Who's going to be playing this weekend? Do you have settings or campaigns already set up?
I'm reaaaally excited to get to play around with the new system.
In case you missed it, we'll have Pathfinder Second Edition tomorrow! Complete with the Account Sync with your Paizo account so you can unlock the PDF. http://roll20.io/PF2Blog

I've never tried Roll20, but have had an unused account for a long time. Maybe this is the time to learn the system and start using it.
I haven't been using a virtual tabletop for long (only started this year) and I absolutely love it. I've started making encounter maps for my in-person games in-app. I hope you at least get to try it! I know we're going to have a special map done by one of our Marketplace creators for the first PF2 Adventure Path too.

Okay hopefully I'm missing something but I bought the PDF from Paizo and now I have to buy it again from Rolld20 for 48 dollars?
Why would I want to do this?
It doesn't just be like "Oh you bought the PDF already? Here's all the stuff on Rolld20"
Because it is not the same thing. They have taken the time/labor to enter all the data into their platform and should be (rightfully so) compensated for that.
BTW the discount/cross promotion/discount thing is new, and I persoanlly think it is awesome and a step in the right direction. Thanks Paizo/Roll20!!

Do you get access to it if you are a premium member? Or would you still have to pay for it?
A premium member (Pro) of Roll20? No
I must add that I have bought the 5e versions on Roll20 and all the functionality (Drag and Drop on Char sheet, Online Compendium , Charactermancer (Creator) support) is well worth the price and is what you are paying for. If this does not appeal to you, than it might just not be for you.
Note: They have the Character sheet and (NPC/Monster Sheets coming soon) for free, so technically you don't need any of the above to play.
Hope that helps

And yeah, we have a ton of updates in the works for the PF2 integration, both for the Character sheet and Compendium. All of the Character sheet capabilities are available for every user, from free to Pro subscribers.
Charactermancer for PF2 is currently slated to be live for early 2020, I personally can't wait for that. It makes character creation SO easy.

For anyone that has been, or is interested playing on Roll20, we have Fall of Plaguestone now and the NPC sheets are live! Our User Collab team has been working really hard to get the Character Sheets as integrated as possible.
As someone who used to only play in person, ngl this whole playing online thing (wherever you play) is pretty freakin' sweet.

I will wait until I have enough material, but I think PF2 lends itself well to Roll20/virtual tabletops.
The thing is, with these rules-heavy, miniature-based games, I need rules support and modules, because doing it all from scratch is just not possible with my schedule (anymore). I need rules, monsters, maps and so on.
For less rules-heavy systems, I do not care that much, but even then, I find that the logistics are more demanding than at the table.
When I moved away from my regular gaming buddies, I started a couple of D&D 5e campaigns on Roll20, but the amount of work was simply too much. Nowadays, I just GM modules that give me everything I need, which is well worth the price.
So, some nice Adventure Path and maybe a Bestiary would be nice.

We'll definitely be working on Age of Ashes as soon as we're able, and Bestiary is currently getting worked on.
I know there are some text-only games or play by post. You could always try the LFG search, or you could create your own post for it? Loud households are definitely not conducive to using voice chat.
And yeah, modules are kind of heavenly as an adult. I love doing homebrew and world-building but oh wow there's only so much time in a day.

For anyone who's been playing on Roll20 or wants to, our User Collaboration team is making consistent updates (every two weeks at minimum) to the PF2e Character Sheet integration. http://roll20.io/PF2CharSheet
I was able to roll my spells with a single click and oh my word it was so nice to not have to keep the compendium open to look up each spell once I put all the info onto my sheet.
Is anyone else playing Fall of Plaguestone on Roll20? What's your party make-up?

