little influence that would have.

Broken Lands, Golden Road, and Arcadia are all more pressing for me, but I'd love to properly see Southern Garund someday! Droon, Eihlona, and Murraseth all seem so fun.

There you are. I was wondering when you'd show up in this thread.

And Probably will have tiny little dinosaurs that can serve as familiars, and maybe tiny little pterodactyl look alikes that steal from you like monkeys in some modern cities or ravens only cooler, because, well dinosaurs. :)

(I've really got no idea, but your enthusiasm IS contagious)

Microraptor and Nemicolopterus would both make for excellent familiar options, I'm just saying. All you need to really do is give them fantasy creature names instead of taxonomic ones.

Judging by the world maps, Southern Garund is more like the other 3/4 of the continent than half. I'd say that's easily large enough for a LOTX style overview, after all that's about as large as the area covered by Lost Omens World Guide (and its predecessor the Inner Sea World Guide).

There are also other nations and regions, mostly city-states (including the lizardfolk city of Ekkeshikaar on an island by western Garund, a few more amurrun/catfolk ones, and the three Kaz'ulu cities inhabited by Bekyar humans). Even if Droon is large enough to cover the whole remainder of the east coast, that still leaves most areas west of the Shattered Range, the rest of the west coast, and everything south of that big lake (or inland sea?) including the islands off the southern coast.

Southern Garund has lot of things to my personal xenofiction tastes yeah.
