Future proofing?
Future proofing.
Def Future Proofing. I actually LOVE it when I see stuff like this because it is just so much of an improvement over "the-old-ways."
It's future proofing yeah. Its same thing as how lot of ancestry weapon feats give access to their ancestral weapons that don't exists yet.

No it’s future proofing to prevent headaches later, this isn’t the first instance they’ve done something like this for this edition, keeps everything smooth as they release new options.

As the others have said its so that as the years go on kobolds don't accidentally get locked out of stuff that they clearly should have access to. Nobody puts our lil dragon buddies in a corner.

If I were to hazard a guess as to when we will see Mitey Dragon Snares, it's going to be in Lost Omens Ancestry Guide.

...so what you're saying here is you didn't actually want to hear the answer? You understand that Paizo is going to print new books, right?
Wait, these are your only posts you've ever made. You really want to spend your time trolling over this, dude?
Wizard Level 1 wrote: I'm not drinking the 'future proofing' cool-aid, thanks. You took an optional flaw in Wisdom with a locked Ancestry flaw in that stat to pump your Dex and Int huh? Shame.
Man people really will find any reason to get upset.

I didn't buy this book to get references in it to things that MIGHT exist in the future,, I bought it for the content it has now, and it is quite frankly either missing content or includes allusions to content that simply was not going to exist. Where did you get your information that the content is simply not going to exist? If you're just making that up, then you're in the same position as the people think it is future proofing.
You believe they either made an error, or they are gaslighting you. Other people believe it's neither a mistake nor mental cruelty.
Reality is that there is a reference to something that does not currently exist. You have a choice: tell yourself a story that makes you feel bad, or tell yourself a story that makes you feel good.
But it's all in your head: whatever emotions you want to feel, you get to choose.

Despite Christmas being in July this year, Joey found a way to be unhappy.

Throwing insults just because you don't like the answers doesn't change the answers.
This wasn't an oops, it's been a goal (one that's already born fruit) to be better about future proofing so that future options don't make broken or awkward situations when interacting with previous options.

Wizard Level 1 wrote: Rysky wrote: No it’s future proofing to prevent headaches later, this isn’t the first instance they’ve done something like this for this edition, keeps everything smooth as they release new options. "It's future proofing!" AKA "Oops, we forgot, let's say it was intentional for stuff coming in the future"
They forgot they were suppose to add more snares to the book, or a list of what current snares are considered kobold snares, or they didn't have time. If you and others are comfortable making excuses for it and feel better explaining it away with 'future proofing' bollox, thats fine. I expect better from Paizo. I didn't buy this book to get references in it to things that MIGHT exist in the future,, I bought it for the content it has now, and it is quite frankly either missing content or includes allusions to content that simply was not going to exist.
kaid wrote: As the others have said .... I'm not drinking the 'future proofing' cool-aid, thanks. Are you unaware of the future proofing text in every classes weapon specialization class features? Or that some of the Gods in God's and Magic granted spells that didn't exist until the APG?
It's not a mistake and there isn't any flavoraid to drink, thanks.

And again, just because you don't like the answers doesn't make them wrong or "foolish".

(But this post is just future proofing that response so I'll write it down later.)

This is so sad.
And just so you're aware your posts can only be edited within one hour before they become locked ^w^

The future only lasts an hour, and you missed the window.
