What's a good base for a non-lethal / Pure Spellcaster cleric?

This might not seem like the best idea but it's something I really wanna do.
Basically, I wanna make a "Saint" character who has increased spellcasting ability at the cost of a vow of nonlethality to the extent that they can't even pick up a weapon relying only on their faith and spellcasting prowess to protect themselves.
They also need to worship Iomadae, just to narrow it down.

Not sure Iomedae would be the best deity in which to model such a character, but it is certainly possible. I suggest you explore the Ecclesitheurge archetype for the cleric. It is one of the more priestly archetypes, shunning most weapons and armor, and gives them some interesting flexibility with their domains.

Other than that, I'd focus on being mostly anti-undead (where your 'vow' on nonlethality can be 'suspended) and using non-lethal damage (merciful weapons come in mind here) and item crafting.

Are 3PP classes allowed? If so, I'd go with this from Kobold Press/Open Design. The Priest class uses a wizard's BAB and gets increased spellcasting ability plus some other nifty things.

Sounds a bit like a blossoming light cleric. More of a Serenrae world view than Iomedae, but either could have blossoming lights.

Personally, I would take this opportunity to be an Evangelist Cleric. Focus on buffing your team rather than doing any actual work yourself.

Be a diplomancer... Silver Tongued, the Human alternate racial feature, allows you to change a creature's attitude 3 steps with Diplomacy... the Focused Study alternate racial feature gives you Skill Focus at 1, 8, and 16... Authorative Vestments are cheap... and this is a perfect time to use the Concilator story feat.

I'm definitely considering that but I already have something similar in the form of a Life oracle. I'm worried about them overlapping too much.

Yea Iomedae is probably the wrong deity for this, Sarenrae would be a much better choice. Her Divine fighting technique allows you to deal nonlethal damage the fire, good or light descriptor. It also allows you to deal nonlethal damage with a scimitar without penalty. You could still refuse to pick up a weapon and use the technique only on spells.

The Ecclesitheurge seems to be the best fit for what you are looking at. Domain mastery gives you the ability to use non-domain slots for your primary domain spells. You can also change your domain spells for your second domain on a daily basis. It may not grant extra spells, but a cleric already gets the strongest spell progression in the game. The extra flexibility does give you more option on your spells.

Blossoming Light does not seem like it fits what you are looking for. You lose domain spells, so end up losing spell casting ability instead of gaining more.

You wouldn't be wrong I'm also musing on separatist for this very reason since like you said this would work extremely differently from your typical iomadae worshiper.

For combat you could also focus on non-lethal combat maneuvers such as trip, dirty trick, disarm etc. None of these need injure the enemy yet still reduce their combat effectiveness against the party. With improved unarmed strike you also wouldn’t need to pick up a weapon either.
