Hey all, I was just wondering if your PCs ever tried to sell or get more info on the Whispering Reeds from NPCs. If so how much would you say the book is worth? While incredibly rare I feel that no one except maybe Wrin would own such a dark book, if they even knew what it is.
Personally I was thinking of hiding most of the rules of the book behind some identification checks and as they read through some of the stories within. Given how rare it is I feel that Morliblint\Wrin would at best only have the vaguest inkling as to what this book is.
Thanks!

I'd go with this. Later on in the AP you might encounter items to which similar rules apply, such as
Sadly my group hasn't used the book yet, they just crammed it into their bag of holding :-(
Would be interesting to share some of the 'stories' written within.

I've let them know about all the abilities of the book, but not, of course, about the drawbacks and the curse. Now waiting on them to use it.
Following on from GM Steve (Recall Knowledge on YouTube) & his advice on running the AV, I've changed the text in the initial Roll20 Whispering Reeds tome (after making a copy!) & given them initial impressions from a quick perusal...
I will slowly give them its abilities.... without telling them its curse.. but I will drip feed them some warnings/ concerns/ contradictions....
