Fifth edition? Pah! I only play an edition so old there isn't an ordinal number for it on account of the letters 't' and 'h' wasn't invented yet! WE KNEW OW O AVE FUN RIG!

Well, this year looks MUCH more promising than 2012 did...

Really moving along this year fire, tornados, plagues, war. I think we have a meteor scheduled for later this year already. Oh and how could I forget volcano eruptions.

Sounds like something out of hack masters to me.

Beat Ascension 18 with Defect. Close call. Only had 10 hp left.

Nice. Beat watcher 13 final boss was the big hairy blue thing was already down to 13 before he went to his second phase. managed to do 200+ at once with goddess form and the little pen that does x2 damage every 10 cards. Took it out without losing any futher hp.

What strat did you use for defect?

Honestly, I don't really have strategies. I just try to choose some cards that work okay.

Cards:
Buffer+
Electrodynamics
Blizzard+
Defragment+ x2
Glacier+
Loop+ x2
Melter
Claw x2
Claw+
Cold Snap+
Defend
Defend+
Dualcast
Zap+
Ascender's Bane (curse)

Relics:
Cracked Core
Thread and Needle
Regal Pillow
Empty Cage
Oddly Smooth Stone
Whetstone
Tiny House
Frozen Egg

I've beaten 18 for with Ironclad, Silent, and Defect. And 13 with Watcher.

Yeah that does seem like a random assortment I would call it ice claws more then anything.

Yeah, I got the glacier and two claws fairly early. Got the electrodynamics after boss two. Just kept going and managed to win.

Should be getting that stimulus some time tonight. Might get some medical bills payed off.

STS: The last one I played was interesting I ended up with the crystal that lets you have cards form any deck. I got seek and the x lighting one from defect with the watchers deva form. So like 17 mana lighting bolts.

Nice.

Beat Ascension 14 with Watcher.

Nice I'm trying for that one tomomrow. I assume just a random assortment of stuff that just somehow worked out?

This time I was able to assemble a nice set. 3 Like Water+, 2 Pressure Points (only 1 was upgraded), Judgement+. Got rid of all the attack cards and several of the basic defends. Worked well until the final boss, who almost got me. Stupid time snail.

Full card list:
Deva Form+
Judgement+
Fasting
Fasting+
Like Water+ x3
Perseverance+
Pressure Points
Pressure Points+
Defend x2
Vigilance
Ascender's Bane (curse)

Relics:
Pure Water
Neow's Lament
Meat on the Bone
Pen Nib
Dream Catcher
Empty Cage
Oddly Smooth Stone
Violet Lotus
Shovel
Vajra

Yeah, several of those relics were completely useless.

Yeah Time snail is awful for everything except maybe iron clad. You end up with a lot less cards in your decks then I do I ned to start trying for smaller decks.

I try to get rid of as many cards as I can. That way I can quickly cycle through the useful cards.

Yeah I tend to pick up one every time instead of just not grabbing one. I should start saying no to cards I don't need

Ok - after a week of my cooking, my mother in law's blood pressure decreased from 130+ to 121, and my father in laws 140+ to 127.

It's pretty much the only place for red meat is in the soup as pork ribs=P

Way to save your in-laws lives... My cooking is probably doing the opposite.

Ex-cel-lent.

Why are you cooking for Mort's inlaws?

Darn you Ken!

Is that Mort's father-in-law?

I am making a lasagna from scratch tomorrow. own sauce etc. Turned out great last time I made it. gonna try and improve.

I swear some of these old people don't know theirs a pandemic going on. Asking about hwy our business is so slow like wtf?

"Oh, yeah. It's because of the murderers. They just keep coming by and killing 5 or 6 people here every night. Police just can't catch them. Welp. Good night!"

I love it. I think if I told a guest that I would be fired but I love it.

Lot less salt?

I take my blood pressure meds so I can enjoy my salty foods.

I think I now know how Violet Beauregarde felt, except instead of blueberries, it's spaghetti and meatballs and garlic toast.

Edit: Used a jar of Farm to Fork sauce (caramelized onion & roasted garlic). First time we tried it, and I think it's at least as good as Rao's, if not better.

Act like they're crazy "what do you mean, we're packed!" It helps if you can believably talk to an imaginary guest returning their room key while you're talking to them.

They'll either think someone is crazy (you? Them!? Tom Cruise!!!) Or the hotel is haunted.

Bonus points if you can do a Jack Torrance impersonation.

Actually my cooking isn't very bland. I still add salt and I wouldn't say I add less salt, but probably less salt then eating out and preserved foods(like salted vegs). I would say cutting out red meats is more important in blood pressure control then how much salt you actually eat. And also copious amounts of vegetables.

A typical day would look like this:

Breakfast:
Cabbage and minced chicken fried with egg

Lunch:
Pork rib, Corn and carrot soup
Turnip, carrot and dried shrimp
Fried chicken

Dinner:
Nai Bai
Pork rib, Corn and Carrot soup (same soup for lunch and dinner)
Miso Tilapia.

Scarab Sages

Preserved foods have so much salt its not even funny.

Our chief weapon is marinara. And bechamel. Our chief weapons are marinara and bechamel. And veloute. Among our weapons are marinara, bechamel, veloute and a RUTHLESS DEVOTION TO SIMMERING!

At least try it once before you stake & bake me. (I got it on sale, normally it runs the same price as Rao's at Publix.)

Ordinarily, I prefer to make it myself from scratch, but many some days I haven't got the energy.

Rao? As in 'Crook of Rao' Rao?

Greyhawk deities are making sauces, are they now? Sauces that banish all the fiends from the Flaeness, or at least from that area of the Flaeness represented by one's stove top?

Still at work still essential.

Same. At work, "essential".

I kind of wouldn't mind being layed off at this point honestly. I think unemployment would be more then I'm making right now if they passed that 600 dollar unemployment thing. It depends on how long it goes on for I suppose.

I'd rather work. At least that way I know that I will have a job when things start picking back up. Get laid off and you never know if you'll get rehired or have to find something else. Plus, it gets me out of the house. The change of scenery is good. Double plus, it helps make things feel a little more normal.

STS: Oh beat watcher 14. I think go for goddess form every time it's practically a sure thing. Deva form so far has also always been worth picking up. I've had mixed results with the retain one and the divinity death one. the autokill 30 one however makes non boss fights down right simple. Thats my opinion of the old ones anyways. Oh and ragnarok if you are able to play it easily is nifty.
