(Remaster) Druid Cantrip Expansion?

Rules Discussion

I had hoped this would be answered/fixed when PF2E got its remaster in the Player Core series, but apparently it didn't...so I'm asking again in hopes that someone on the design team might see this.

Is there a reason that Druids are the only spellcasting class in the game that doesn't get access to the Cantrip Expansion feat?

Because they get Shield Block by default?

It isn't exactly the hardest thing to houserule in if you feel like you need it.

There are so many other ways to pick up a cantrip. Like buy a spell heart or use a familiar or take an archetype or just an ancestry feat. Cantrip expansion is not terrible, but it is pretty rare to need it over Order Explorer.

I've never missed it.

It does kind stink if you want to have a lot of cantrips...but I can't say it's something I've ever been too interested in. At least not as you continue leveling up.

Anyways, it's pretty easy to just rule that Druid can take it too if they want. It's definitely not a power creep option.

The reason? Because Paizo choose to have not all of spellcasting be completely symetrical across the classes. They want these little odd corners to exist in the game. Presumably they feel quirks aid the game or the flavour in some way. Example Clerics don't get Effortless Concentration - that hurts a lot more.

They aren't. Animists and Summoner don't either.

Probably is due book space.

last I played druid in a non-FA game I just picked an archetype that gave cantrips as part of its dedication. I guess you could also pick up a familiar for another cantrip.

Which I don't understand. They're only trained in simple weapons, so they're not really expected to be in melee often enough to justify shield block.

Yup. Hell, replace shield block with it if you feel it necessary. I may give my players options since I actually like the new druid and hope someone plays one in an upcoming adventure.
