Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

There’s a whole lot of history before the Age of Lost Omens, and I hope we can eventually dabble in times gone by, whether through chronomancy or actual guides to the eras. What stands out?

I dearly want a peek at the post-Earthfall period, sunless years of horror and survival. You’d be desperately clinging to relics people no longer understand, where the only “nation” standing is one ruled by an alien god of suffering. Many other gods are dead or distant. The elves have largely fled this world, and strange creatures rise from the deep.

Give me the sword and sorcery post-apocalypse, basically.

The Oath Wars in Rahadoum are fascinating to me, I like Rahadoum as a nation and would like to see an exploration of what parts of this broke bad enough to lead to the relatively extreme path the nation took towards freedom from religious violence.

Further back, an exploration of the Ghol-Gan empire particularly appeals to me. I think they're neat, it would give room for large-size PCs since the world is built for cyclopes, I'm curious how classes like Champion and Cleric and Inquisitor would change if the religious practice revolves less around deities and more around the Sun and the Moon, would like to see how prophecy as a going concern affects a nation of giants with the gift of foresight, and think it's a good setup for fighting alghollthu who are considerably more active at this point in Golarion's history.

I really like the post-Earthfall period, and it could be relatively easy to do by using the Rarity toggle.

And I would love an AP about the coming of Old-Man Jatembe.

Really, any opportunity to rub elbows with past luminaries would be great : Aroden and Arazni when mortals, same with Iomedae, Baba Yaga creating Irrisen, Choral's conquests, the Taldan armies of exploration, the collapse of Taldor and that of Cheliax, the rise of House Thrune, of Andoran, of Galt, the birth of Nidal.

But all of that will be Pathfinder Infinite at best.

James Jacobs explained how much additional work creating a new setting would be and they have already not enough resources to explore all of the current one.

I'd honestly want to see Age of Serpents AND Primeval/Prehistoric age from 1e scepter of ages article ;P Latter probably works more of "oh no you got time travelled to super distant past!" dealio, but idea of pre pre historic or prehistoric fantasy world (land of mammoth lords doesn't count since they are really more of fantasy amish when you think about it ;P) is really fascinating to me. I don't think latter will ever happen though because they are pre "earliest known age" of Serpents and it would be really niche as setting(even in scepter of ages article they are really more of placeholders).

Age of Serpents would just be fascinating to see world ruled by reptilian humanoids and lack of major human presence
