You can be INT 8 even. You won't be optimized at offensive spells or at counterspells. That's it.

How can you get an INT 8 wizard using the standard PC building rules?

This is probably the weakest thing you could possibly do with the alchemist. At range, you'll never match a real martial at single target damage, pitiful splash damage is worthless considering that full caster AoE damage is bad …

You don’t really know what you’re talking about, do you?

So you've stopped the game and made the other five players do nothing while one player searches all the rooms, finds all the creatures, and then returns to the party?

You have a weird idea of what scouting entails. You don’t need to hog the spotlight to scout. Is that what you want when you complain about your Rangers not getting a chance to scout?

PS: I'm not sure why I'm getting SO much pushback on me not liking inventors not getting access to firearms... I didn't know SO many people where invested on them not having them.

You're surprised that people have strong opinions about firearms in their fantasy? That's... not particularly surprising.

As for pushback, you might get less if you started your own respectful criticism rather than chiming in on somebody else's. When you begin by arguing, it tends to attract argument.

Well, this thread is a great example of why they address these things on YouTube instead of the forums.

A battle oracle in their curse hits about as often as a barbarian, but instead of rage damage and resistances gets full spellcasting and fast healing. Seems about right as is.

Haven't played them enough to say for sure. But lets say they are about right.

Add a bard. Or heroism. Now the barbarian is a lot better than the battle oracle. See the issue? One can get easily buffed, the other can't.

waves as the goalposts fly past

There are a lot of party compositions that can work without either.

Concerning Combat Reflexes, wouldn't specific beat general in this case?

Yeah, it doesn't say "You can only use one reaction per round." If it was meant to limit you to one it would have said that.
The problem is that Combat Reflexes does not address the specific limitation that is on p11 of the CRB "... each character can use up to one reaction during a round." It could very well have been meant as an additional reaction OPTION. Thus, if you had another type of reaction (say a Champion), you would choose between the two.

The "Basics of Play" section is not rules. It is a descriptive overview. Page 9 said that a nat 20 is a critical success, when we know that is only often the case. The actual rules are more specific and don't limit reactions to 1/round.

No other class keeps returning this amount of discussion and I think that is somewhat telling. There is no smoke without fire, as they say, and nothing has produced as much smoke as the Wizard. It's just that no one can agree what exactly is on fire.

I don’t know. People can blow a lot of smoke from very little. Sometimes it’s just an alchemust with a smokestick.

Isn't Electric Arc or Scatter Scree something you can only get on a Wizard via an Ancestry Feat? Are we really saying that a class is balanced because it can poach a spell from another tradition via means entirely unrelated to the class?

Have... have you played this game? Or have you never so much as glanced at an arcane caster?

Page varies The term "magus’s" is used repeatedly throughout. Possessive nouns ending in an s should end in an apostrophe, not an apostrophe and an "s." As written it is grammatically incorrect.

Only if the noun is plural. As "magus" is singular, the form "magus's" is correct.

round defined in RAW as a combat round from highest to lowest initiative, regardless of my position

If that were the case it would be called a flat, not a round. Time is a circle. Once it is going, there is no need for highest or lowest initiative, only the order of who is next. Round as you want to define it is not a particularly useful concept.

When can we actually see this errata? I get that Ysoki mechanic every time I try to look it up. And I have used three different browsers on two different computers.
It works for me only in Incognito mode. I also notice that if I'm not using Incognito mode, the FAQ page says "Sign In" instead of the expected "My Account" when I'm already signed in.

If you are seeing that bug, you might try logging out, then back in to Paizo.

Considering that's what the PF1 class was, your argument is disingenuous.

You don’t seem to have played much Pathfinder 2nd.

Oh no, clerics and druids don’t get everything for free. /s

Some characters get free items at creation, everyone has to pay for more items. Clerics and druids get a nice number of free spells known at creation, everyone has to pay for more spells known.

To be clear, I wasn't upset by the missing content, I was just asking to see if I was missing something. I was frustrated by the responses to the post and I do not suffer foolishness gladly.

Who hurt you?

Everyone has Spidey-sense. Initiative isn't exactly an opposed roll, it is a ranked roll. Rolling higher does deserve a benefit.

It's easy!

Rocket tag is doing so much damage in the first round that you cripple or defeat your enemy and prevent any retaliation.

Alpha-striking is hoping you can do so much damage in the first round that you cripple or defeat your enemy and prevent any retaliation.
