What should I play

Advice

I am going to be part of a 3 man party plus a healbot NPC and I am kinda wondering what I should play

Player 1 is an Oracle or an unknown race with the Physical Exemplar Archetype from rogue genius games

Player 2 is well .....He is a Vorpal Knight some 3rd party class I never heard of before

And me I am unsure. I want 5o stay away from melee

I am thinking of be a caster or archer of some kind but not sure what s&%$ the party better

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Maybe a Grenadier Alchemist archer with Explosive Missiles? Versatile. Effective. Simple.

Shadow Lodge

Arcanist gives flexibility and staying power, sort of the best of wizards and sorcerers together.

Sorcerer-1/Scool Savant Arcanist-X

With the Bloodline Development exploit at level 5.

This really adds some depth, with Bloodline Arcana and Bloodline Powers, as well as a Wizard's school benefits.

The party doesn't have a Wizard or a Rogue, so some kind of Arcane Trickster?

Nothing wrong with a bard. Very versatile and always fun to play

An arrowsong minstrel bard (aiming for arcane archer) could do the ranged and bard buffing stuff well enough.

Grenadier Alchemist would be a great choice. An Eldritch Archer Magus could also be interesting (both are archetypes I'd like to try).

Half-Elf Wizard (Universalist: Arcane Builder) with a Valet Familiar. Choose an owl. Take traits to gain Stealth and Perception as class skills with a +1 Trait bonus. Spend your Skill Focus on Perception.

Build around having mass amounts of consumables until you can start making Wondrous Items. Take spells that buff others and use your owl to deliver them. For attacks, count on high Dex, ray attacks and potentially Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot.

With your bonus feats take Extend Spell on one of them. Act as the force multiplier for the other 2 PCs. In case anything ever gets past them have the spell Windy Escape handy and always have a store of Mage Armor scrolls laying around. Finally, get as much mileage out of the spell Glitterdust as you possibly can.

This PC is a decent scout using their familiar's Perception boost in dim light. They're also the buffer of the party, dealing DPR through the bonuses they had out to the other PCs. At mid level you're the Haste delivery system. You also craft cheap magic items to keep everyone's gear up to speed. As a universalist you've got plenty of diversity for all kinds of spells. Spend extra coins any time you can to add new spells to your spellbooks.

Wizard spellslinger magic and gun's killer combo