I have to say that as someone who has never been on roll20, this is an incredibly non-intuitive way to get to a character sheet. I tried the other week when you last posted and no luck. Now at least with the latest link I was able to find a community member explain it to someone else, but I still can't quite seem to get it to pull up. I like to consider myself tech-savvy but TBH I'm a bit off-put by how buried the sheet is.
Meanwhile I was able to go to mythweavers, find a template, and start building right away. Granted, I know these are two completely different ways to play the game but at least it was intuitive and easy to follow. Anyway, found some games on mythweavers I'll be playing so guess that solves my dilemma .
Hate to sound negative so I will add that Charactermancer sounds pretty cool. I do intend to check back in once that has been finished. I just hope it's easier to find than these elusive sheets

I'm running 2 of my 4 groups through Plaguestone right now :)
I did remake the maps as I hate the "watercolorey 5Ed" type maps, but it is a 1-4 level adventure so I did not expect Paizo to go crazy on them.
I'm a bit bummed about leaving Age of Ashes til later compared to the Beast I book. As I'm getting a group together for that and hopefully as a player instead of Gming it. But I have all the maps (MUCH better maps thank god!!) and dynamic lighting set up and 4-5 of the 6 players, just looking for a GM to run this for us every saturday evening, no luck yet.
The sheet is a nice start but PLEASE get those 2nd and 3rd attack penalties in there ASAP, we can wait later for the other bells and whistles me thinks ;)
Cheers

Did you have issues finding the Pathfinder Second Edition sheet in the dropdown menu when creating a game? I would love to know the pain points in your process, if you don't mind sharing.
I'm glad you were able to find games to join elsewhere! I hope you have good groups.
And yeah, Charactermancer is gonna be shiny as heck. It makes everything so much easier, and far easier to entice new players into games. ;)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll pass along the attack penalties request, I'm pretty sure it's in the queue already but another voice asking for it never hurts.
Age of Ashes is definitely on the list after Bestiary, and I can definitely let you know a timeline update when I have one.
Best of luck finding a GM! It's always refreshing getting to be a player instead of a GM.

Oof, yeah, the Compendium support for PF2 is really expensive, and it's JUST the Compendium support and some art assets justifying the hike over the cost of the proper PDF from Paizo. PF1 got Compendium support for free and that was pretty instrumental in my groups preferring to use PF1 over D&D. Even 5e has at least its free SRD available. It stings quite a bit to pay so much for what's on pf2.aonprd.com for free. Seems to be the same case with Fantasy Grounds, though for some strange reason I can still drag and drop everything from the PF2 ruleset there despite not having purchased their module. I'm not quite sure what's included with theirs.
I guess here's hoping that OGL means we can get more affordable VTT support for PF2 somewhere.

Thanks for the kindly reply Bunny!!
Yep,, I found a GM and all set to go as a player with 5 others for a party of 6 in a couple weeks for Age of Ashes, YIPPEEEEEEEE!!!
Thanks for passing the feedback, also a lot of Monks and Rogue players so the -4 (2nd Attack) and -8 (3rd Attack) for their Agile Fist/Light Weapon attacks would also be something needed as well please :)
And on the last posters thoughts
Well PF II just came out and PF I has been out a long time when Roll20 picked it up so I have no problem paying to get the new Compendium for PF II.
I bought the physical book then bought the Roll20 Compedium for ease of use in game for Roll20 then I got the free PDF here because of the Roll20 purchase, and a discount on the Roll20 product, works for me.
And its nice to support the 2 companies that are making this happen!! :)
Others mileage may vary but for me this is a non issue in and of itself
Cheers

If any of you want to follow along with some of our integration updates for PF2e, our User Collab lead keeps this thread very up to date: http://roll20.io/PF2CharSheet.
She's been adding in the community's requests alongside the internal priorities while constantly updating current support.
Helmic- The cost of the product on Roll20 covers the current and any future integration, so maybe it'll be worth it you at some point. Regardless, I hope you find what you're looking for!
TRDG- grats on finding a GM! That's wicked exciting.

There's lots more on the way with regards to character sheet functionality, and the Bestiary is currently in production.
We also have Roll20Con coming up October 5 & 6 so if you've ever wanted to try out Dynamic Lighting (or want to help raise money for TakeThis.org), keep an eye out on our twitter (roll20app) or the blog on our website. Adam Koebel will be creating a Pathfinder2e adventure on stream that Saturday and running it Sunday.

