I'll be joining an established play by post group soon, and they need a frontliner/trap guy. I thought of making a Slayer, but since I've already made 3 so far (dirty trick specialist, sword and board TWF, trip specialist), I'd like to make him a little more interesting beyond "I hit it." The conventional builds I've tried don't really enthuse me, so if anyone knows any weird build, I'd be interested in trying it out.
I start at level 3 or 4, 20 point buy, amount of gold unknown.
Requirements:
- Core race.
- Needs Trapfinding at level 2 or 4.
- Needs an interesting "thing." Don't know what yet. Don't want a feinting build, but maybe some social skills would be nice. Or some spellcasting maybe.
- Preferably not multiclassed. Or at the very least at least 2 levels Slayer so I can get Trapfinding.
- I'm assuming PFS-legal feats and archetypes.
Thanks a lot!

Slayer's get a ton of skills, so it's not hard to have a good score in social skills without spending any feats or talents into it.
Obviously your 2nd level Talent has to be Trapfinding.
That leaves you with:
1st level feat
3rd level feat
4th level talent
Depending what you want, this can equate to 3 feats into a fighting style.
Since you can grab the Ranger Talent at 4th level, you can also get into a fighting style you otherwise wouldn't qualify for.
Two weapon fighting is great since you can grab Two Weapon fighting at 4th without the dex for it, and spend your feats on Power attack and weapon focus or something along those lines.

I don't have the materials in front of me to know what is PFS legal and not ... but have you considered a vanguard Slayer? The tactician ability will let you share your feats with all your friends. You sacrifice e the trap finding talent at second level, but can pick it up in short order with the Extra Talent feat.

            Butterfly Blade Slayer
Human 18,12,14,12,14,7
Bonus Feat: Dirty Fighting
1. TWF
2. Double Slice
3.
4. Rogue Talent: Trapspotter
5.
6. Imp. TWF
It's something a little less ordinary. Strength based TWF/Double Slice build is pretty straightforward. You can explore the nonlethal/intimidation stuff as you see fit.
I know you said you don't want a Fient build, but this really sets up well for multiclassing into snakebite brawler (maybe some sap master using weapon focus/weapon versatility feats), if you change your mind on using Fient.

            Halfing Vanguard slayers are good.
For the halfing, get: Fleet of Foot and Irrepressible if you like.
Get FCB for halfing slayer, a bonus on AC on slayer targets.
For two-weapon fighter, get combat style with power attack option to ignore prerequisite. begin with shield bash feats, IDK the feat order, but, Shield Master and Improved Two-Weapon Feint.
In the low level, you can get SA from winning initiative and flank. On mid, high level, you can get SA from feint and Hunter's Surprise. And, slayer have lots of thing to get AOO.
I don't play with, but i think slayer vanguard can be good archer or throw weapon warrior.
