Starfinder Society #1-98: Into the Perplexity is available to schedule (and presumably report), but I have not seen mention of this scenario anywhere. It this a phantom entry?

No, its a Thurston exclusive he wrote in order to run at conventions. He ran a few tables of it at PaizoCon as lottery-only events.

I'm guessing he'll likely publish it sometime in the future, though.

Thanks for the information!

Put a request to put this into the PFS Session tracker so those that have played it can track their plays.

Currently the best way to actually get to play this is to find your way to a convention where Thurston will be in attendance and do everything you can to find a seat at the table.

Check one of Tonya's recent blogs to see when various Paizo staff will be at conventions (ummm... http://paizo.com/community/blog/v5748dyo5lku2?June-Update-Stars-Volunteers- Conventions-and ) and I THINK he'll be in attendance at SkalCon, but don't quote me on that one.

I'm not particularly optimistic about seeing it out in the wild, but expect the chances are slightly higher for this than Shax's House of Pain.

I am worried/thrilled what Thurston can get away with if he never actually has to send it to print or into layout. In theory, he could run something entirely different every time and we would never know.

Wish I could. Andocon, Momocon, Gencon, and Dragoncon will probably be my limit for this year.

Because Thursty (and Jenkins) are my heroes, I got the chance to play this at PaizoCon, otherwise I totally would have made the trip to SkalCon just for this.

You met me! cries I was playing in Kate Baker's Sanctuary game when your 5-star game was going on. Morlamaw shirt.

I actually did price out flights because it sounds like a great time, but between PaizoCon, Origins, Gen Con, and a local con at the end of August (which is being stood up for the first time), I'm not

: Hmm’s brain re-engages :

Morlamaw shirt! Yes, I did meet you! But we didn’t get a chance to really talk! Still, I know what it means to be stretched in what conventions one can attend! I tried to figure out if I could make Origins, and then realized that there was no way to do it this year. Well, maybe we’ll get a chance to connect again at Origins next year.

Hugs!

I heard a rumour it's only been made reportable, so Thurston Hillman will one day get a nova next to his name!

My bad! I still need to submit that table... as it got missed in my PaizoCon dash. I have the sheet at home and will aim to get it entered after Origins.

No problem.

In light of the new 5 nova requirements, might 1-98 be released for 4 nova GMs?

Edit: I can bring whiskey to Paizo Con if it would help.

01-98 is likely to stay as a Paizo Employee exclusive, for the foreseeable future.

shakes Magic 8-Ball

"No"

Spoiler:
the very totally unsubstantiated rumor of turrible repute is that maybe somewhere down the line the don't believe me when I say eight part adventure is complete it might be released. Also, do NOT believe anything I just wrote. Really. Don't. Or maybe after a few of the parts are finished then the earlier sections might get released. You will be smurf blue if you hold yer breath for this though so don't.

Persevere.

Yeah, no word on a change for this yet.

There's some elements that need to be considered before it can go into a more open circulation. Namely, the current version that exists is a bunch of scattered notes and statblocks that comprise the necessary skeleton of a scenario. In order to get this out to GMs, it would need to be updated to a more standardized state, which would entail a bunch of things (a dev pass, an edit pass, layout, me getting paid for actually writing these words).

The existence of the #X-98 series is just there so I have something unique to run when at conventions, which helps drum up support for getting Starfinder people out. This has proven quite effective for certain conventions, as I know at least two I've run it at that sold out on tables or even brought in more GMs to sit at a Slot 0. And yes, this is something I wrote in my off-time and is not something Paizo ever paid me to do, but instead something I wanted to do for the community.

That being said, I can understand that exclusive content sucks when you don't have a good way of getting it. Eventually, I'd really love to pitch this as a non-standard mega-adventure for Starfinder. But for now, it's just something I can run at conventions to help get more players out and interest in events that bring me in! :)

Its role is kinda like when Tonya runs a retired season 0 game for people at a con.

I love the series, Thursty! Alas, there is no way of cloning you to run it at more than a couple of conventions a year.

BTW, what level will 2-98 be?

Currently looks like Part 2 is going to be 5-8.

Soul is the important word here. There's a market for those things you know.

I have a table coming up on 3/20/21. I made a post on the Online Events section of the forums.

I really wish there was secret "message thread where you can talk about this scenario openly if you have played it" x'D

(On sidenote, Second Trial was run by Thurston as 5-8, but there hasn't been "Third Trial" or other scenarios in this series run by Thurston yet right?)

Third Trial was run by Thursty at last year's SkalCon. My PC's therapist has had quite the time treating [[REDACTED BY ORDER OF THE FIRST SEEKER]].

Yeah someone told me that one was 5-8 tier as well, so much for my theory of each part being higher tier than the last x'D