Hey all! This weekend is Roll20Con and Adam Koebel is going to be building a PF2e game on Saturday at 3pm PT on twitch.tv/Roll20App if anyone wants to see it on the vtt. He's going to be running that build on Sunday morning at 10am PT. I'm excited to see what he's going to do with it.
Also, anyone with a Roll20 account also gets to try out Dynamic Lighting for free starting October 5 until October 15, in case that's something any of you have wanted to try. Details for the convention and the free trial are over here: http://roll20.io/Roll20Con2019

Yeah, what Gorbacz said! Adam is also the GM in Residence for Roll20. He's been playing on Roll20 and streaming games for years.
He actually did a full walkthrough of the Core Rulebook and Bestiary pdfs on his twitch channel yesterday. I haven't gotten to play PF2 in a few weeks and it really just had me jonesin' to go play.

when will paizo finish adding pathfinder 1st edition and starfinder adventure paths to roll 20? yall made this huge announcement about the partnership and lil to nothing has come of it. meanwhile DnD has all their stuff added to roll20 pretty much shortly after launch if not at launch.
I'm, not trying to be a jerk or anything, just curious as there is only one module to an adventure path for starfinder on roll20 and that been out for a long time now

Wanted to let you know that based on user feedback, our User Collab team made it so you can modify how you automatically roll (or not!) for critical damage. http://roll20.io/12Nov2019
There's some pretty nice progress on the PF2 sheet so if you check it out, let me know!
thats a pretty awesome change/addition, I'm looking to run some 2nd edition at some point on roll20 so will definitely be checking this out

Hey, totally fair questions. What I can tell you for sure is that we have folks working on both PF1 and Starfinder still. There should (barring unforeseen disasters or something) be new releases for both IPs within the next few months.
On December 13, we're going to be hosting our next Community Roundtable and our Senior Producer and User Collab Lead (the ones behind getting the products out and the character sheets fully integrated) will be there. I can post the link to the survey for pre-submitted questions when it goes live. That's a great way to ask about exact timelines, and to voice your desire for certain products.
Let me know what you think when you run 2e! I'm really loving the new system.

Just to be clear, Paizo (and Wizards) are not the ones adding content to Roll20; the Roll20 team determines the pacing of their content releases.

Ah yes, thank you! I didn't even catch that phrasing. Paizo are the ones that create the awesome content in the first place; the Roll20 team are the ones that do all the integration and production to get the Paizo (and WOTC) products onto Roll20.

Sadly The Age of Ashes AP was cancelled by Roll20 in their Roundtable discussion on Twitch a few days ago.
If anyone might still want this on the Roll20 platform please post here so they can see the support of this and reconsider or hire more people to do this while they work on other PF II products.
Thanks

Umm, what? No they cancelled Return of the Runelords, they haven't even started Age of Ashes yet? Unless they cancelled plans for it? .-.
Jim Butler VP of Marketing & Licensing |
They did, it was on their twitch round table discussion for a question for Age of Ashes :(
They just released module 3 of RotRL Runeplague a couple days ago and thats it for now, and probably in the future as well from what they said...

Thanks for letting us know what was discussed on the roundtable. We're discussing Roll20's roadmap as they move into 2020, and I'm sure bunny-roll20 will have something to say soon.

From roll20 team on their forum about this
"Adventure Paths for Pathfinder Second Edition are not in any way “cancelled” on Roll20. Our goal with our messaging in the December Roundtable was to provide some transparency as Age of Ashes would not be done before the end of the year as we had said in a previous Roundtable."
So that implies Age of Ashes might still get on roll20, and point was that it wouldn't be in 2019?

Hey all- so to answer some of the questions around the Adventure Paths, I actually have official words from our Director of Licensing for you:
***
Hello Paizo forums!
Adventures for Pathfinder Second Edition are very much on our list for what we would like to continue to support on Roll20.
At this time, no Pathfinder First Edition product is on our production calendar. We have the War for the Crown Adventure Path and Rise of the Runelords Anniversary Edition ready to play, as well as the first 3 chapters of Return of the Runelords. Continued interest in those products on Roll20 lets us know that folks are interested in more Pathfinder First Edition content.
We will have an announcement in January with some upcoming product dates - stay tuned!
Thank you all for your excitement in playing Pathfinder on Roll20, we're excited too!
***
On my end, I will add that we are most definitely continuing PF2e support (drag and drop for spells was released this past week and I'm so excited, it's made leveling my sorcerer so much easier: http://roll20.io/17Dec2019). I hope this statement has cleared up any confusion.
