In light of the recent confusion surrounding our July 22 announcement regarding Open Game Content and Pathfinder and Starfinder Infinite changes taking place on September 1, we have postponed the date of this transition to October 1, 2024. In the coming weeks, we plan to provide more information on changes to the Infinite publishing agreement and offer guidance to creators who wish to continue the publication of Pathfinder First Edition and Starfinder First Edition content on the platform. Thank you for your patience and support of the Pathfinder and Starfinder Infinite communities.

I'm glad to see that this has been postponed further while further investigations are being had.

I hope to see that this becomes something amenable for the 1e communities.

I am extremely relieved to hear this. Thank you for your continued correspondence.

Hurray!

The flurry of people getting SF1e stuff out before the deadline was a pretty strong demonstration, I guess

I guess this is a setp but I am still pessimistic.

Any ideas or word on IF or How future 1E print on demand titles will work. We were getting a pretty good stream of out of print 1E Ap's for a while and than it completely stopped and I assume the ogl fiasco was the reason for this.

I really hope a continuation of thus support happens at some point.

Reprints and a 1e to 2e conversion are all I have bought on Infinite. If that completely dries up I will have no use for it personally.

Well, this turn of events is disturbing and disappointing.
I and my group had hoped third party content for 1E Pathfinder would continue to be available, as PF2E and ORC hold no interest at all for us and we aren't willing to make the jump.

Its been nice knowing you all, folks. Thanks for all the great products, sorry I couldn't keep buying them longer.

I'm a little more hopeful than that. However, if 'guidance to continue publishing 1e' is "don't use OGL rules contents", then that's pretty much pointless.

You are aware that Pathfinder Infinite isn't the entirety of the PF1 works right?

This is ONLY about Pathfinder Infinite, not the rest of the DTRPG.

Thank you very much for the update (and I echo the gratitude and positive feedback from the community for all of these changes announced to date). I’ll keep my eyes on this space for more on the future of 1E content on Infinite!

In all fairness, I don't think there was that much "confusion" on the part of the community. Paizo made a pretty grievous misstep with the Fan Content Policy, the community pushed back in a big way, and to their credit, Paizo seems to have listened. See, nobody was confused (the community certainly wasn't).

The stay of execution is absolutely appreciated (especially for everyone with 1e Pathfinder & Starfinder Infinite projects still in the air), but I'm still concerned on whether Paizo is going to demand that all content published for PF1e, SF1e, and PF2e Legacy be on the Infinite Platform.

That didn't enter into it at all. Mostly, it was a lot of work reformatting our old print files for POD and the number of folks buying them wasn't enough to keep the program going. Additionally, there was a change in how Adobe inDesign handles TrueType (or maybe it was OpenType) fonts between the versions we originally laid the books out on and the one we or DTRPG would have to use today, and this was leading to some quality control issues that weren't easy fixes. So, POD has been put on hold until demand for it increases or we find a different workflow that justifies the opportunity cost of working on 10+ year old products versus new stuff.

As we're a week out of Oct 1, any updates on the guidance for continuing PF and SF 1e on Infinite?

Re Oct 1, is that the last day to make a submission to Pathfinder Infinite, or the last day of September?

Greetings to Mark and the team- I am just re-upping this thread given the impending 10/1 deadline. Thank you!
