Two weapon fighting with Whips

Rules Questions

Playing a high level one shot. A concept is a melee build using whips. Unchained rogue pain taster and getting all the various whip feats. Planning on using paired whips if legal.

Nothing says it is not a legal combination.

Go for it.

Cool. The anime Castlevania the hero fought a nasty monster using a metal whip and a regular whip. The fight was so cool. Reach of 15Feet a perk. Looking at Warpriest making the whip damage a little more impressive

Dark Archive

use an effortless lace on the off hand one so now you take the light weapon penalty for TWF instead of the 1 handed.

i like warpriest twf whip users myself

yeah, I built one up for fun earlier this week. there's a whip using swashbuckler archetype that's pretty awesome

Warpriest at my level does more then 1d3 and as unchained rogue get WP Finesse and use dex for damage. Hobgoblin racial trait get profiency

Dual wielding Whips reminds me of the main villain in Ironman 2. Whips are melee slashing, and you're doing a high level one shot... SOOOooooo.... think you could afford x2 Vorpal Whips? :D

If you can afford it, and want to do a char concept like that, I'd try to figure out a way to get Gr TWF, Combat Reflexes, and Imp Whip Mastery, and get a Fortune buff to maximize your chances for a 20. Either get Fortune from your group, or there might be some VMC options to get a Fortune buff yourself. If you're going to level 15+, VMC Witch would give you two hexes, which is enough for Fortune + Cackle. Get a Cackling Hag's Blouse so you can Cackle as a Swift + Full Attack x2 per day.

Wouldn't that be cool to roll a 20 or two that night and pop some heads from 15-20ft away :D

That's a good way of fighting and especially fun if you can muster the many feats to abuse the living Hell Abyss out of combat maneuvers:

The Balor Whip (+Improved +Greater) chain + the Drag chain + Trip chain makes you do lots of drags and (party) attacks of opportunity - when riding, the mount gets AoO from the drag. But again, along with dual wielding feats it really melts all your (bonus) feats away, but if you have any left: Reverse Somersault, Riptide Attack.

Another idea is to use Enlarge Person (if you're a medium creature) or a similar ability to increase your natural reach to 10 feet, which then gets tripled with a whip to 30ft. You won't need to move a lot with such a huge reach, leaving you with many Full-Attack Actions.

I had made a pc for another player once for Skulls & Shackles. It was a Two Weapon Warrior Fighter that dual wielded whips. He was designed to be an AO master as he could hit twice for each AO provoked(10 ft reach for the AO's) Also, with the 15 ft reach for regular attacks he could 5 foot step and then full attack more often than most martials. I think it was pretty solid. :)

Hmm that reverse somersault seems great for throwing people off of stuff.
